C18 Titanforged Physique
The Celestial Bridge Realm commanded the awe-inspiring power of heaven and earth.
Every soul within the mansion was seized by an involuntary terror, as if crushed under an immense weight.
The guards at the entrance were paralyzed, watching helplessly as Cheng Wu strode in.
Such was the might of the Celestial Bridge Realm; a single individual could annihilate an elite troop, honed through countless battles and superbly equipped.
By chance, Pei Yuanhu and Ba Xia had arrived to address some lingering issues, and they, along with Liu Yue, hastened to the scene, ready for confrontation.
"Who might you be, sir?" Pei Yuanhu inquired with a grave tone.
"From the Cheng Family," Cheng Wu replied, his expressionless face betraying a hint of surprise. "To think there are two from the Celestial Bridge Realm here, but... you are still no match for me."
He was no novice to the Celestial Bridge Realm; his mastery over the forces of nature was profound, and he was confident he could dispatch them swiftly.
When he unleashed his power, it was nothing short of petrifying.
Like a colossal deity towering before them, he seemed capable of effortlessly crushing the very heavens and earth!
Liu Yue and her companions were under immense pressure, beads of cold sweat streaming down their foreheads.
Just as they braced for Cheng Wu's next cataclysmic blow, his aura vanished abruptly.
Cheng Wu's gaze turned icy as he looked into the distance.
High atop a tower, Wang Ye manned a spiritual cannon, its barrel aimed directly at Cheng Wu.
Widely read and worldly, Cheng Wu immediately recognized the artifact.
"The long-lost spiritual cannon!"
Wang Ye declared confidently, "A traveler from afar should be treated as a guest. Brother Cheng, why not stay a few days and enjoy yourself?"
A smile cracked Cheng Wu's stoic face. "Very well."
Wang Ye returned the smile, handed the spiritual cannon to an attendant with strict orders to keep Cheng Wu in sight, and then leaped down.
Approaching, he extended his hand. "Wang Ye."
"Cheng Wu."
Their handshake was firm. Wang Ye then instructed Liu Yue to prepare a feast and led Cheng Wu to the parlor.
As they took their seats, Cheng Wu maintained a veneer of composure, though inwardly he was on edge.
The subtle energy had been targeting him relentlessly, preventing him from letting his guard down for even a moment.
Wang Ye, however, was the picture of nonchalance, inviting him to share drinks and a meal as if all was well.
At the opportune moment, Wang Ye suddenly remarked, "Brother Cheng, your energy seems steady yet somewhat superficial. I suspect you may have encountered a setback in your earlier training."
Cheng Five's gaze sharpened. "How did you know?"
He was taken aback. He had concealed his condition with great care, so much so that even the Cheng Family Patriarch, whose strength was among the top ten in Aglausgow, hadn't detected his ailment.
Wang Ye's expression turned inscrutable. "Brother Cheng, there's no need for concern. I'm here to tell you that your ailment can be eradicated."
"Is that so?" Cheng Five was visibly shaken.
His innate talent was considerable, but due to some youthful mishaps, he was now relegated to serving as a protector for others.
"Indeed," Wang Ye replied, taking a sip of wine with a calm demeanor. "Unless I'm mistaken, it's your heart and lungs that have been compromised."
"That's correct. If you truly have a remedy, I could inform the young master that you've been dealt with by my hand. All you'd need to do is live under an assumed identity from now on."
"I will neither change my name nor my identity," Wang Ye declared, raising a finger. "There's no need for subterfuge. All I ask is that you keep your master in check for one month."
Wang Ye's power was growing swiftly. In a month's time, the situation would be transformed. Even if he couldn't best the Cheng Family, he wouldn't have to be overly concerned.
"One month," Cheng Five mused, his eyes flickering before he finally nodded. "Agreed."
"Then, Brother Cheng, I must ask you to make a vow," Wang Ye said, his smile widening.
Only with a sworn vow could he rest assured.
Cheng Five made his vow there and then, and Wang Ye reciprocated without hesitation.
Once the oaths were taken, Wang Ye had someone fetch a set of silver needles and had Cheng Wu lie down on a chair for an acupuncture session.
Naturally, this was merely for show. The true efficacy lay in his vital energy.
The potency of the Great Yin True Qi was more than tenfold that of ordinary vital energy.
As the first needle pierced his skin, Cheng Wu immediately felt a reaction, exclaiming with surprise, "A cool energy is coursing through my body. It's incredibly soothing."
Wang Ye was at a loss for words. The sounds Cheng Wu made were simply indescribable.
Needle two, needle three…
After a series of eighteen needles, Wang Ye ceased his work and stepped back. A short time later, Cheng Wu's body erupted with a powerful aura, his spirit vibrant and his energy immaculate.
"It's truly healed. Brother, you are nothing short of miraculous," Cheng Wu said, brimming with excitement, a stark contrast to his previously aloof and disdainful demeanor.
Wang Ye gently reminded him, "Brother Cheng, remember the task at hand."
Cheng Wu nodded, "Understood. I'll send word to the Young Master in a few days, explaining that we've encountered some issues and need more time."
The joy of recovery eclipsed everything else for him.
As for the possibility of the truth coming to light in a month, he figured he could simply go into hiding. The world was vast, and he was a solitary man. With his cultivation at the Celestial Bridge Realm, he wasn't worried about survival.
The crisis looming over the Cheng Family was, for the moment, averted.
After a bit more conversation, Cheng Wu departed. Wang Ye had no intention of asking him to stay, nor did he feel comfortable doing so.
The following day, Lang Yi's bloodline was fully awakened.
Wang Ye prepared a formation in his room to shield them from any external prying before addressing Lang Yi, "We're about to begin. It will be somewhat painful at first, but you'll adjust."
Lang Yi nodded, his eyes reflecting a mix of eagerness and a hint of anxiety.
Wang Ye instructed Lang Yi to sit cross-legged, then placed his hand on his forehead to connect with the Azure Spire. His current level of power allowed him only limited control.
The Azure Spire vibrated, sending a potent suction through Wang Ye's palm into Lang Yi.
"Humph!" Lang Yi grunted, his face contorted in agony, his body wracked with spasms.
Wang Ye withdrew a few drops of the Draught of Ascendancy with his left hand and administered it to Lang Yi, alleviating the pain. Lang Yi's blood reversed its flow as the unique energy within his veins was extracted, all of it absorbed by Wang Ye. Lang Yi's eyes rolled back from the excruciating pain of the blood extraction, teetering on the edge of unconsciousness. To ensure his well-being, Wang Ye proceeded with deliberate slowness.
After half an hour had passed, Wang Ye successfully transferred the bloodline of the Titanforged Physique.
Inside the Azure Spire, a dazzling orb of golden light hovered in the air.
This time was different; as Wang Ye's consciousness drew near, he could hear the resonating Great Dao Harmonious Sound, thunderous and awakening.
Within the orb, a shadowy figure seemed to wield a battle axe, performing the heroic act of cleaving the heavens!
Filled with intense anticipation, Wang Ye decided to integrate the orb into his own body.
Boom!
His body underwent an immediate transformation.
Thump! Thump! Thump!
Wang Ye's heartbeat resonated like thunder, vigorous and forceful.
Each pulse sent waves of surging blood coursing through his veins.
His physique was significantly enhanced, his organs as resilient as iron.
Hu! Hu!
With each breath, he expelled two dragon-shaped columns of white air from his nostrils, a sight to behold.
Even his blood, once a vibrant red, now shimmered with a golden hue.
In his mind, he discovered two powerful innate abilities.
