C5 Guess If I Wear It or Not?
"Chen Hao, you're seriously injured. Are you sure you don't need to go to the hospital?" Tucked away behind a green space at Irethhone University, Jiang Shi gazed at Chen Hao's ant-bitten arm, her heart aching so much that tears began to fall.
Chen Hao shook his head. "It's okay, it's just a minor wound. I have some powerful medicine at home that my parents left behind. It works much better than what you'd find at the hospital."
"Should I take you home then?" Jiang Shi remained concerned, her worldview shaken by the day's events.
"Alright," Chen Hao agreed without objection. He then turned to Mo Huaixi and instructed, "There are rescue workers over there. You can go to them and say you managed to escape on your own."
"Ah? You're just going to leave me here?" Mo Huaixi pouted, looking forlorn. But faced with Chen Hao's stern expression, she reluctantly accepted her fate.
Subsequently, Jiang Shi and Chen Hao discreetly made their way to the parking lot and drove back to Chen Hao's place.
Upon entering, Chen Hao chuckled, "Come in and take a seat. You know, this is your first time visiting my home. Feel free to drop by whenever you like in the future."
Stepping inside, Jiang Shi expressed her surprise, "This is where you live?"
"Why, shouldn't I live here?" Chen Hao asked with a smile.
"No, it's just a bit too..." Jiang Shi trailed off, finding the place uncharacteristically tidy for a bachelor's apartment.
Chen Hao's apartment boasted two bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a balcony, spanning nearly a hundred square meters. It was fully furnished and equipped, extravagantly so for an average college student.
What struck her most was the immaculate floor and the meticulous arrangement of everything, reminiscent of a room in a five-star hotel.
After a brief tour, Jiang Shi exclaimed, "You're tall and handsome, top of your class in academics and sports, you've got a great personality, and you're a whiz at household chores. No wonder there's a whole sports field's worth of people at Irethhone University lining up to chase after you."
"But am I not still single?"
"That's on you..." Jiang Shi began, but a blush crept across her cheeks, and she lowered her head, unable to finish her thought.
The room grew tense, the air thickening as if the temperature had risen several degrees.
Chen Hao handed Jiang Shi a cup of tea, prompting her to say, "Don't you have some medicine? Why haven't you taken it yet?"
"Heh, no hurry. I'll take care of it after my shower."
"Well, then go shower already!" Jiang Shi exclaimed, only to catch the mischievous grin on Chen Hao's face. Realizing she'd been duped once more, she muttered, "Pervert."
"Oh? How exactly am I a pervert?" Chen Hao asked, his smile widening.
"Just go shower!" Jiang Shi retorted, giving him an annoyed look as her face flushed.
Chen Hao stopped his teasing and began to undress on his way to the bathroom.
"Wait until you're inside to undress!" Jiang Shi called out after him, flustered.
"Oops, my apologies, it's a habit," Chen Hao replied, though by then he was already shirtless.
Jiang Shi's face turned crimson as she caught a glimpse of his broad, muscular back. She quickly averted her gaze, yet found her eyes drawn back to him.
Reaching the bathroom door, Chen Hao looked back with a sly grin and teased, "Care to join me?"
"Drop dead!"
When Chen Hao emerged from his shower, clad only in a towel around his waist, Jiang Shi's face flushed anew.
He was holding a label-less plastic bottle, presumably the medicine he had mentioned.
"Let me help you with that," Jiang Shi offered, her embarrassment forgotten at the sight of the gruesome wounds on Chen Hao's arms, her eyes welling with tears.
Chen Hao took a seat on the sofa, allowing her to apply the medicine.
A few moments later, Jiang Shi, puzzled, remarked, "This medicine feels so sticky and slick."
"True, it can even double as lubricant when necessary," Chen Hao quipped.
Jiang Shi blushed deeply and huffed, "Seems like you're quite experienced, aren't you?"
"Heh, guess?"
"I'm not about to guess that kind of mess," Jiang Shi said, having just finished applying the medicine. She noticed Chen Hao's intense gaze fixed on her as the space between them steadily diminished.
Her breath caught in her throat. As the scent of Chen Hao's body wash reached her, she felt the warmth of his breath by her ear, accompanied by his deep, magnetic voice: "So, take a guess—am I wearing anything under this towel or not?"
