C22 The Drug Went Bad

As Changshun teetered on the brink of losing his composure, a thunderous roar exploded in his mind, nearly sending his soul flying and splitting his head with pain. The inappropriate fantasies that had crept in were instantly banished as he clutched his head and tumbled to the side.

Changshun was in no mood for intimacy, but Ling Kemiao was another story; the drug coursing through her veins wouldn't let her rest. When Changshun suddenly moved away, her discomfort only intensified, prompting her to inch closer to him until she was pressed against his body.

Changshun was suffering, having been drugged himself. Unlike Lee Xian's vile concoctions, his assailants had merely slipped him a laxative, leaving him with an agonizingly upset stomach.

Now, with his insides churning tumultuously, Changshun was desperate for the bathroom. But with no strength in his body and Ling Kemiao clinging to him, demanding to be close, the bathroom seemed an impossible destination.

"What... What's happening to me?" he wondered aloud.

The belle's silvery laugh resonated in his mind. "You had it coming! Didn't you know to watch out for scoundrels? Those two rascals spiked your drink with a laxative. And this woman, she's been drugged and is in distress. If you don't do something, she'll suffer. Otherwise, you might as well take advantage of the situation."

"What are you saying? If you're suggesting I 'eat her,' why did you shout at me?"

"Oh? I didn't shout at you. You must be hallucinating."

Changshun paused, reflecting on the voice that had bellowed at him. It was indeed robust and didn't resemble a woman's voice at all.

"If it wasn't you, then is there another voice in my head?"

"Hmm? Could it be... Ugh! What an annoying sensation. You're on your own now. Find a bathroom before you have an accident. Hahaha..."

The belle teased Changshun before her voice gradually faded away. Despite his calls, there was no response, and he was left with no choice but to make his way to the bathroom. It was a struggle, but he managed to reach his destination, only to find Ling Kemiao had followed him there.

Her state was even more disheveled than Changshun's.

To snap her out of it, Changshun decisively led her to the washroom sink, turned on the faucet, and dunked her head under the cold stream. The shock of the cold water was meant to jolt her back to consciousness.

Ling Kemiao, whose senses had been overwhelmed by her body's reactions, finally began to come around.

"Let me go."

"At last, you're back with us. Do as you please, I need to..."

Suddenly feeling an urgent need, Changshun awkwardly scurried to the toilet, legs tightly crossed.

Catching her reflection in the mirror, Ling Kemiao's cheeks flushed with shame, yet her physical state showed no signs of improvement.

Understanding what had transpired, she no longer dwelled on the details. She grabbed a bucket nearby, filled it with water, and doused herself.

Before completely losing her senses, she hurried to her office, where a small rest area contained a modest shower facility.

Ling Kemiao turned on the shower and let the cold water cascade over her feverish body until she was shivering and huddled up.

The drug's influence had its limits; after several minutes under the cold shower, Ling Kemiao passed out.

Changshun found her lying on the floor, drenched, with her torn clothes clinging to her, accentuating her delicate figure.

He swallowed hard before retrieving clothes from the cabinet to cover Ling Kemiao and then placed her on the bed.

Having dealt with the situation, and wary of Lee Xian waking up and causing a commotion, Changshun took precautionary measures. He stripped Lee Xian and snapped several compromising photos with his phone. Only then did he release him and contacted Zhu and the others via walkie-talkie.

With the crisis averted, they both breathed a sigh of relief.

"I never expected something like this to happen. Thankfully, it didn't interfere with our plans, or else..."

"We won't mention it. I doubt he'll find out. It was just a case of diarrhea, after all."

Hei and Zhu exchanged glances, both feeling a twinge of guilt.

Lee Xian was the first to regain consciousness. Realizing his scheme had been thwarted, he wasted no time in verbally lashing out at Changshun.

"You despicable security guard, mark my words, you're going to regret this."

Changshun unlocked Lee Xian's phone.

"This contains evidence of your crime. If we take Miss Ling to the hospital now, I'm sure they'll still find traces of the drug in her system."

"You! Yes, you, you mongrel! You're the one who set me up, you drugged Ling Kemiao, and then tried to take advantage of her. I'm here because I wanted to save her."

It's truly astounding how brazen some people can be.

Instead of getting angry, Changshun couldn't help but laugh.

"Oh, what an unfortunate coincidence for you. Your phone was recording while you were spouting that filth. Do you think the police will believe your story, or will they believe this video?"

Lee Xian was at a loss for words.

"If I were you, I'd get out of here right now, or else you're looking at jail time."

A vicious glint appeared in Lee Xian's eyes as he lunged at Changshun, attempting to reclaim his phone.

Changshun was quicker; he dodged and swept Lee Xian's legs, knocking the debauched rich kid to the ground.

He planted his foot on Lee Xian's face.

"Still feeling bold?"

"No... I'm not."

"Do you still dare to drug and defile innocent women?"

"No... I won't."

Changshun's words flowed more easily as he spoke, reflecting on how he'd been treated like a nobody by these wealthy types. He had no outlet for his frustration until now, taking it out on Lee Xian.

"You're being very cooperative. Now, call me Grandpa Changshun, or I'll make sure you do."

"No, please, don't. Grandpa Changshun, have mercy!"

Lee Xian was indeed a coward.

Once he realized he was no match for Changshun, he turned into a spineless wretch.

Satisfied, Changshun stepped off and gave him a kick.

"Scram!"

Lee Xian fled, tumbling and crawling.

Meanwhile, Ling Kemiao in the lounge was coming to her senses.

The drug was still in her system, but with a strong will, she wouldn't collapse as she had before at the sight of a man.

"I..."

"Miss Ling, if you're feeling unwell, I can drive you to the hospital right away. You don't look too good," Changshun offered as he approached the bedside.

Ling Kemiao's face was flushed, but it was unclear whether it was from the drug's effects or from the embarrassment of being seen in such a state by Changshun.

"No, that won't be necessary. I believe I'll recover shortly."

Lee Xian had indeed drugged her, but he had been cautious not to use too much, fearing the consequences.

Having brushed against Changshun earlier helped Ling Kemiao alleviate some of the drug's potency, and the cold water she used afterward further diminished its effects.

"Thank you!"

As Changshun was about to walk away, Ling Kemiao spoke in a whisper so faint it was almost inaudible.

Changshun heard her, yet he felt somewhat unsatisfied.

He turned back, with a hint of mischief, to tease Ling Kemiao.

"What was that you said?"
