C23 Fight!
"Let's go. I'll show you that house I mentioned before; it's still on the market. Seems like that monk is just another guy who likes to make empty promises."
Jiang Shi was puzzled and looked up at Chen Hao with a questioning gaze. He affectionately tousled her hair and said with a smile,
"It's none of your concern. I'm taking you to see Villa No. 23, the one I told you about earlier."
Without a saleswoman to guide them, they enjoyed the peace and quiet. However, they hadn't anticipated that Jiang Shi would draw so much attention. Before long, a slick-looking young man approached them.
"Miss, I am a property owner at Crystalfall Manor. I've already purchased one villa here and am about to buy a second. You seem to be house-hunting. If you don't mind, may I offer you a personal tour?"
Jiang Shi simply smiled and shook her head, indicating she wasn't interested. This tactic might work on the scholars at Irethhone University, but it was hardly effective against the persistent pests of the outside world.
It was as if her gesture was an invitation. The man ignored her refusal and kept on with his relentless spiel.
"We've already found what we're looking for. My girlfriend doesn't need your introduction. Perhaps you should find someone else to charm," Chen Hao said, pulling Jiang Shi closer and issuing a stern warning. The man's face stiffened; he was reluctant to back down, but after sizing up Chen Hao, who was both taller and more muscular, he retreated a couple of steps. Then, in a flash, he concocted a new plan.
"Help! Help! I'm being attacked!"
The patrolling security guards quickly responded, separating them. With a crowd gathering, the greasy-faced man seemed to find his confidence.
"This guy here tried to hit me. I'm the owner of Unit 32. Zhang Bao, remember me? You were the one who closed the deal."
Zhang Bao, a middle-aged man with gold-rimmed glasses and a portly figure, gave Chen Hao a cold look. Upon seeing the greasy-faced young man, his cheeks puffed up with recognition.
"Ah, Mr. Lu, ensure his safety immediately! How could you allow an uninvited guest into Crystalfall Manor? This is an exclusive residential area, not a place where just anyone can wander in and out. We'll definitely need to have the cleaners do an extra round later."
"How can I put this? Your presence here has cost us more energy than you could possibly earn..."
Zhang Bao clearly had a disdainful view of others. Chen Hao met his gaze with a calm that seemed to unsettle him. At that moment, Jiang Shi, who had been standing by, could no longer hold her tongue.
"We haven't laid a finger on anyone. With all these witnesses around, in broad daylight, they can vouch for us. What are you implying? Are we not allowed to enter? Do you think you're above everyone else? You're no different from the rest of us."
Jiang Shi, a university professor, would never stoop to vulgar insults, no matter how incensed she was. Chen Hao stood up, gently pulled her behind him, and with a reassuring smile, said to her, "Watch how your man handles this. I can't have you out front taking the lead."
Chen Hao stepped forward, only to be met by several security guards brandishing electric batons. Truth be told, these men were more about intimidation than actual security, likely hired for their connections rather than competence.
"What was that you said? That I hit you?"
The guards tensed up, aware of their duty to protect the premises. Mr. Lu, a property owner with stakes in two public companies and a net worth in the hundreds of millions, was not someone they could afford to injure.
"Leave now, or we'll have to take action."
Chen Hao extended his arm, undeterred, and continued to advance. The guards' eyes revealed a glint of severity. It was clear what they were prepared to do; even if Chen Hao was innocent and Mr. Lu was mistaken, they wouldn't speak a word in Chen Hao's defense.
Without hesitation, they activated their batons and aimed a blow at Chen Hao's head, unconcerned with the potential consequences. They were confident that someone would cover the costs, and they would undoubtedly reap some benefit from the situation.
With a sharp "Pah!" their vision blurred for a moment as a swift gust of wind whipped past them, accompanied by the crisp sound of a slap. Mr. Lu was sent flying, only to crash down hard onto the ground. His gold tooth took flight mid-air, and his face quickly swelled. Zhang Bao hurried to his side, lifting him up and expertly pinching his philtrum, demonstrating a commendable knowledge of emergency first aid.
Mr. Lu came to his senses rapidly. As he opened his eyes, disorientation washed over him; the room seemed to spin, and his head was filled with flashing lights. The sharp pain at the corner of his mouth brought him back to reality, and blood dripped steadily onto the floor. After a brief moment of shock, he bellowed in fury.
"Shentian, Brother Wu is too ruthless (kill him, I'll give you a million yuan)."
"You all had the guts to strike. After all, they struck first, and the cameras caught everything. We can claim self-defense. I'll secure some top-notch lawyers for you. At worst, you'll only be behind bars for a few days before you're released," Zhang Bao advised from the sidelines. Chen Hao shot him a look, prompting him to promptly close his mouth, no longer daring to speak. Clearly, the earlier slap had been quite effective.
The promise of a substantial reward always finds its takers. In an instant, eight burly security guards, armed with electric batons, charged forward, each letting out a roar as they summoned their inner strength. Chen Hao remained still, even closing his eyes in anticipation.
"Everyone, back off."
But Chen Hao was quicker. As the batons neared his head, his body sprang up like a coiled spring. With a mere flick of his index finger, the batons were sent flying from their hands, piercing through the air and embedding themselves nearly eight inches into the ground beneath their crotches.
The security guards let out piercing screams, and the foul smell of urine filled the air, indicating they had been frightened into incontinence. Chen Hao shook his head in disdain.
"Relax, my aim is precise. I was nowhere near your vital parts. What's all the screaming for? But now, you two, go ahead and scream if you must."
Chen Hao flashed a wicked grin as he cranked up the electric baton in his hand to full power and then jabbed it toward their groins.
