C12 Why Did He Look for His Grandfather?
"Ye Tian, there's something I must remind you of," Lin Wan said, her gaze fixed on him.
"What's that?" Ye Tian asked, his curiosity piqued by the beautiful Lin Wan.
"Most of the members above the leader level in the alliance come from wealthy and influential backgrounds. Some are even top executives of publicly traded companies," Lin Wan explained. "Just being at the leader level signifies immense wealth and power."
"The silver leader tier is the domain of the true heavyweights. If you're aiming to skip ranks and join them, they won't make it easy for you. You get what I'm driving at, right?"
Ye Tian caught on to Lin Wan's implication right away.
"I understand. Thank you for the heads-up, Teacher Lin. I'm determined to make it to the silver leader tier," Ye Tian replied, his resolve clear in his eyes.
"Go for it, and good luck," Lin Wan encouraged, nodding and giving Ye Tian a supportive gesture.
After wrapping up his day's work, Ye Tian left Lin Wan's office to a sea of astonished and impressed onlookers. Among them were numerous teachers, examiners, and fellow alliance members.
"That's Ye Tian."
"Wow, so young and already so accomplished."
"And quite the looker, too."
Ye Tian overheard the murmurs but kept his composure, unfazed.
He was a changed man, no longer the struggling Ye Tian of the past. Now, he was someone who took things seriously, exuded confidence, and remained cool under pressure. When it was time to energize and enliven the atmosphere, he was second to none. In a nutshell, Ye Tian was an impeccable talent!
Armed with Meiniu, his extraordinary future phone, he was unstoppable.
Under the watchful eyes of many, Ye Tian exited the Reader Alliance's headquarters. He slipped away to a secluded spot, about to engage Meiniu's tool mode and fire up the Bugatti Veyron sports car, when a mocking laugh reached his ears: "Haha... Ye Tian, feeling pretty invincible now, aren't you?"
Turning, Ye Tian saw Hu Chuan, the same guy he had soundly thrashed before.
With a taunting smile, Ye Tian retorted, "Well, is this my dear grandson, isn't it? What's the matter? Looking for your grandpa, me?"
"Ye Tian, you're really asking for it," Hu Chuan spat out, glaring at Ye Tian's cocky demeanor. He was itching to teach Ye Tian a lesson, to pummel him into the ground and grind his face under his boot.
"Who's asking for it? Can't you tell?" Ye Tian retorted with a sneer. "Seems like the last beating didn't stick. How quickly you forget."
"Well, well, look at the tough guy here. You beat up my brother and still have the nerve to talk back?" No sooner had Ye Tian's words fallen than a man larger and taller than Hu Chuan stepped up to confront him.
Ye Tian met the man's gaze, his face an unreadable mask.
"Do you even know who I am? You dare to strike my brother, and you think you can still hang around the Reader Alliance?" the man challenged.
"I don't know," Ye Tian replied coolly.
Though internally, he had a pretty good hunch about the newcomer's identity.
"Hmph, you don't know Brother Da, and yet you expect to get by in the Reader Alliance? You're way out of your league," sneered the group of men trailing behind the towering figure.
