C15 Hsiao Rann Went Crazy.
Upon seeing Lyu Bin, Hsiao Rann sensed trouble might be brewing today.
Yet, Hsiao Rann was far from intimidated by Lyu Bin. He had been diligently practicing his cultivation. Even without the Essence Fostering Pill to cultivate Vital Energy, the Fake Vital Energy he had mastered was no trifling matter.
Now, should a fight break out between Hsiao Rann and Lyu Bin's crew, even if he couldn't overpower them, they wouldn't walk away unscathed.
"I thought I heard a dog yapping at my heels. Turns out it's you, Idiot Lyu. Aren't you supposed to be at your master's side? What's got you wandering out here all by yourself?"
Knowing there was no avoiding them, Hsiao Rann saw no reason to fear.
"Who are you calling a fool? You're the idiot here."
Lyu Bin was taken aback by Hsiao Rann's bold defiance!
"Look who it is, if it isn't Lyu Bin? When did you show up? I didn't notice you, but I was just cursing at a dog. Why did you respond? Are you a dog, or is that dog I was cursing a relative of yours?" Hsiao Rann knew how to throw insults; he simply chose not to.
"Hsiao Rann, don't get cocky. I'm going to put you in your place and have you begging for mercy," Lyu Bin spat out, his voice seething with rage.
"Who's got Little Lyu all worked up? Take a breather, Lyu, or you might just cry yourself out."
Lyu Bin's anger was almost comical to Hsiao Rann.
"Brother Lyu, enough talk. Let's just take him down," one of Lyu Bin's companions interjected, clearly underestimating Hsiao Rann's ability to hold his own.
"And who might you be? I have nothing but contempt for you," Hsiao Rann retorted.
"Who are you cursing?" This new challenger seemed even quicker to anger than Lyu Bin.
"I'm talking to you. With eyes like a rodent's, I'd wager you're not one for the long view. What, are you hard of hearing too? How else could you not understand what I'm saying?"
"I'm going to give you a thrashing," the man declared, his impatience evident. Incensed by Hsiao Rann's words, he charged at him.
Hsiao Rann was elated. He hadn't anticipated that a few harsh words would cause that person to charge at him head-on. Initially, there were three on Lyu Bin's side, and Hsiao Rann knew he stood no chance in a fight against them all. But this person's impulsive rush was like handing him the opportunity to take them down one by one.
At this point, it was clear that Hsiao Rann couldn't settle the matter peacefully. With the legacy of the Pill Sovereign in his possession, he was brimming with confidence. He was aware that he needed to keep the inheritance a secret, but since Lyu Bin and his cronies had already crossed the line, Hsiao Rann saw no reason to hold back any longer.
Even if Lyu Bin hadn't come looking for trouble, Hsiao Rann was intent on teaching him and Young Master Jiang a lesson. For now, he could focus on dealing with Lyu Bin's group before setting his sights on Young Master Jiang later on.
Lyu Bin, watching his underling spring into action, was convinced that Hsiao Rann would be easily defeated. He stood back with another one of his followers, ready to observe. What he hadn't expected was the explosive combat strength Hsiao Rann unleashed, leaving him utterly astonished.
The man swung his fist viciously, aiming a blow at Hsiao Rann's face, seemingly determined to knock him out with a single punch. Yet, to his shock, Hsiao Rann nimbly sidestepped the attack and regarded him with a taunting gaze.
The man, undeterred, prepared to launch another assault on Hsiao Rann. But Hsiao Rann wasn't about to give him that chance. As the man turned to strike again, Hsiao Rann delivered a swift kick to his rear, sending him sprawling face-first onto the ground.
Hsiao Rann couldn't help but touch his own face, reflecting on the man's unfortunate state with a mix of amusement and pity.
Upon seeing his henchman bested by Hsiao Rann, Lyu Bin's immediate response wasn't to acknowledge Hsiao Rann's strength or to assist his fallen comrade. Instead, he glared at Hsiao Rann and spat out venomously, "Hsiao Rann, you dare to attack someone?"
Upon hearing Lyu Bin's words, Hsiao Rann couldn't help but feel exasperated. It was Lyu Bin and his cronies who had attacked him first; Hsiao Rann was merely defending himself.
With that in mind, Hsiao Rann dismissed Lyu Bin and launched an attack on another one of his henchmen.
As Hsiao Rann charged, Lyu Bin's henchman stood his ground, unfazed. They were used to bullying others and had encountered resistors before, but those challengers had always ended up bowing to them in the end.
They had pegged Hsiao Rann as a mere ordinary person, a weak orphan at that, and thought they could push him around with impunity.
But Hsiao Rann was no longer the pushover they assumed him to be, rendering their assumptions moot.
With a single punch, Hsiao Rann floored another of Lyu Bin's men, striking him squarely in the stomach. The man was in such agony that he was momentarily breathless, unable to even cry out in pain.
This spectacle finally elicited screams from some of the onlookers. Until that moment, many hadn't been aware of the unfolding drama. The staff had noticed the altercation but had been too intimidated to intervene, knowing Lyu Bin was involved. It wasn't until Hsiao Rann took down the second man that the crowd took note of the situation. Hsiao Rann had been shopping at this upscale pharmacy, where the medicinal ingredients were pricey, attracting few customers.
Now, one of the employees who had initially turned a blind eye hurried over.
He appeared to be the security manager for the area, and it was clear that any higher-ranking officials wouldn't be showing up.
Upon arrival, the manager bellowed, "Stop it, what do you think you're doing? This is a public place; fighting is not allowed. I'll call the police if you don't cease immediately."
Hsiao Rann felt a surge of indignation at his words. "The nerve," he thought, "when they were trying to beat me, none of you had the guts to step in. Now that I'm holding my own, you suddenly decide to intervene? Ridiculous!" With that, Hsiao Rann brushed off the manager and strode towards Lyu Bin.
"What do you want?" Lyu Bin asked, a hint of fear in his voice. He hadn't anticipated Hsiao Rann's formidable strength.
"What do you think I want?" Hsiao Rann replied with a wicked grin. There was no chance of making amends with Lyu Bin, so he figured he might as well scare him into submission.
"If you dare to hit me, Young Master Jiang won't let you off the hook."
His threat was nauseating.
Hsiao Rann was itching to give Lyu Bin a taste of his own medicine. Lyu Bin was the epitome of arrogance, but at the first sign of trouble, he'd hide behind his boss for protection.
"You're talking about Young Master Jiang? I'll deal with you first, then it's his turn. Don't worry, you'll both get what's coming to you," Hsiao Rann said with a malicious smile, unaware that it would haunt Lyu Bin's nightmares.
Without hesitation, Hsiao Rann seized Lyu Bin, who tried to fight back, only to receive a swift kick to the groin from Hsiao Rann.
He was left completely drained of strength.
The bystanders watched with a cold dread.
This kid was merciless, seemingly intent on finishing Lyu Bin off. But Hsiao Rann knew the kick wouldn't inflict serious harm; the hospital could easily fix such a minor injury.
Lyu Bin, clutching his groin from Hsiao Rann's kick, began to howl, "It hurts so much!"
Lyu Bin's dramatics brought a smirk to Hsiao Rann's face; he hadn't expected such an over-the-top performance. Hsiao Rann was well aware that his blow wasn't severe enough to cause such agony.
But if Lyu Bin was set on playing this game, Hsiao Rann was more than willing to play along. He delivered another kick, this time to Lyu Bin's muscled elbow. Hsiao Rann couldn't be certain how much pain Lyu Bin felt, but he knew that arm wouldn't be functioning any time soon.
As expected, the stricken arm went limp, devoid of sensation no matter how hard Lyu Bin tried to move it.
Clutching his hand, he screamed, "Help! My hand is broken!"
Hsiao Rann couldn't help but laugh; he knew full well that Lyu Bin's hand wasn't actually broken.
With his next kick, Hsiao Rann held back his strength, landing a blow on Lyu Bin's stomach. The impact was so severe that Lyu Bin spat out white foam.
"How does it feel to get a beating from me? Want me to go harder?" Hsiao Rann taunted Lyu Bin with a wicked grin.
"Hsiao Rann, you'll pay for this! I swear I'll destroy your whole family." Lyu Bin's words were unrepentant, sure to provoke Hsiao Rann's wrath.
Hsiao Rann stared at Lyu Bin. Having always been alone, the concept of family was a foreign luxury to him. He harbored no resentment towards his parents for abandoning him; finding them was his deepest desire. Yet, Lyu Bin had dared to utter those words.
Everyone has a line that must not be crossed. For Hsiao Rann, his family was sacred.
"You've crossed the line!" Hsiao Rann said coldly, his voice devoid of emotion.
The supervisor sensed trouble brewing. As a doctor, he could see that Hsiao Rann's kicks were pulled punches. Initially, he wasn't overly concerned, but now he realized that if he didn't intervene, Lyu Bin might sustain real injuries—and that would mean punishment for both of them.
But was it possible to stop Hsiao Rann? Did Hsiao Rann even know who he was? Clearly, the answer was no.
Attempting to assert control, the supervisor barked, "Enough! This is Benevolence Hall."
But his command was cut short as Hsiao Rann sent him flying with a strike. He soared over three meters before collapsing, unconscious.
Witnessing this, Lyu Bin's pupils shrank in fear, realizing he had truly enraged Hsiao Rann.
Hsiao Rann turned back to face Lyu Bin, repeating sternly, "Young Master Lyu, you've really made me angry."
Having finished speaking, Hsiao Rann launched a forceful kick at Lyu Bin. Had Lyu Bin not raised his hands in defense, he likely would have been knocked unconscious by the blow. Yet, even with his hands intercepting the kick, he was left with a complete loss of sensation in both hands.
