C9 A Yin Residence Geomancy

After dialing the number, I was met with a voice prompt indicating that no one was available to take the call.

I paused, momentarily frozen, before trying the number again two or three times, only to be met with the same silence.

Could this person really just be a keyboard warrior?

Deciding not to call again, I got out of bed, used the bathroom, brushed my teeth, and freshened up. That's when Zhong Ling called. I hit the answer button and her voice came through promptly, "Hey security guard, I'm downstairs."

Snapping back to reality, I replied, "Hold on, beautiful, I'll be right there."

In about five minutes, I was downstairs.

My eyes immediately found Zhong Ling. She was wearing a form-fitting skirt that showcased her figure perfectly.

Her flesh-toned stockings accentuated her long, fair legs.

Standing there on the street, Zhong Ling effortlessly drew all eyes to her.

Passing men couldn't resist sneaking peeks at her.

I sometimes can't help but admit, my boss is truly a standout beauty.

Zhong Ling spotted me and waved in greeting. With a smile, I made my way over to her.

Once we met up, she hopped into the car and urged me, "What are you waiting for, security guard? Come on, get in."

Regaining my composure, I opened the door and quickly settled into the car.

"Why so early today?" I asked.

"You wanted to know if my family had any enemies, right? Well, it's the weekend, so I thought I'd take you to meet my parents," Zhong Ling said nonchalantly, her lashes fluttering, adding to her vibrant appearance.

I had intended to meet Zhong Ling's parents, but now it seemed that could wait.

The message I received last night has led me to suspect that the person behind it must be someone Zhong Ling and I both know—someone from our company. I've been working as a security guard here for a while now, and even though I'm not in the office, I'm probably known by a few people around here.

The security company I worked for was no small operation, with a staff of over a hundred. Identifying the person pulling the strings in such a large group was clearly no simple task.

After mulling it over, I inquired, "Miss, who was the master you consulted for the geomancy of your grandfather's burial site?"

Zhong Ling hesitated, her face clouding with confusion. "I'll need to check with my parents on that."

It looked like I couldn't avoid a meeting with Zhong Ling's parents today.

Coincidentally, Grandpa Zhong's gravesite was also due for relocation, necessitating their input on the matter.

"Alright then, let's go meet your parents."

"Sure, that works. I've already invited them for breakfast, and they're probably at the diner waiting for us by now," she said, her face brightening with a smile.

Her smile was contagious, and I soon found myself feeling more cheerful.

Gazing out the window at the swiftly changing landscape, my mind wandered.

Perhaps I was a bit distracted when Zhong Ling, noticing a shift in my demeanor, asked, "What's on your mind, security guard?"

Snapping back to the present, I addressed her earnestly, "Miss, have you had any unpleasant run-ins with your coworkers lately?"

My direct question stemmed from a crucial reason.

When I examined Zhong Ling's 'servant palace' – a term in geomancy reflecting one's relationships with subordinates and colleagues – I detected no issues. However, I had a hunch that something was amiss, prompting me to ask if she had experienced any workplace conflicts.

In the company, Zhong Ling was always the center of attention, with nearly every male colleague harboring fantasies about her.

She responded promptly, "Look at me. How could I possibly be at odds with anyone at work?" Accompanying her words was a flirtatious wink.

Her response and playful gesture nearly overwhelmed me, yet I had to admit, she had a point.

After a half-hour drive, we reached a breakfast joint. The upscale facade made it clear this place was a cut above the rest.

After Zhong Ling parked the car, we both headed into the breakfast joint together.

It was a sizable place, sprawling over several hundred square meters, with a cleanliness that set it apart from the cramped eateries you'd find downtown.

I figured a meal here wouldn't come cheap.

Once inside, Zhong Ling's eyes quickly scanned the room. She gestured towards a direction, and my gaze followed to a middle-aged man seated at a round table, who appeared to be in his fifties.

Dressed in casual attire, I couldn't help but assess his zodiac signs.

Judging by his zodiac placement, it was clear he wasn't the type to toil away. My attention was drawn first to his wealth sector.

Located just above the nose, the man's nose was straight and unmarked by wrinkles, a clear indicator of someone who wasn't lacking in finances.

As I was taking this in, Zhong Ling called out, "Dad."

"Ling," he responded, his face lighting up with a smile as she approached.

I followed close behind and soon stood before Zhong Ling's father. If he was affluent, it suggested that Zhong Ling's family was doing well. So why would she need to be supported by the company's general manager?

"Dad, I want to introduce you to the master I hired. He's the one who cleared our home of those nasty things," Zhong Ling announced.

Her father then turned his inquisitive gaze on me, as if questioning whether someone as young as I could possess such skills.

"Oh, Master, this is my dad," Zhong Ling said.

I faced Zhong Ling's father and offered a polite, "Hello, Uncle."

"Take a seat, young man," he invited.

Zhong Ling settled in beside her dad and quickly inquired, "How about mom?"

"She's off getting a beauty treatment with some of your aunts, so she didn't make it," he explained.

"But mom's already so beautiful, she still goes for treatments?" Zhong Ling remarked.

Their conversation flowed easily, their faces beaming with smiles, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Meanwhile, I sat to the side, feeling somewhat like a third wheel.

Just then, Zhong Ling's father called over a waiter and turned to me with a courteous tone, "Young man, please feel free to order whatever you'd like."

"Okay, Uncle," I replied.

I glanced at the menu and requested a simple bowl of plain porridge, leaving it at that.

Zhong Ling, on the other hand, nonchalantly rattled off a hefty order. It was clear she wasn't someone who worried about money.

"Young man," her father began, "Ling tells me you're the one who cleared out all the unclean presences from her place, is that right?"

"Yes, for the most part. However, the issue isn't fully resolved yet."

"What do you mean by that?"

"Well, what I'm saying is, she—"

I was cut off mid-sentence by a sudden cough from Zhong Ling.

Caught off guard, I paused, momentarily lost for words.

Zhong Ling picked up where I left off, "Dad, the Master is suggesting that we should relocate Grandpa's grave to a new location."

Upon hearing this, the smile on Zhong Ling's father's face vanished completely.
