C6 I'm Going to Cut the Price!

When Soong Jie saw Zhang Nan appear before him, his legs gave out, and he collapsed to the ground.

Zhang Nan let out a cold laugh and kicked Soong Jie down, grinding his face underfoot.

"How does it feel, Soong Jie? Recognize this feeling? Do you have any idea how I endured it? Savor the humiliation," Zhang Nan taunted as he continued to press his foot against Soong Jie's face.

Eventually, Gao Lan couldn't bear to watch any longer and announced, "Enough, I declare Zhang Nan the winner."

Upon hearing Gao Lan's proclamation, Zhang Nan released his foot, sheathed Skycleaver, and stepped off the stage.

Murong Wan approached Zhang Nan, grinning. "You really gave me a sense of relief, Zhang Nan. Soong Jie has been bothering me nonstop. Haha, it's so satisfying to see him put in his place."

Zhang Nan responded with an embarrassed smile.

Afterward, several contestants took on the challenge against the other top ten disciples, but all were defeated.

Once the challenges concluded, Murong Le stepped forward, smiling. "With the challenges complete, I now announce the ten participants in the Grand Tournament of the Hundred Academies: Liu Tian, Wang Chen, Sun Yao, Murong Wan... and finally, Zhang Nan."

Murong Le continued, "You ten should get ready. In three days, the Grand Tournament begins. Should any of you place in the top ten, not only will you gain early admission to Asden Academy, but Azure Academy will also provide a reward. You'll find out what it is once you make it to the top ten."

With that, Murong Le vanished in a flash.

Watching Murong Le disappear, Zhang Nan couldn't help but express his admiration, "Truly, he's one of the top five masters in Sunhaven."

Murong Wan, hearing this, couldn't hide her pride. "Naturally, my father is soon to be a Nascent Soul Stage master."

"Absolutely, your father is the greatest," Zhang Nan agreed, smiling.

"Hmph, of course he is," Murong Wan replied with a self-satisfied snort.

Zhang Nan simply nodded in agreement.

Upon seeing Zhang Nan nod, Murong Wan's face lit up with a smile. "We have three days until the Grand Tournament of the Hundred Academies begins. Do you have any plans for this time?" she inquired.

Zhang Nan was about to say he was busy, but the hopeful look in Murong Wan's eyes made him relent. "No, nothing at all," he admitted.

"Great! Then you can spend the day with me. Let's enjoy ourselves and relax. I'll come find you tomorrow," she said cheerfully.

With those words, Murong Wan hurried off, seemingly worried that Zhang Nan might change his mind.

Once back in his room, Zhang Nan set his mind to cultivating. With just three days left, he had no intention of squandering his time. He dedicated the entire night to his practice.

The next morning, a persistent knocking startled Zhang Nan awake. He ended his meditative state with a frown, opened the door with a hint of irritation, and said coldly, "Why are you knocking...?"

He stopped mid-sentence upon seeing Murong Wan at the door.

"Did I wake you up?" Murong Wan asked, picking up on his annoyance and wondering if she had disturbed his rest.

Zhang Nan quickly dispelled his anger and chuckled, "No, not at all. I just thought you were someone else." He then warmly welcomed her into his room.

After making sure Murong Wan was comfortable, Zhang Nan swiftly changed his clothes and announced, "We should get going."

Murong Wan's eyes sparkled as she took in Zhang Nan's appearance. "You know, I just realized how handsome you are," she commented.

Zhang Nan simply smiled at her compliment.

Together, they left the academy and meandered through the bustling streets. Passersby from the Azure Academy cast envious glances their way.

Murong Wan was like a child in a candy store, her energy never waning as she flitted from shop to shop with unbridled enthusiasm.

Meanwhile, Zhang Nan browsed the street stalls. His family wasn't wealthy, and his allowance was modest, making the shops beyond his means. The stalls were where he could afford to shop.

It was then that Zhang Nan's gaze fell upon a Prismatic Shard. As he looked at it, the jade pendant at his chest stirred unexpectedly.

Zhang Nan glanced at the shopkeeper, then pointed to a shattered spirit artifact lying next to the Prismatic Shard and asked, "How much for this damaged spirit artifact?"

The shopkeeper eyed Zhang Nan before responding, "One thousand."

"One thousand? Isn't that a bit steep?" Zhang Nan said with a furrowed brow.

Just then, Murong Wan noticed Zhang Nan squatting by a street stall and approached him curiously. She eyed the broken spirit weapon in his hands and said, "Zhang Nan, why are you buying this? I have plenty of these; you can just take them. Come on, let's check out the clothing store next door."

The stall owner, not wanting to lose a potential sale to Murong Wan's offer, quickly interjected, "Name your price."

Without hesitation, Zhang Nan replied, "Five hundred."

"No way, five hundred won't even cover my costs. Let's settle on seven hundred, and I can't go any lower," the stall owner countered firmly.

Zhang Nan nodded, then picked up the Prismatic Shard from the shelf and proposed, "Seven hundred for both of these together. If that works, I'll take them. If not, I'll look elsewhere. You're not the only one selling these items, after all."

The stall owner, realizing the Prismatic Shard wasn't particularly valuable, felt a twinge of glee and conceded, "Alright, alright, I'll take the hit and sell them to you."

Zhang Nan accepted the two items and promptly stored them away.

Murong Wan, eager to move on, urged, "Come on, let's hurry and check out the clothes. Why bother with these things?"

With that, she pulled Zhang Nan towards the clothing store.

Once there, Murong Wan tried on a pink casual outfit and asked with a smile, "Does it look good on me, Zhang Nan?"

He nodded with a smile and affirmed, "It looks great."

She then slipped into a black casual outfit and inquired, "And this one?"

"It looks great," Zhang Nan repeated.

After she had changed outfits six times, Murong Wan asked in exasperation, "Can't you say anything besides 'it looks good'? Isn't there anything you don't like?"

Zhang Nan was utterly bewildered. He had never been shopping with a girl before and couldn't have imagined the ordeal. To him, it was as intense as an epic battle.

At last, Murong Wan purchased all the outfits that Zhang Nan had complimented as looking nice.

As they were checking out, Zhang Nan froze in shock—the six sets of clothes amounted to a staggering 100,000 yuan.

Coming from a modest background, there was no way Zhang Nan could come up with that kind of money.

It was at this moment, utterly at a loss, that Zhang Nan didn't know what to do next.
