C12 The Two Million Contract

"Lin Sheng, don't boast," Cheng Yunfei chided gently as she tugged at Lin Sheng's arm, a subtle reminder to be cautious with his words.

Previously, Lin Sheng had made a similar boast, but neither he nor Zhao Juann had taken it seriously, dismissing it as Lin Sheng's attempt to prove himself. However, with outsiders now present, Lin Sheng's unrestrained boasting could lead to increased ridicule if word got out. Cheng Yunfei's admonition was in Lin Sheng's best interest.

Lee Dong, upon hearing Lin Sheng's claim, didn't show the slightest concern; instead, a mocking smile crept across his face. "Lin Sheng, you're quite the force to be reckoned with, able to secure business with Tiankang Pharmaceutical? That's news to me."

Lin Sheng responded with a cold snort, "Is Tiankang Pharmaceutical your family business? Am I supposed to report everything to you?"

Lee Dong's face tensed. Tiankang Pharmaceutical was a commercial giant, and its owner had secured a spot among the top ten on the Forbes list for the Sino Nation. Though Lee Dong was a department manager there, he was, in the grand scheme of the company, insignificant.

"Hmph!" Lee Dong's expression darkened with anger. "You, a well-known failure, what right do you have to mock me? Do you really think you can secure a contract with Tiankang Pharmaceutical? You probably couldn't even get through the front door!"

Seeing Lee Dong's temper flare, Zhao Juann worried he might storm off, jeopardizing their family's potential contract. She quickly joined in the rebuke, "Little Dong is right. You have no skills other than boasting, it seems. Keep your mouth shut, or I'll have you thrown out today!"

Unfazed by Lee Dong and Zhao Juann's tirades, Lin Sheng turned to Cheng Yunfei and confidently assured her, "Yunfei, trust me. Within a week, there will be a resolution to this matter."

Lin Sheng spoke with such sincerity that Cheng Yunfei found herself momentarily at a loss for words.

Lee Dong yelled from the side, "He's been with your family for so long. If he were really that capable, would your family have fallen on such hard times?"

The previously noisy room fell silent, with only the sound of Lin Sheng's ringtone filling the space.

Lin Sheng picked up the phone and was surprised to see it was Liu Yunhua calling. Could it be that there was news from Tiankang Pharmaceutical?

"President Liu, how did things go?"

"Mr. Lin, the task you entrusted to me has been accomplished!"

Liu Yunhua's respectful voice came through the phone. "The two-million-yuan contract with Tiankang Pharmaceutical has been secured. They've agreed to partner with the Cheng family. You can sign the contract anytime!"

"Great! Thank you, President Liu. We'll come to sign the contract first thing tomorrow morning."

Lin Sheng felt a surge of excitement as he answered the call, but despite the good news, he remained composed.

She, too, had Liu Yunhua's number.

Now, comparing the phone numbers, Zhao Juann was certain that the person who had just called Lin Sheng was indeed Liu Yunhua!

Zhao Juann was ecstatic, grabbing Cheng Yunfei's arm and exclaiming, "We're saved now!"

Cheng Yunfei's face lit up with happiness. When it came to financial matters, her mother was anything but careless. She had confirmed the contract was sound, which eased half of the worry weighing on Cheng Yunfei's mind.

Then, Zhao Juann's thoughts raced further.
