C2 Difficult Tasks

Old Wang's voice hesitated for a moment. "There are quite a few, but this one's a bit tricky."

In our small team, Old Wang handles data integration.

A question lingered in my mind: What kind of employer would make Old Wang describe a job as tricky? It seemed this task might be more challenging than usual.

"Why is it tricky this time?" I asked.

Old Wang faltered, struggling for words. "Well... the client isn't married yet, but he's engaged. He wants us to break up with his fiancée for him. He says her family's poor and can't help his business. He's got his eye on another girl, from a wealthier family. Can you handle it?"

I rubbed my forehead, feeling the complexity of the situation. Jobs involving the rich often paid well but were equally demanding. These were people accustomed to high-stakes deals; fooling them would require extra effort.

"Did you agree to it?" I inquired.

Seeing my resigned expression, Old Wang quickly responded, "Yes, I did. The deposit's already paid."

"Alright, get the data ready and send it over as soon as you can."

After hanging up, I headed for a shower, my mind swirling with uncertainties about the job. I was afraid the client would not go on a normal way and I would not be able to handle it.

Deciding to take a proactive approach, I resolved to handle whatever came my way, unpredictable as it might be.

After an early night's rest, unaware of the desperation this job would entail, I woke up to find Old Wang's file on my computer.

Lighting a cigarette, I scrutinized the two people on the screen.

Soon after, Old Wang called. "Meet with the client soon. We'll catch up at our usual spot," he said before hanging up abruptly. Our "usual spot" was a regular café where Old Wang had a good rapport with the owner. It was our standard meeting place with clients, and this time was no different.

Arriving at the café, I recognized the man opposite Old Wang. Even though I knew his information, seeing Liu Chengyu, the CEO of Fengmao Group, in person was still surprising. His youth and success were impressive.

Liu Chengyu, sipping his coffee, greeted us. "Mr. Shao, let's skip formalities. I understand this job's a hassle, so I've decided to add another 100,000 dollars to the payment."

Another 100,000 dollars? This bonus was unexpected, but I kept my composure, assuring him of our commitment. "Mr. Liu is so sincere, we will definitely do our best."

Liu Chengyu shared some basic information before leaving me with Old Wang.

"This coffee's bitter," Old Wang grimaced, sipping his drink. He then warned me about the delicate situation with Liu Chengyu's fiancée. "You should know that Liu Chengyu has gotten another lady, so he tries to kick his fiancée out. He was using up his fiancee, and now intends to throw her away. But this woman is not good to handle, she even committed suicide a while ago, so we must be careful. we have our own rules, we can't make any mistakes."

I understood the stakes. In our line of work, precision was crucial.

"Bin, the information's with you. Get ready."

Nodding, I checked my phone for Liu Chengyu's details.

The girl in the picture seemed naïve, unlikely to use drastic measures like suicide to keep a man. But as Old Wang and I drove to a secluded spot, I received a text from Liu Chengyu: it was done, we just got an argument.

The argument was arranged by us. I quickly made my way to the fork in the road, and I immediately recognized Xu Lu.

I spotted Xu Lu at the designated place. Her appearance, especially in her outfit, was striking but not quite aligned with her figure.

She was wearing a sling with a thin woolen thread tied to the outside. Below that, she was wearing a bun and skirt, vividly displaying her good figure.

She was lost in thought, walking on the road, did not notice the person who flew past, so she directly got hit hard!

She lost her balance and slammed into a large rock next to her. The surface of the rock was riddled with holes, and as expected, she fell down, breaking a large part of her leg. Soon after, it started to swell and some parts were covered with blood.

Rushing to her aid, I covered her injured leg with my suit, offering help. I whispered, "Are you alright, miss? Can you stand up? "

She declined to call anyone, playing right into our plan. "It's nothing, but I can't walk."

I pretended to be anxious and asked her, "I'll call your family to come and pick you up." I saw the calculating look in her eyes. Despite her innocent façade, she was shrewd.

When Xu Lu heard that someone was going to pick her up, the first person that came to mind was naturally Liu Chengyu. However, they had just had an argument, so she wouldn't call him.

She pressed my hand and said timidly, "Don't call."

I put away my phone helplessly, "If Miss doesn't mind, I can take you to treat your wounds."

Xu Lu's eyes lit up. She carefully sized me up and said, "Then I'll be troubling you."

Xu Lu was a young lady who grew up wealthily. She naturally knew that I was wearing a handmade suit that was worth quite a bit, and her eyes were still on the watch on my wrist. Although she looked pure and harmless, she was actually more shrewd than anyone else.

That was why she naturally handed onto my neck, her mouth softly whimpering, "It really hurts."

Her chest brushed against my chest and arms, which made me itch unbearably. It had been a while since I'd encountered such an intriguing target.

I secretly rejoiced in my heart. This job is rather simple, to be able to take the bait so easily.

I put one hand on her waist and the other on her shoulder. The thin coat suddenly slid down, revealing a pair of tender white shoulders, and gave off a faint fragrance. I looked at it for a moment before withdrawing my gaze and helping her to rearrange her coat.

Instead of going to the hospital, we went to a small clinic. Because Xu Lu was afraid of the hospital, I drove straight here.

"As a boyfriend, you have to be careful not to let the wound get wet. Be careful not to get infected." The doctor didn't even lift his head to write down the prescription. He obviously thought of me as Xu Lu's boyfriend. Who knew that Xu Lu would blush unnaturally and didn't retort. Naturally, I didn't say anything either.

When she came out, she asked me softly, "Why didn't you refute the doctor when he got it wrong?"

I smiled. "I don't mind him mistaking such a beautiful girl for my girlfriend."

Hearing this, Xu Lu's face blushed unnaturally. A woman on the verge of mental defense could not stand sweet words any longer and was easily defeated. She knew in her heart that Liu Chengyu was heartless and heartless, how could she not look for a man to protect and love her?

After coming out, I found that Xu Lu's medicated leg still hadn't recovered, so I pretended to be anxious and said to her, "Miss Xu, I think I'll take you to the hospital for a look. If I don't treat this wound, it will be troublesome."

As we left, I noticed her leg was still not fully healed. Feigning concern, I suggested a hospital visit, "Miss Xu, I think I'll take you to the hospital for a look. If I don't treat this wound, it will be troublesome." My true intentions were elsewhere. The job, it seemed, was unfolding smoothly.
