C4 Terrifying Shock!
"Shishi, should we jump off the building?"
"We're on the third floor!"
"It's just the third floor. We might not even die from the fall. I really don't want to be dismembered by ants!"
"Let's handle this one first and wait for help..."
"With all those monsters outside, who's going to rescue us?"
Upon hearing this, Jiang Shi's face turned deathly pale, as if she could see herself being devoured by ants.
Scenes from her life flickered through her mind like a slideshow, stopping at the image of a beaming, sunny smile.
There couldn't possibly be monsters like that at the hospital, could there? Jiang Shi wondered. Distracted by the thought, she didn't notice the ant suddenly speed up and scuttle to her feet.
Its mandibles parted, ready to snap at Jiang Shi's delicate ankle.
It was all over. Jiang Shi felt as if she had lost control of her body, her mind a complete blank.
All that remained was a pang of regret. If only she hadn't shyly run away at the hospital today and had instead faced him head-on...
"Dodge it!"
Just then, Jiang Shi thought she heard a forceful yell.
It sounded somewhat like Chen Hao, which made Jiang Shi scoff at herself.
He was at the hospital now; how could he be here at school? And it would be better if he didn't come...
"Shishi?!" But then, Mo Huaixi yanked her back to reality.
She also saw a figure struggling through the broken window.
"Chen Hao!" Jiang Shi exclaimed upon recognizing Chen Hao's face. "Why are you here?"
And how did he get up to the third floor?
"Don't move, just stand there!" Chen Hao didn't respond to Jiang Shi's question but quickly approached and plunged a sharp steel pipe down, pinning the ant beneath it.
He also had several homemade torches strapped to his back.
Chen Hao handed them the torches, lit them, and instructed firmly, "Stay close behind me and don't run off, no matter what!"
With that, he opened the door and strode out.
"Chen Hao!" Jiang Shi couldn't stop him in time, so she and Mo Huaixi had no choice but to follow.
In the hallway, a swarm of gigantic ants converged upon them.
With a swift wave of the torch in Chen Hao's hand, a clear space immediately formed around them.
Were these creatures afraid of fire?
The two women behind him mimicked his actions and cautiously made their way toward the staircase.
But what puzzled them was how Chen Hao knew about these creatures. Moreover, wasn't he supposed to be in the hospital? How did he end up here?
And he was equipped with torches and steel pipes. Had he known that these monsters would appear?
Harboring these questions, the trio reached the staircase.
"Follow me!" Chen Hao led the way, but the piercing screams of Shishi and Huaixi echoed from behind him.
Before he could look back, he sensed danger and quickly glanced upward.
Several ants were dropping from the ceiling.
"Chen Hao!"
"Don't come in yet!" The stairwell echoed with the clanging of steel pipes against the floor and Chen Hao's labored breathing.
Moments later, Chen Hao's urgent voice called out, "Come in, but watch your heads."
The women then cautiously entered the stairwell, only to find several ant carcasses strewn across the floor. Chen Hao was gasping for air, his clothes torn, and his left hand, clutching the torch, was gruesomely bloodied.
"Are you hurt?" Jiang Shi asked, her concern evident. She moved to check on him, but Mo Huaixi was already by his side.
Chen Hao gave a slight nod to the class beauty he faintly remembered from his past life. "I'm okay, follow me."
With that, he took the lead, guiding the women down the stairs.
They left behind a trail of bodies, which left the women tearful and trembling, but they persevered and finally made it to the first floor.
Outside the first-floor entrance, ants were still visibly active.
Chen Hao directed, "The septic tank is on the west side of the teaching block. We'll head there."
The women didn't understand why Chen Hao wanted to go to a place with a septic tank but followed him without question.
As they exited through a side door, they were met with chaos. The sound of fire engines grew louder, and the first gunshot rang out across the campus.
The two girls wore vacant expressions, murmuring, "Has the end of the world arrived?"
"Doomsday?" Chen Hao, leading the way, chuckled at their words. "Well, for the average person, it might as well be."
