C3 Magic Medicine

Within the trove of knowledge passed down by the Universal Sage, there were numerous herbal formulas. Wang Xiaochuan needed only a brief confirmation before he discovered a medicine with potent kidney-strengthening properties.

The thought of soon being free from financial worries made Xiaochuan restless. He jumped on his electric scooter and headed to the herbal medicine market. Once there, he found the necessary herbs, though they were far from affordable. A single dose could cost him at least a hundred yuan.

Beyond the kidney-reinforcing drugs, Xiaochuan also found herbs that could aid in his cultivation, but these were even pricier, requiring a hefty sum of ten to twenty thousand yuan to purchase. Glancing at his empty wallet, Xiaochuan sighed and decided to leave.

Luckily, he quickly devised a plan. He borrowed five hundred yuan from Lai, which allowed him to scrape together enough for three sets of kidney-reinforcing drug ingredients at the market.

With the herbs in hand, it was time to make the medicine. Xiaochuan returned home, his heart pounding with excitement, and began the preparation process. Following the formula, he ground the herbs and carefully measured out the proportions. After two hours of simmering, his hard work paid off.

Three bowls of aromatic medicinal juice sat before Xiaochuan, their strong fragrance filling the room. He eyed the green, tea-like concoction with hesitation. Although the medicine was ready, he needed to test it before presenting it to Bao Fan. It wasn't that he doubted the Sage's legacy, but he simply couldn't afford to take any risks.

The dilemma was that the medicine was designed to reinforce the kidneys, and Xiaochuan was a solitary man, his only 'girlfriend' being his left hand. How could he possibly test it?

Just then, the barking of a dog from downstairs sparked an idea. Liang Yue's dog, a male that was notorious for causing trouble, seemed like the perfect candidate. Xiaochuan had reprimanded the dog just the day before, but it wasn't enough. Today, he could use the dog for his experiment.

With his mind made up, Xiaochuan stealthily descended the stairs and approached the dog's kennel.

The dog had been on the receiving end of a kick from him yesterday and still hadn't bounced back. Yet, when it caught sight of him, the dog promptly struggled to its feet, its tail tucked between its legs in fear.

Wang Xiaochuan poured the medicinal concoction into the dog's bowl, pointed at it, and commanded, "Drink it!"

The dog hesitated briefly before actually starting to lap it up.

Wang Xiaochuan watched the dog finish the medicine, then stealthily retreated to his house to await the medicine's effects.

Before long, Wang Xiaochuan heard a piercing scream from downstairs. Listening intently, he recognized it as Liang Yue's voice.

Without needing to look, Wang Xiaochuan was certain his medicine had worked.

He rolled out of bed and headed out the door.

Reaching the scene downstairs, he found a crowd had gathered. They were pointing and speculating animatedly, while Liang Yue's screams echoed from the center, "Husband! Quick, help me get this big yellow dog off me! Pull it away, quick!"

Pushing through the onlookers, Wang Xiaochuan couldn't suppress a snicker.

He saw Liang Yue's big yellow dog standing on its hind legs, desperately clinging to Liang Yue's waist, while its lower half thrusted back and forth into thin air.

The sight of the dog's appendage, bulging with veins, was startling enough to stun even Wang Xiaochuan.

"My goodness, how did it get so large?"

It wasn't just Wang Xiaochuan; the crowd was also abuzz about the big yellow dog.

"What a bizarre sight. Isn't this yellow dog over ten years old? In human years, that would be past eighty. How can it still be in heat?"

"I think this big yellow dog is just an old dog with a young heart. Look at the size of that thing – I bet even a wolfhound wouldn't measure up!"

"You're all mistaken. I bet it's Liang Yue who's brought out this second spring in the big yellow dog. Just look at how invested the dog is. To get an old dog this aroused, Liang Yue's allure must be something else."

At that, the crowd erupted into laughter.

Wang Xiaochuan couldn't help but smile, feeling quite pleased with himself. First off, his experiment with the medicine had been a success. The dog had merely sampled a bit of the kidney-reinforcing drugs and had already shown remarkable changes, confirming the medicine's effectiveness. Secondly, he had managed to get a bit of sweet revenge on Liang Yue and the dog for the previous day's incident, releasing some pent-up frustration.

Once he got home, Wang Xiaochuan quickly packed up and grabbed a bottle of the medicinal concoction before heading out the door, ready to earn some money.

He hopped on his electric scooter and made his way to the entrance of the Sunken City complex, where he called Bao Fan.

"Hello? Who's this?" Bao Fan's voice came through the phone.

"Bao Fan, it's me, Wang Xiaochuan!"

"Wang Xiaochuan? Which one? Are you Wang Baqiang?"

"No, I'm the delivery guy, Wang Xiaochuan. We met earlier today."

"Oh, right, I remember now. I didn't order any takeout, though. What do you need?"

"Nothing much. I've brought you something special today."

"Something special?" Bao Fan sounded skeptical. "What's that?"

"It's medicine..." Wang Xiaochuan whispered, "Bao Fan, it's a traditional tonic from my family's recipe! It's great for kidney health and particularly beneficial for the elderly. My grandfather has been using it for years! I overheard you arguing with your wife this morning and thought I'd bring over a bottle for you to try out."

Wang Xiaochuan was cautious not to explicitly mention it was a kidney-reinforcing drug, fearing Bao Fan might be skeptical. Presenting it as a general tonic seemed less dubious.

"Kidney-reinforcing? Does it actually work?"

"Absolutely! Like I said, my grandfather swears by it."

"Well then... why don't you bring it up so I can give it a try? I'm at home right now."

"Great! Bao Fan, I'll be right up."

With that, Wang Xiaochuan ended the call. Upon reaching the complex, he found Bao Fan already outside, waiting for him at the bottom of the stairs.

Upon meeting Bao Fan, Wang Xiaochuan didn't beat around the bush. He approached and handed over the bottle containing the medicinal concoction.

"Bao Fan, this is the tonic I mentioned to you."

Curious, Bao Fan uncapped the bottle and inquired, "It smells quite nice. What's it made from?"

Wang Xiaochuan explained, "It's all herbal medicine, purely natural with no chemical additives."

"Is that so?" Bao Fan gave Wang Xiaochuan a look of approval and nodded. "Okay, I'll try it out. You're thoughtful, Xiaochuan. How much does a bottle cost?"

Wang Xiaochuan quickly gestured with his hands, "Bao Fan, this first bottle is on me. Try it, and if you find it effective, you can come back to me."

Wang Xiaochuan was playing the long game, knowing that Bao Fan, a seasoned businessman, would be skeptical if he charged upfront. By offering it for free, he hoped to build trust.

As expected, the offer of a complimentary bottle brought a smile to Bao Fan's face, and only then did he pocket the medicine.

After accepting it, he nodded, "Good, leave me your number. If it proves effective, I'll be sure to purchase some from you."

Bao Fan seemed indifferent as he left, but a few hours later, Wang Xiaochuan received an excited call from him.

"Brother Xiaochuan! Do you have any more of that tonic? It's miraculous! I've never felt so invigorated!" Bao Fan was slightly stuttering, yet his voice conveyed his excitement.

"Xiaochuan, that tonic is incredible! Do you have more? I'll take it all. How much per bottle? Name your price, and I'll pay whatever it is!" Bao Fan declared with gusto.

"Alright. I'll bring you some more tomorrow, Bao Fan."

"Great, great! Make it early, huh? My wife was just saying she wants it by tomorrow morning!"

After ending the call, Wang Xiaochuan, despite being famished from not eating for a while, couldn't help but excitedly pump his fist in the air.

The deal was finally sealed!
