C2 The Three Giant Beasts Actually Couldn't Beat Bai Mang!

Three massive Demonic Beasts with considerable intelligence encircled the tree, their gaze fixed intently on Bai Mang, who was perched above them.

The trio bore the scars of a recent, brutal skirmish. Yet, in this moment, they set aside their past conflicts, united in their resolve to confront Bai Mang.

The eyes of the Giant Wolf flashed with a sudden ferocity. With a powerful leap from its hind legs, it soared six meters up and clambered onto the tree, its claws digging fiercely into the bark.

But even with such effort, it fell short of reaching Bai Mang, let alone the stoutest branch below her.

From her lofty vantage point fifty meters high, Bai Mang couldn't help but feel a surge of satisfaction.

She had secured a supremely strategic position.

In the language of beasts, she called out, "You invade my domain, bristling with hostility. Do you seek battle with me?"

As she spoke, she began to descend, not to confront the Demonic Beasts directly, but to dislodge the Giant Wolf.

The Giant Wolf, initially elated at Bai Mang's descent, sensed danger when she abruptly halted her approach.

In an instant, a jade-white tail lashed out, striking it squarely on the head.

Yelping in pain, the Giant Wolf was sent tumbling from the tree, landing with a thud that left it reeling and disoriented.

It took the beast a good ten seconds to stagger to its feet.

Enraged, the Giant Wolf growled menacingly, its claws gouging deep furrows into the earth.

The Giant Tiger, with its superior Spiritual Intelligence, assessed the situation and proposed a deal in the beast tongue, "Hand over the treasure, and we'll leave you in peace. Facing three Demonic Beasts, do you really fancy your odds? Remember, you're not the only one adept at tree-climbing."

The Giant Tiger had a point. While the Giant Wolf's arboreal skills were lacking, both the Giant Tiger and Giant Bear were proficient climbers.

Unfazed, Bai Mang flicked her tongue and retorted in beast speak, "I've already consumed that item. Leave now, or you'll never make it out of my territory alive."

With the high ground on her side, Bai Mang's likelihood of victory increased.

Now aware of the Giant Wolf's poor climbing ability, she shifted her focus to the remaining Giant Tiger and Giant Bear.

The Giant Tiger issued a low growl, "You seem unwilling to part with the treasure. With its immense energy, how could you possibly consume it alone? Surely, if you did, you'd be unconscious by now. You must have it stashed away."

"Sorry, but I truly did eat the treasure. It's just that my system has already expended much of its energy," Bai Mang lamented inwardly.

Had her system not absorbed the bulk of the Golden Fruit's power, she would undoubtedly still be in a stupor, left to digest the fruit's potency by instinct alone.

The Giant Tiger's keen intellect had taken Bai Mang by surprise, likely the mastermind behind their alliance.

The Giant Bear, though somewhat clever, was less of a concern.

It attempted to stealthily ascend the tree, believing Bai Mang wouldn't notice. But she was well aware.

"If you refuse to leave, don't fault me for retaliating," Bai Mang warned, her massive tail sweeping with a whoosh, striking the Giant Bear's head with a resounding thump.

"Does this Giant Bear have nothing between its ears?" Bai Mang mused as she deftly entangled the bear with her tail and flung it toward the unsuspecting Giant Wolf, which had been furiously roaring at her.

By the time the Giant Wolf regained its bearings, the colossal frame of the Giant Bear was already hurtling down upon it.

It attempted to dodge, but it was too late.

Pain shot through the Giant Wolf, while the Giant Bear was left reeling and dizzy.

"The challenge has commenced. You have a set time to slay the Giant Wolf, Giant Bear, and Giant Tiger."

"The countdown begins: 20 minutes."

"Upon successful completion of the challenge, you will earn a 1.5 times bonus to your merit points, lasting two hours."

As Bai Mang dispatched the Giant Bear, a system notification materialized in her mind.

"Do I really need to take down these three behemoths in 20 minutes?" Bai Mang pondered, sensing the difficulty of the challenge.

To meet the challenge, the likelihood of sustaining injuries would certainly rise. Yet, with her current strategy, she could largely avoid harm, especially given her advantageous position on the terrain.

Bai Mang flicked her tongue, contemplating her next move.

Meanwhile, the Giant Tiger had backed off a hundred meters before accelerating toward the Golden Fruit Tree, seemingly intent on using its momentum to strike at Bai Mang.

The Giant Wolf, having extricated itself from beneath the Giant Bear, also charged at her.

The Giant Bear alone persisted in its futile attempt to scale the tree.

Bai Mang understood now why the strongest among them, the Giant Bear, was the most injured—it was simply too dim-witted.

After toppling the Giant Bear with a flick of her tail, Bai Mang targeted the leaping Giant Tiger, delivering a tail slap squarely to its head and forcefully grounding it.

The Giant Tiger's gaping maw snapped shut, likely dislodging its teeth in the process.

But before Bai Mang could turn her attention to the Giant Wolf, it pounced, biting down on her tail as she drew it back.

The piercing teeth broke through Bai Mang's scales and sank into her flesh, the scent of blood driving the Giant Wolf into a frenzy as it clamped down harder.

Yet Bai Mang was no pushover.

Bitten, she retaliated by slamming the Giant Wolf against a tree.

How could these Demonic Beasts, with their rudimentary tactics, ever hope to best her?

As the Giant Tiger leaped, aiming for a stealthy strike, Bai Mang was ready, striking it mid-air. In its confusion, it ended up biting the Giant Wolf instead.

With the two forces tugging, the Giant Wolf was rendered utterly unconscious.

Its jaws, once clamped on Bai Mang's tail, now slackened.

The Giant Wolf collapsed to the ground like a discarded sack, stirring up a cloud of dust. Bloodied and barely clinging to life, it lay defeated.

Undeterred by the Giant Wolf's demise, the Giant Tiger sprang up once more, launching another assault on Bai Mang.

Bai Mang held the high ground, and with the Giant Wolf out of the picture, the Giant Tiger was the only one left to challenge her.

The Giant Tiger's end was inevitable.

Bai Mang struck its head with her tail, seizing the moment of its disorientation to coil around it and unleash a barrage of attacks.

The Giant Tiger was drenched in blood, its teeth shattered, and even the unfortunate Golden Fruit Tree bore a small dent from the ferocity of Bai Mang's assault.

However, just then, the persistent Giant Bear, after its laborious climb, finally reached Bai Mang's side.

But Bai Mang was far from caught off guard.

She had never forgotten she faced three foes.

Now, with two enemies vanquished, Bai Mang no longer had to be wary of any threat.

With a swift flick of her serpentine tail, Bai Mang knocked the Giant Bear to the ground. She then clamped her jaws around its neck and coiled around it tightly.

The immense pressure caused the Giant Bear's internal organs to bleed profusely.

In a final act of desperation, the bear mustered the last of its strength to bite at Bai Mang, but it was a futile effort.

Bai Mang remained the victor in the end.

"Mission completed. Your completion time is 13 minutes and 21 seconds."

"Your reward has been granted. By slaying the Giant Tiger, Giant Bear, and Giant Wolf, you've earned 12 Merit Points. An additional 6 Merit Points are awarded for successfully completing the challenge, bringing your total to 18 Merit Points."

As Bai Mang feasted on the Giant Bear, the voice of the system resonated with her.
