C6 Chapter 6: Private Accounts

"How dare you speak so arrogantly? Xueqi, is this the 'prize' of a husband you picked out after dumping Zhang Peng? Quite the unique choice, haha!" Chiang Yu laughed until she cried, feeling a sense of triumph like never before.

Tang Xueqi's cheeks burned with embarrassment as she grabbed Luo Yun, fuming, "Happy now? You've made a spectacle of us, let's just go!"

"I can't leave yet, I still need to withdraw the money," Luo Yun said, locking eyes with Tang Xueqi. "I can actually produce a hundred million."

"I've heard people boast, but you take the cake," Chiang Yu taunted. "Fine, let's settle this. If you can actually cough up a hundred million, I'll call you 'Dad.' But if you can't..." She sneered, a scheme brewing in her mind, "then you'll admit you're a fool and crawl between my husband's legs!"

With that, Chiang Yu hastily messaged her husband to come over quickly.

Zhang Peng had been bitter for years about Tang Xueqi marrying rich instead of choosing him. Seeing her downfall now and getting a chance to embarrass her husband would surely delight him.

"This is childish," Luo Yun declared, uninterested in the petty wager.

But Chiang Yu, sensing leverage, goaded, "All talk and no guts to bet? Xueqi, looks like your husband isn't completely foolish after all. He knows better than to be humiliated, haha."

Tears welled up in Tang Xueqi's eyes as she clung to Luo Yun, "How far do you want to degrade us? Must I be utterly humiliated before you're satisfied?"

"I haven't deceived you," Luo Yun replied with resignation. "I just need to withdraw the money."

"You think you can withdraw a hundred million?" Chiang Yu scoffed.

Tang Xueqi clenched her jaw, "If you're so determined, why not take the bet?"

She was tired of being the only one stripped of dignity, all because of him.

"You want me to bet as well?" Luo Yun sighed. "Fine, I'll take the bet, but we're raising the stakes."

"A fool knows about raising stakes?" Chiang Yu's excitement peaked. "Go on, how do you want to raise it? Name it! I'll see it through to the end!"

She was confident of her victory; after all, the bankrupt Tang Xueqi, even before her financial collapse, would have struggled to produce a hundred million in cash.

Frustrated to her limit, Tang Xueqi was beyond trying to intervene.

Just then, a man strode in confidently—it was Chiang Yu's husband, Zhang Peng. "Raising the stakes, huh? Haha! You're good for nothing but big talk!"

His eyes lingered on Tang Xueqi, who had only grown more enchanting over the years. If not for Luo Yun's interference, she would have been his.

With a fiery glare, Zhang Peng declared, "If I lose, I'll not only leave Yunhai, but you can have my entire fortune! But if you lose, you'll kneel and crawl, and not just that—you'll lick my feet and divorce Tang Xueqi!"

"Sure," Luo Yun nodded.

The clamor of the wager drew the attention of the last few lingering customers in the bank. One recognized Luo Yun and remarked, "Isn't that Luo Yun, the once illustrious Young Master Luo? After his family's downfall, he lost his mind. To think we'd actually see him here, making such a bet!"

"He's a lunatic? That explains the fog in his head," the crowd murmured in sudden understanding.

"Did you catch what they're betting on? They're wagering whether this nutcase can cough up a hundred million! Look at him—dressed in rags. He wouldn't have a million to his name, much less a hundred million!"

"Maybe he doesn't even have ten thousand. Whose crazy relative is this, and why aren't they looking after him? The bank's really hit bad luck with this guy causing a scene."

"Bad luck? Are you kidding? This is entertainment! I've never seen anyone crawl through legs and lick feet before."

As the crowd buzzed with anticipation, eager to see Luo Yun kneel, Zhang Peng's excitement painted his cheeks a bright red. He shouted, "You all heard the bet! No one leave; stay and bear witness. We can't have him welching on the bet if he loses!"

"Alright!" the crowd echoed in agreement.

With feigned professionalism, Chiang Yu asked, "Sir, please present your bank card."

"I don't have a bank card," Luo Yun replied.

The crowd was in uproar!

Tang Xueqi, unable to contain herself, exclaimed with eyes brimming with frustration, "Without a bank card, how will you withdraw any money?"

"Is this guy for real? All talk and no substance?"

"He might as well be planning to rob the bank. There's no telling what a madman might do."

Laughter rippled through the onlookers.

Zhang Peng, standing triumphantly on a chair, gestured towards his crotch and taunted, "I knew you'd lose, but I never imagined winning would be this easy! Are you going to crawl through or shall I assist you?"

It was only then that a cold smirk played on Luo Yun's lips. "Ignorant. To think you're the son of a bank manager and yet you're clueless about private accounts."

"Who says I can't withdraw money without a bank card?" Luo Yun's voice boomed as he fixed his gaze on Chiang Yu.

Chiang Yu shuddered. He actually knew about private accounts! While the average person might be unaware, she, as a customer manager, was well-versed in what they signified. Only the most esteemed clients with massive deposits and significant influence were entitled to such accounts. For most, even hearing about them was rare. In the entire Yunhai City, a mere five individuals possessed a private account, each a prominent figure whose name every bank employee was expected to know. These elite clients had the privilege of simply using facial recognition at the bank. Yet, Luo Yun was not among those five.

Despite being momentarily unsettled by Luo Yun, Chiang Yu quickly regained her composure and scoffed, "Are you implying you have a private account with our bank?"

He must have overheard something about private accounts; after all, this 'madman' was once part of the rich second generation. It wasn't surprising he'd heard of them. But hearing and actually owning were worlds apart.

"Without a bank card, you can certainly withdraw funds, but you'll need to log into the private account yourself." Chiang Yu confidently produced an internal computer from the office and handed it to Luo Yun. "Log into your private account, and you'll have full access to manage the funds within."

Here's the equipment, now show us what you've got!

Let's see you keep up the charade!

Luo Yun accepted the computer and casually tapped the keys with his one-finger typing method. "Done."

"Pfft, hahaha, kid, are you trying to be a comedian?"

At that moment, Zhang Peng couldn't contain himself any longer and doubled over in laughter.

The others joined in, roaring with laughter. Just a few taps on the computer and he claims to have a hundred million?

He barely knows how to type! And he's talking about managing a private account?

As the laughter rang out, Tang Xueqi's face turned from bright red to ashen.

Why did she even come?

She should've left Luo Yun on the roadside to his own devices!

That would be better than being the butt of jokes in front of this crowd!

She felt like she had lost all her dignity from her childhood until now!

At that moment, she wished she could disappear!

"Ding!"

Just then, Tang Xueqi's phone vibrated with a new message from the bank: Your account ending in 4118 has received 1...

A string of digits unfurled!

Tang Xueqi's hands shook with excitement, nearly dropping her phone!

She rubbed her eyes hard and read aloud.

"One hundred million!"
