C8 Red Fire Wolf

The sun rose the next day, rousing the slumbering earth with its fiery red glow, draping the world in a cloak of gold.

Zhang Binn stepped out from his sect at the crack of dawn, making his way to the formidable Devil Beast Mountain Range.

Gazing upon the towering peaks, Zhang Binn was struck with a sense of awe.

Within the range roamed countless devil beasts, some as powerful as those in the Nether Connecting Stage. Rumors even spoke of creatures that surpassed this level of might!

Nether Connecting Stage masters could soar through the skies, move mountains, and command the seas with ease. The thought of a being more powerful was almost inconceivable—could such a force obliterate their sect with a mere gesture?

A longing stirred in Zhang Binn's heart, yet he knew the difficulty of attaining such power was immense.

Now was not the time for such dreams.

Shaking his head, Zhang Binn refocused, silently resolving, "I must concentrate on my training for now. The future can wait."

He held firm to the belief that one day he would reach—and perhaps even surpass—the Nether Connecting Stage, and he was confident that day was not far off.

For the moment, however, he had immediate matters to attend to.

With this thought, a slight smile graced Zhang Binn's face.

He had ventured to the Devil Beast Mountain Range alone, but it was divided into outer, inner, and core zones.

The outer layer was home to Rank One and Rank Two Devil Beasts, less formidable than those within the deeper layers.

He had approached the very fringes of the range, where only the peripheral creatures lurked.

This knowledge gave him the courage to face the wilderness solo; otherwise, he might have met an untimely end without ever knowing how.

Before long, Zhang Binn reached the outskirts of the Devil Beast Mountain Range.

His mission was twofold: to hunt Devil Beasts and to seek out Spiritual Grass and Medicinal Herbs that could enhance his cultivation within the vast expanse of the range.

Although Zhang Binn wasn't an alchemist and couldn't transform spiritual grass and medicinal herbs into medicine pills, he was still able to significantly enhance his cultivation to a certain extent.

Shortly after entering the Devil Beast Mountain Range, a searing presence surged toward him from nearby. Zhang Binn's face subtly shifted as he felt the intense heat.

Before him stood a Devil Beast radiating a blistering aura. The creature was roughly two meters in length and one and a half meters tall, its fur a fiery red that flickered like flames dancing across its body.

"Red Fire Wolf!" Zhang Binn instantly identified the beast.

The Red Fire Wolf, a fire-attribute demon beast, seemed capable of setting its environment ablaze with its intense heat. To Zhang Binn's astonishment, this particular Red Fire Wolf appeared to be gravely wounded.

Still, Zhang Binn knew better than to let his guard down. If there was any chance to flee, he would seize it without hesitation. The Red Fire Wolf's power had reached the late stages of a Rank One Devil Beast, with peak abilities that could rival experts at the eighth level of the Body Tempering Stage.

Zhang Binn himself had attained the sixth level of the Body Tempering Stage, his strength on par with peak warriors of the same level. Yet, he was well aware of the substantial gap between himself and a late-stage Body Tempering martial artist.

In theory, if he deployed the Profound Nether Nine Swords technique, he could hold his own against a seventh-level Body Tempering Stage warrior. However, facing an eighth-level opponent would be a stretch.

Devil Beasts of equivalent rank were known to far exceed human warriors in both strength and other attributes. This knowledge was precisely why Zhang Binn harbored thoughts of retreat.

But the Red Fire Wolf was now severely injured, and its blood essence held unique benefits for Body Tempering Stage warriors. Moreover, if luck was on his side, the Red Fire Wolf's den might contain the coveted Red Fire Fruit. Should Zhang Binn manage to secure this prize, his cultivation was sure to break through to the seventh level of the Body Tempering Stage in short order.

For this reason, when Zhang Binn encountered the grievously wounded Red Fire Wolf, he didn't immediately choose to flee.

With a deathly glare, the Red Fire Wolf's cold eyes locked onto Zhang Binn, glowing with an eerie dark green light.

It growled lowly, almost as if it were threatening to rip the human before it to shreds.

"Fortune favors the bold. No turning back now, I'll take my chances! And if all else fails, I can always resort to the Blue Butterfly Azure Cloud Step to make my escape," Zhang Binn mused to himself in a hushed tone.

With this resolve, Zhang Binn cast aside all hesitation. The Hidden Dragon Sword materialized in his grasp, its icy blade gleaming with a chilling radiance.

His gaze was icy as he stared down the Red Fire Wolf, a silent challenge hanging between them.

Provoked by Zhang Binn's stance, the Red Fire Wolf unleashed a furious roar.

"Awoo~"

The sound pierced the heavens, as if it could reverberate through the firmament.

In a sudden burst of movement, the Red Fire Wolf leaped forward, barreling towards Zhang Binn like a tornado.

The beast's presence was overwhelming, like a vibrant rainbow. Had Zhang Binn not sensed the disarray in the Red Fire Wolf's aura, he might not have believed it was truly injured.

But with the Red Fire Wolf's injury confirmed, Zhang Binn wouldn't miss the chance to strike while the iron was hot.

"Bring it on!" he bellowed, as his sword flickered with a fierce gleam. Bathed in sunlight, the blade's light was piercing, brimming with an intimidating force.

The Red Fire Wolf's growls intensified in response to Zhang Binn's taunt.

It lashed out with its claws, furiously roaring as if to tear Zhang Binn apart.

In a swift motion, it lunged, its claws aiming straight for Zhang Binn's chest!

The Red Fire Wolf's ferocity was wolf-like, its speed reaching the pinnacle of swiftness.

Its vicious claws seemed capable of etching sharp trails through the air.

Zhang Binn was taken aback by the sheer ferocity of the attack.

Despite its injuries, the Red Fire Wolf's strength was on par with warriors at the seventh level of the Body Tempering Stage!

Thankfully, Zhang Binn's reflexes were quick enough to respond.

As the Red Fire Wolf unleashed its ferocious claw attack, Zhang Binn instinctively retreated several steps. Had he not, the claw would have surely latched onto him, and the wolf before him would have ripped him to shreds without mercy.

"Nice try, your attack is quite impressive," Zhang Binn taunted, "but you're nothing more than a dying, desperate wolf at this point! It's time for you to meet your end!" With those words, Zhang Binn lifted his sword once more, his momentum surging like a torrential flood, and he launched a fierce assault upon the Red Fire Wolf.
