C20 A Cup of Tea

On that day, Miss Duan was in such a rush that she only had time for a quick cup of tea. Today, we have a bit more leisure. Why not enjoy some tea together and discuss calligraphy?" Jee Faang, aware that the four guests had come for the calligraphy, suggested this.

"That sounds wonderful," they enthusiastically responded.

Upon hearing Jee Faang's invitation to tea, they eagerly accepted, still regretting missing out on the master's porridge earlier.

"Please, take a moment to rest," Jee Faang said before heading inside to gather the tea set and leaves.

Duan Rou was thrilled at the prospect of having tea with Jee Faang.

"I apologize for the wait; I just fetched a bucket of water," Jee Faang said with a smile.

"Young Master Jee, you are too kind," they replied.

Bai Ningjun was inwardly astonished that Young Master Jee was personally boiling water for their tea, which filled her with an immense sense of awe and respect for his actions.

Jee Faang then set up a small stove on the tea table.

Duan Tongxuan, seated opposite, noticed that the tea set and stove Jee Faang used were of the highest quality, each piece a treasure of the Immortal World. They realized they had much to learn about the world of the masters.

As the stove heated the spiritual water, Jee Faang meticulously arranged the tea leaves and utensils.

After careful observation, Duan Tongxuan recognized that Jee Faang's tea set was the long-lost Hanxi white porcelain set, a surprise to find in the possession of a master.

Though not as imposing as the Violet Sand tea set, the white porcelain was perfect for deeply colored tea leaves, evoking a sense of serene delight. It was clear that the master preferred a stronger brew.

Duan Tongxuan, eyeing the tea leaf box, inquired, "I wonder, does Young Master Jee have a fondness for Yun Hai's Pu'er tea?"

"Elder Duan, you enjoy Pu'er tea as well?" Jee Faang asked, pleasantly surprised.

He was aware that raw Pu-erh tea had a strong bitter taste with a pure and elegant aroma, some even carrying a hint of honey. Its rich flavor and sweet aftertaste were not to everyone's liking.

"Today, we will be tasting Pu-erh tea," Jee Faang informed the four guests.

Noticing that the water in the stove was boiling, he poured out half of it and skillfully pre-warmed each cup with hot water.

He then placed the Pu-erh tea leaves into the lidded bowl and rinsed them with the boiling water before discarding it.

"Young Master Jee, why did you discard the tea? What a waste!" Duan Rou asked, puzzled.

"Daughter, the water used to rinse the tea leaves is not meant for drinking," Zhou Ruo, seated nearby, explained.

Hearing this, Jee Faang smiled and nodded in agreement. "It seems Elder Duan and his wife are not only well-versed in calligraphy but also in the art of tea."

Finally, Jee Faang poured boiling water into the lidded bowl, and after ten seconds, he decanted the tea into the corresponding cups.

With a gesture, Jee Faang invited everyone to partake in the tea.

Bai Ningjun watched, utterly captivated, thinking to herself how profound Young Master Jee's knowledge of tea was. Indeed, he was a true connoisseur!

Visiting the Immortal World today, she felt her life was complete.

Duan Tongxuan, observing Jee Faang's fluid tea brewing process, realized that his own tea appreciation skills paled in comparison to such a master.

Appreciating tea began with observing its color, then its aroma by lifting the cup and wafting the scent towards oneself.

Only after these steps should one taste the tea.

Duan Tongxuan took a small sip, finding a sweet note within the bitterness, as Spiritual Energy coursed through his body. Then, something incredible happened.

The tea, imbued with the Spirit of The Tao, had unexpectedly elevated him to a higher level.

"Second level of the Out-of-Body phase, Father has advanced, how wonderful," Duan Rou exclaimed upon witnessing Duan Tongxuan's progression, unable to contain her excitement.

Duan Tongxuan quickly pulled Duan Rou aside, signaling her to be more reserved.

Duan Rou playfully stuck out her tongue and fell silent.

...

"Thank you for the tea, Young Master Jee," Duan Rou and her companions expressed their gratitude.

"There's no need for such formality; it was merely a cup of tea," Jee Faang replied with a smile, looking at the four of them.

He mused to himself about the unusual politeness of modern Immortal Cultivators, finding the world quite peculiar.

"You're Immortal Cultivators. Do you have any effective methods for treating a child who has been frightened and is mentally distraught?" Jee Faang, reminded of Kangkang's situation, inquired.

Being Immortal Cultivators, they surely had numerous solutions at their disposal.

Upon hearing Jee Faang's request for assistance, Duan Tongxuan wasted no time in pondering a remedy.

Bai Ningjun quickly asked, "What caused this?"

"A rat demon fled and startled a young boy," Jee Faang explained.

"Is the boy a regular human?" Bai Ningjun inquired further.

"If so, that complicates matters."

"The spiritual medicines used by Immortal Cultivators can have adverse effects on ordinary people," Bai Ningjun clarified.
