C2 This Was a Beast!
Xiao Tian gradually awoke from his sleep, his brow furrowing the moment he opened his eyes. He realized he wasn't on the secluded grassy spot where he'd initiated his "Dreamweaving" technique. Instead, he found himself on a wooden bed. Though the bed was quite basic, it was certainly more comfortable than the ground.
"Where am I?"
"Did someone move me here while I was deep in my 'Dreamweaving,' with my senses shut off?"
"Who brought me here?"
As Xiao Tian surveyed his surroundings with a frown, he pondered these questions. He sat up, feeling a slight twinge at the corner of his mouth.
"Well, my injuries aren't fully healed yet, but they're much better. I have to admit, those old folks at Stonethorn might not be the strongest, but their 'Dreamweaving' technique is impressive. It's excellent for healing. With a bit more rest, I should be back to full health."
Assessing his condition, Xiao Tian got out of bed. He looked around and noticed he was in a simple wooden cabin. Apart from the bed, there was only a wardrobe and a small table—nothing else.
"Hey, Xiao Tian, you're awake... Whew, I knew it, I just knew you'd pull through. They say only the good die young, but—no, no, I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like that. I'm not saying you're a troublemaker... although, you can be a bit of a rascal..." Just as Xiao Tian was getting out of bed, a big, burly teenager with a friendly, honest face burst through the door. Seeing Xiao Tian, he broke into a grin and started apologizing profusely, trying to explain himself but only digging a deeper hole.
"Who are you?" Xiao Tian asked, frowning at the hefty teenager.
"Uh, I'm Qin Wudi... Xiao Tian, you don't remember me?" The chubby teen scratched his head, looking puzzled.
"Qin Wudi?" Xiao Tian sized up the hefty teen.
"Yeah, that's me, Qin Wudi. Xiao Tian, you really don't remember me? Sure, it's been over six months since we last saw each other, but aside from getting a bit bulkier, I haven't changed much. Or maybe you still look down on me, thinking I'm not worth remembering?" The chubby teen nodded at Xiao Tian, then slumped his shoulders, looking quite upset.
"Do you know me?" Xiao Tian frowned. From his experience, he could tell the sadness in the chubby boy's eyes was genuine. This guy seemed to really recognize him.
What on earth was going on? How did his body end up like this, and how did this guy know him? And those people who had beaten him up earlier, along with the girl who called him 'second brother'?
Could it be... he had been reborn into someone else's body? This couldn't be real. Although he had heard of such things, he was a top-notch martial artist, and an uninjured one at that. Sure, people say your birth year can be risky, but waking up like this was a bit much.
"Of course I know you. We grew up playing together. But ever since you joined Doombrows, you haven't paid me any attention. Now you don't even remember my name..." Qin Wudi nodded eagerly, but his expression turned sad again.
"Tell me everything you know. Who am I? Where is this place? How do you know me?" Xiao Tian demanded, leaving no room for doubt.
"Huh? Xiao Tian, you don't know who you are? No way. Did you get hit on the head in a fight this time? Otherwise, how could you not know yourself? Wait, Xiao Tian, you aren't trying to trick me again, are you? I remember when we were kids, you pretended to have amnesia to get me to sneak with you to peek at Auntie bathing. When she caught us, you ran off, leaving me to almost get beaten to death by her..." Qin Wudi eyed Xiao Tian suspiciously, a hint of caution in his gaze.
"Xiao Tian."
Memory loss and peeking at someone in the shower? Xiao Tian couldn't see the connection between the two.
"Uh, well, I swear I'm not lying this time. I really have amnesia. Tell me everything you know about me..." Xiao Tian coughed awkwardly at Qin Wudi.
"You're not lying to me?"
"I'm really not."
"Swear it!" Qin Wudi eyed Xiao Tian suspiciously.
"Alright, I swear." Xiao Tian sighed, feeling a bit exasperated.
"That doesn't sound sincere at all. You must be lying." Qin Wudi took several steps back, his suspicion clearly growing.
"Hey, do you want a beating?" Xiao Tian glared at Qin Wudi with a menacing look, exuding an intimidating aura. Even though his strength seemed to have vanished, he could still muster the presence of a Supreme Master.
"Whoa..."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa..."
"Crash!"
Qin Wudi was so frightened by Xiao Tian's aura that he stumbled backward and fell to the ground. To him, Xiao Tian now seemed like a terrifying beast ready to pounce.
Under Xiao Tian's intimidation, Qin Wudi quickly spilled everything Xiao Tian wanted to know. After hearing it all, Xiao Tian was left speechless.
He had been reborn through possession! And not just any possession—he had crossed worlds and taken over a new body.
He couldn't understand it. All he did was fall asleep next to a girl, and suddenly he found himself in this place.
The continent of Sibruth.
Now, he was in Sibruth, not the familiar realm of Brohari. His name was still Xiao Tian, but this Xiao Tian was not the same as before. Although the old Xiao Tian didn't consider himself a saint, he wasn't this bad. The current Xiao Tian was, frankly, a total scoundrel.
Since the age of thirteen, he'd been causing trouble for girls, using every trick in the book. He'd committed numerous heinous acts, including orchestrating massacres for the sake of a girl, and he was ungrateful to his friends.
In front of him was the chubby teenager, Qin Wudi, who claimed to be Xiao Tian's childhood friend. The previous Xiao Tian often exploited Qin Wudi to do bad things, with Qin Wudi footing the bill for all their indulgences. However, once Xiao Tian joined Doombrows and showcased his exceptional martial arts talent, he ignored Qin Wudi. Qin Wudi, upon joining Doombrows, was deemed a martial arts failure and only became an Outer Sect disciple through connections, nowhere near Xiao Tian's status as a core disciple.
