C4 He Was Fined Thirty Thousand

"Let's not drag this out. You owe a fine of 30,000 yuan—cash or transfer, either works," Ye Tian said to the author known as Venomous Bee.

"That much?"

"Do you still want to write a one-stop-shop book?"

"Yes." Venomous Bee felt like his heart was bleeding as he reluctantly took out his phone and transferred 30,000 yuan to Ye Tian.

Ye Tian's phone was synced with Meiniu's system, so the moment the transaction went through, Meiniu informed him via a special audio message.

"Mr. Tian, are we good now?" Venomous Bee asked, his voice tinged with nervousness.

"Yeah. Considering your timely remorse and genuine sincerity, we'll call it even."

"But if you ever dare to spew nonsense and mislead readers again, I'll be on you in a heartbeat. Got it?"

"Understood, understood." Venomous Bee nodded hastily, eager to see Ye Tian off on good terms—lest he face a fate worse than financial penalties.

"Hey, editor, I'm done with that book. I'm turning over a new leaf to become a better writer," Venomous Bee declared over the phone to his editor, vowing to end his toxic writing.

"Congratulations, Master, on completing your first mission. You've earned a reward of 100,000 yuan and unlocked the heart disease treatment feature. Would you like to proceed with the treatment now?" Meiniu offered.

"Treat it now," Ye Tian commanded, and immediately felt an unusual energy coursing into his heart, relieving the previous discomfort and leaving him feeling exceptionally well.

"Master, your acute heart condition has been fully cured. You're in perfect health now," Meiniu reported after the treatment.

"Good. Transform into a Ferrari; we're going shopping."

"As you wish, Master."

Ye Tian settled into the car, his spirits lifted by the additional 130,000 yuan in his account.

"Master, Venomous Bee has just posted a confession article. Would you like to read it?"

"Show me." Ye Tian skimmed the article. Venomous Bee's contrition seemed heartfelt, though whether it stemmed from genuine regret or fear of further fines was unclear.

In a gracious move, he even made a point to acknowledge and thank Ye Tian at the end.

Ye Tian felt a sense of satisfaction; his first mission had been effortlessly accomplished.

At the department store, Ye Tian, dressed in his modest attire, browsed the men's fashion section when a disdainful man in a suit approached him.

"Move along, move along... take your gawking elsewhere. Is this a place for you to stare?"

Ye Tian bristled with irritation. Striding in, he tried on every piece of clothing in sight. The man, reluctant to cause a scene, hesitated to usher him out.

"I've looked, I've tried—what about it? But I'm not buying. What are you going to do about it?" Ye Tian taunted the man before spinning on his heel and heading to the adjacent men's section.

Fuming, the man followed, hurling insults. "Kid, you can't afford it but still want to swipe the clothes? Have you no shame?"

His intention was clear: to slander Ye Tian and leave him red-faced. The staff in the neighboring men's section tensed up, fearing the worst. If Ye Tian made off with even a single item, the loss would be on them.

"Wrap up that one, and that one too," Ye Tian commanded.

"Ha, got the cash? You're putting on quite the show. Think you're some kind of mogul?" the man sneered at Ye Tian's bold demeanor.

Yet, the men's section staff complied, serving him with courtesy and packaging the clothes. Handing them to Ye Tian, they inquired, "Sir, that'll be 32,000 yuan. Will that be card or cash?"

"Transfer, 32,000 yuan," Ye Tian replied.

A voice alert from the register announced, "Payment received: 32,000 yuan."

There was a collective gasp. A tycoon in their midst, a hidden tycoon at that.

The most astonishing part? No one saw Ye Tian lift a finger, yet the transaction was complete. He must be carrying some sort of high-tech gadget.

"May I change into these here?" Ye Tian inquired.

"Certainly, sir. Right this way," the salesperson responded, now treating him with even greater deference. The earlier antagonist was left dumbfounded, his plan to embarrass Ye Tian having backfired spectacularly.

Dressed in his new attire, Ye Tian also picked up some undergarments and then headed to the barbershop for a fresh haircut. Transformed and looking sharp, he was a sight to behold!

Coupled with his fiery red Ferrari, he was the epitome of cool.

"Master, Hu Chuan, the leader of the third outer group, is on the line. Would you like to take the call?"

"Pick up." Ye Tian answered the phone, and Hu Chuan's voice, laced with anger, came through immediately. He was the leader of the third group.

"Ye Tian, did you finish reviewing those fifty novels I assigned to you? It's been twenty days, and I've yet to receive a report from you. Are you trying to forfeit this month's paycheck? I'm giving you one more day. If I don't have it by tonight, you can kiss your money goodbye."

Listening to Hu Chuan's words, Ye Tian felt a surge of fury. This guy had a history of skimming money off the original owner's pay, which explained the financial straits he found himself in.

That was then, this is now. He wasn't about to let Hu Chuan walk all over him.

"When have you ever paid me in full, huh? I haven't finished a single novel, let alone a summary. You want it done? Do it yourself. I'm out. What are you gonna do about it?" Ye Tian retorted angrily.

There was a moment of silence on the other end before Hu Chuan finally responded, "Hey, kid, you've got some nerve, don't you?"
