C15 Gao Zheng Was about to Escape
Lee Wen, at the youthful age of twenty-two, was in the full flush of manhood and still a virgin. He had idolized Ye Tingyu as a goddess ever since their first encounter, so when the opportunity arose for an intimate embrace, he found it impossible to resist.
In a flurry, Lee Wen had Ye Tingyu down to just a set of white undergarments, while his own clothes, torn by her, were reduced to mere briefs, tented with his arousal.
"Am I taking advantage of someone in their moment of weakness?" Lee Wen hesitated as he neared the final barrier.
"Hold me tight!" Ye Tingyu pressed her smooth body against him once more, her mouth seeking his skin in a frenzied kiss. Feeling her searing heat, Lee Wen's resolve wavered.
What if this didn't cure her symptoms? Would he be left powerless? And if she accused him of wrongdoing in a fit of anger, wouldn't that be a grave injustice?
"No, Ye Tingyu, I can't exploit your vulnerability!" Lee Wen firmly pushed her away and leapt from the bed. "Where's the antidote? I'll find it for you!"
He dashed into the bathroom, soaked a large towel in cold water, and returned to try to cool Ye Tingyu down.
"I don't need a towel..." Despite the chill of autumn, Ye Tingyu showed no sign of feeling the cold, indicating just how feverish she was. "I need you..."
"Damn it! This is like being forced into a crime!" Lee Wen, teeth clenched, scooped Ye Tingyu up and hurried to the bathroom. After placing her in the bathtub, he began to fill it with cold water.
As the water flowed, Ye Tingyu's struggles weakened, and her consciousness seemed to sharpen. "Ye Tingyu, where's the Thousand Medicine Detoxification Pill?" Lee Wen asked urgently.
"In the room... in the storage cabinet..."
"Stay put!"
With that, Lee Wen rushed to the storage cabinet in the room. It didn't take long to find a labeled bottle among the few precious items. "This is it!" He grabbed a pill the size of a pinky and hurried back to the bathroom to administer it to Ye Tingyu.
Bit by bit, Ye Tingyu's resistance ceased, and soon after, she drifted into a deep sleep.
Lee Wen carried her back to the bed, all the while praying she was okay. He tucked her in with a blanket and, after a moment's thought, turned on the air conditioner. Having done all this, he realized he was ravenous and headed downstairs to scrounge up some food.
Ye Tingyu awoke feeling overheated. As she opened her eyes, she found herself in the familiar warmth of her own room, surrounded by the wind chimes, origami cranes, and her sketches—each item a treasure she had chosen with care.
She massaged her aching limbs and slowly pieced together the memories of her uncontrollable state. As the recollection dawned on her, her face flushed with embarrassment, and she began to mutter under her breath.
Just then, she heard footsteps approaching. Normally unflappable, her heart now raced. She quickly resumed her sleeping pose, feigning slumber.
"Ye, are you awake?" Lee Wen gently pushed the door open and stepped inside. Catching sight of her, he chuckled. "You're out like a light."
With that, he closed the door and left. Once his footsteps faded, Ye Tingyu cautiously peeked out from under the covers, her cheeks still warm. "That darn Dong Xuehai! After what happened with Lee Wen... how can I face him now?"
Suddenly, a startled exclamation echoed from downstairs. Anxious, Ye Tingyu dressed hastily and dashed down the stairs, only to find Lee Wen causing a commotion in the kitchen.
"Ye, you're up?!" Lee Wen turned to her with a sheepish grin. "You feeling better? You seem to be okay. That Thousand Medicine Detoxification Pill—what a wonder! Can it truly neutralize all toxins?"
"Are you twenty-two?" Ye Tingyu, trying to hide her bashfulness, kept her expression stern. "I'm not even halfway through twenty-five. From now on, just call me Tingyu, got it? 'Sister' makes me sound old."
"Ah?" Lee Wen, slightly embarrassed, scratched his head and muttered, "Well... okay then. Dinner's ready. Shall we eat?"
After their ordeal, both were famished and began to eat without further ado. Nearing the end of the meal, Ye Tingyu glanced at Lee Wen and deadpanned, "This is terribly bland."
Lee Wen couldn't help but look at her in surprise and said, "You ate three bowls of rice even though it was bad?"
"I'll let you taste my cooking when I have some free time," Ye Tingyu responded coolly.
Lee Wen's heart swelled with joy. Was this a sign that she was fond of him? Just as he was about to respond, Ye Tingyu gestured for silence and pulled out her phone. After a brief frown, she exclaimed, "Gao Zheng, that sly old fox, is on his way to the store. He's probably planning to skip town!"
With that, she sprang up to grab her car keys.
"Where could he possibly go?" Lee Wen quickly followed, saying, "We have his ID, right? Why not just report him to the police?"
"It's not that simple," Ye Tingyu said as she led the way outside. "He's been a helper at Tingyu House for over twenty years, brought in by my grandfather. His identity is likely a fake! If I hadn't secretly installed a pinhole camera, he might have gotten away... Lee Wen, can you drive?"
"Yes..." Lee Wen's confusion was cut short as Ye Tingyu tossed the car keys to him and took the passenger seat.
"Step on it. If Gao Zheng is alone, do you think you can help me catch him?" Ye Tingyu asked quietly while watching the surveillance footage of Gao Zheng stealing various priceless treasures. "You seem to have good reflexes, but don't overdo it. If you're not sure, I can find someone else."
"No problem at all! Beating him up will be as easy as handling a puppy," Lee Wen assured her confidently, thumping his chest. "That old scoundrel framed me; now I can get even!"
"We're here... It's not safe outside, stay in the car and wait for me. I'll go catch him!" Four or five minutes later, the car stopped at the entrance of Antique City. Lee Wen dropped these words and was ready to dash off.
"Wait!" Ye Tingyu commanded. "Come back!"
Lee Wen got back into the car, visibly annoyed, and asked, "What's the matter? Why the sudden change in tone?"
"Take this!" Ye Tingyu unexpectedly produced a sleek handgun and instructed, "Use this for self-defense if you run into trouble. Stay safe."
"You!" Lee Wen accepted the handgun with a stunned expression. "You... you actually have this? Just who are you?"
"If you don't hurry up, they'll get away!" Ye Tingyu snapped, glaring at him.
Lee Wen nodded, pushing his doubts aside. It didn't matter; he had already decided on this woman! In a matter of moments, he became a mere shadow, vanishing into the night.
