C19 What a Coincidence!

Upon receiving the private message, Qin Fen was at a loss for words. He made his living by selling items, not by teaching courses.

He skimmed through the messages but found nothing of value. Just as he was about to disable the notifications, a message from someone named Liu caught his eye: "Kid, you dare to compete with me for a woman? You must have a death wish."

Qin Fen's expression chilled. Clearly, the person was referring to Zhao Mengqian and her sister. What a situation—before the parties involved had even spoken, where did this troublemaker come from?

"Kid, where did you come from, stirring up trouble like this? If we were face to face, you'd be hanging from a streetlamp by now."

On the other end of the internet, Liu Dongfang, a wealthy heir, was fuming in his villa's bedroom. The moment he read the reply, he was so furious that he hurled his phone across the room.

"Liu Dongfang's shock value +300."

Qin Fen couldn't suppress a chuckle at the notification.

"Looks like this Liu character is also scrolling through Weibo."

Suddenly, a series of knocks echoed at the door, followed by Su Rou's gentle voice: "Qin, are you awake?"

Qin Fen's cheeks flushed with embarrassment as he recalled the last time he and Su Rou had locked eyes while he was deep in thought about the system.

"I just woke up," he replied sheepishly.

"Qin, could you walk me out later?" Su Rou asked from outside, her voice tinged with shyness and her cheeks flushed.

She was concerned about being misunderstood by classmates they might encounter, but after recalling the incident with the young men in white shirts, Su Rou felt she had no choice but to seek Qin Fen's company. Secretly, she was pleased to do so; Qin Fen had looked so dashing when he had fought before.

"Uh..." Qin Fen hesitated upon hearing her request.

What would their classmates think if they saw them together? Besides, the incident with Zhao Mengyue and her sister had already spread online. If he went to school with Su Rou now, rumors would likely swirl that he was involved with multiple girls.

Feeling anxious without a response, Su Rou's voice carried a touch of sadness from outside the door, "Qin, if this is too much trouble, we can just forget about it."

Upon hearing her tone, Qin Fen immediately sensed that Su Rou was feeling down. He quickly responded with a reassuring smile, "Uh, sure, just give me a moment."

Su Rou's spirits lifted instantly at his words. "Okay, Qin, I'll wait for you," she said cheerfully.

Then, as if something else had occurred to her, she added hastily, "Qin, if you're tied up with something, I can swing by later."

Her cheeks flushed with a renewed warmth as she finished speaking.

Five minutes later, Qin Fen and Su Rou exited the residential complex together.

No sooner had they passed the entrance than they spotted a group of young men in white shirts lurking in a corner, exuding an air of menace.

The passersby looked on with silent indignation, none daring to confront these loafers.

Qin Fen couldn't help but laugh at the sight of them. "What's the matter, you mutts? Still sore about the beating I gave you yesterday? Looking for a rematch?"

Baldy shuddered at his words, stammering, "Big brother, we were wrong. We're just passing through."

Baldy was terrified of Qin Fen. He had thought he could steer clear of trouble, but fate had other plans, bringing him face-to-face with Qin Fen once more.

Qin Fen gave him a disdainful glance. "Hand over all your money, or you'll regret it," he demanded.

Su Rou, standing beside him, tugged at Qin Fen's arm, a hint of fear in her voice. "Qin, let's not stoop to their level. We need to get to school," she urged.

The thugs nodded eagerly, grateful for Su Rou's intervention.

Qin Fen considered her words and nodded in agreement, recognizing the wisdom in her suggestion. The thugs' faces lit up with relief, but their joy was short-lived. Qin Fen's expression hardened as he pointed at them and commanded, "I'm short on time. You have twenty seconds to hand over all your cash and anything else of value, or I'll make sure your heads are the last of your worries."

The delinquents were dumbfounded by Qin Fen's ultimatum. Recalling his formidable skills, they realized resistance was futile. Without hesitation, they handed over all their valuables.

"Big brother, these are all the valuables I have on me. Please don't look down on them." Baldy quickly produced two packs of soft Chunghwa cigarettes and a box of cigars from his pockets.

Having learned from yesterday's incident, Baldy instructed his crew not to carry cash anymore to avoid being robbed by Qin Fen again. But when Qin Fen mentioned he wanted good stuff, it was clear that money wasn't the only thing on the table.

Qin Fen's lips curled into a satisfied smile as he pulled out another black plastic bag from his space and collected all the so-called good items, regardless of their quality.

After securing the plastic bag and stowing it away, Qin Fen cast a glance at Baldy and his group, chuckling, "Smart move. Su Rou, we're leaving. And you lot better not cross my path again, or I'll rob and beat you every time I do."

Watching Qin Fen and Su Rou vanish before his eyes, Baldy's fists tightened, and a vicious glint shone in his eyes.

"Big brother, are we really going to let this slide? That's unacceptable. We're known around here, and if we let this continue, we'll lose all our respect," a bespectacled thug said with urgency.

"Don't worry, we're not going to let it end like this. Let the kid strut around for a couple of days. He's so skilled in combat, he's got to have psionic power. We'll find someone with similar abilities to take him down," Baldy replied with a cold laugh, rubbing his bald spot.

"My brother, a man of few words but fierce action," the glasses-wearing thug praised, giving a thumbs-up.

Qin Fen and Su Rou enjoyed a lively conversation on their way to school.

Upon entering the classroom, the students no longer scorned Qin Fen as they had before, yet none of them made any effort to engage with him.

They still believed that despite Qin Fen's awakening of a superhuman strength, his innate talent remained the same – the lowest of the low. Even with two psionic powers, his potential was capped. Ultimately, he was still destined to be just an ordinary person.

It's like someone learning to write with both hands; they might be ambidextrous, but if the quality of their handwriting doesn't improve, their potential remains unchanged.
