C9 Situ Yun's Face
At that moment, Jiang Xueer seemed to retain some awareness, as she continuously swatted away Situ Yun's vile hands. This only served to fuel Situ Yun's desire further. "Heh, I thought she'd be putty in my hands after being drugged. Didn't expect this! Haha, I like it."
Meanwhile, Ling Yifei was standing at the door, overhearing everything with crystal clarity. He muttered under his breath, "Absolutely despicable, resorting to such sleazy tactics!" He was torn about whether to intervene or not.
Recalling Jiang Xueer's previous demeanor towards him and her harsh words, Ling Yifei was tempted to walk away. As far as he was concerned, whatever happened to Jiang Xueer was none of his business.
But she was the daughter of his father's friend, and Aunt Liu had been kind to his father. He couldn't just stand by and do nothing. "Fine, I'll help her just this once," he decided, channeling his Vital Spirit into his fingertips.
With a "whoosh," he directed a burst of energy towards Situ Yun, striking an acupoint and knocking him out cold. Seizing the moment, Ling Yifei slipped into the room. The chaos within made him look on with a hint of scorn.
Upon seeing Jiang Xueer's dazed expression, Ling Yifei instinctively realized she must have been drugged by Situ Yun.
He knew he had to find a safe place for Jiang Xueer, especially since he couldn't present her to Aunt Liu in this state.
The pressing issue was how to counteract the drug's effects. If things continued as they were, Ling Yifei had no idea what might happen.
Feeling parched himself, Ling Yifei quickly found some clothes for Jiang Xueer. As he helped her dress, she clung to him desperately.
"I want it! Give it to me!" Jiang Xueer groaned.
"Damn! It's a good thing I have strong willpower. I swear, I'm more virtuous than Liu Xiahui," he said, lifting Jiang Xueer up.
He pressed her head under the faucet in the washroom and turned on the water forcefully. Right now, his priority was to bring her back to her senses. Jiang Xueer's hands clawed at Ling Yifei as he held her head under the running water, shaking it slightly to help her regain consciousness.
Feeling triumphant, Ling Yifei reveled in his victory. He had turned the tables on Jiaang Xueer, who had underestimated him. With a mischievous grin, he watched as she flailed helplessly, caught in the relentless stream of water.
After about a minute, Ling Yifei released Jiaang Xueer and guided her to the bed. But her restlessness lasted less than thirty seconds before she began to stir once more.
"Damn! Is this drug really that potent? Has Situ Yun lost his mind, using something this strong without fearing it could kill someone?" Ling Yifei cursed as he intervened to prevent Jiaang Xueer's erratic movements. Left with no other option, he channeled his Vital Spirit to purge the drug from her system.
With one hand firmly on Jiaang Xueer, Ling Yifei placed his other hand on her wrist, allowing streams of Vital Spirit to flow into her body. Gradually, as the Vital Spirit worked its magic, Jiaang Xueer's agitation subsided.
"Whew! That was exhausting. I've used up my Vital Spirit to save you, and I can't even let you know it was me. What a loss," he muttered. He then propped Jiaang Xueer up, planning to find another hotel where they could regroup. He'd wait for her to awaken before discussing their next move.
As he walked past the unconscious Situ Yun, Ling Yifei couldn't resist delivering a sharp kick to his stomach, muttering, "That's for crossing me, you fool!" With that, he confidently escorted Jiaang Xueer away.
At the hotel reception, amidst the clerk's suggestive looks, Ling Yifei hailed a cab and headed to a different hotel. He deposited Jiaang Xueer onto the bed and breathed a sigh of relief, thinking to himself, "Mission accomplished." Now, his priority was to locate his father, fearing that he might be in danger.
He called his father's phone. "Hey, Dad, where are you? I'm coming to find you." "I'm at Aunt Liu's place. Is Xueer with you?" Ling Yifei glanced at Jiaang Xueer's prone form. "No, she's out with friends. I left early; the crowd was too much for me," he lied, feeling a pang of regret.
Great! Head over to the Imperial Garden in the Imperial Capital. Ling Yifei hailed a taxi to the Imperial Garden, a place whose name exuded luxury and grandeur. Upon arrival and catching sight of the opulent villas, even Ling Yifei, who was well-traveled in the Cultivation Realm, was taken aback.
"It's true what they say: comparisons can be disheartening," he muttered as he made his way inside. "Hold on!" In the midst of his contemplation, a jarring voice interrupted him. A security guard, clad in uniform and wearing a look of scorn, jogged over to him.
Do the security guards in upscale communities really consider themselves a cut above the rest? Ling Yifei couldn't help but chuckle at the thought. The guard, sizing him up in his plain attire, assumed Ling Yifei didn't belong and demanded haughtily, "Please show me your pass."
Bewildered, Ling Yifei wondered how he could possibly have a pass. "I'm here to see someone," he explained. The guard pressed, "Who are you looking for?" Ling Yifei paused, thinking, Who am I looking for? All I know is that my father's friend has the surname Jiang. How embarrassing.
The guard grew more suspicious, scrutinizing the young man before him with an air of contempt. With no other option, Ling Yifei pulled out his phone and said, "Here, take this call." He handed the phone to the guard, who listened to the voice on the other end—presumably Mrs. Zhao's instructions—and quickly changed his demeanor, returning the phone with a bow and scrape.
"My apologies, I'm just doing my job. Please understand," the guard said, his face now obsequious. Ling Yifei wasn't bothered; as a prominent figure in the Cultivation Realm, he had seen it all and was used to such situations.
Following the building numbers, he arrived at Jiaang Xueer's home. "Little Shuo, you've arrived!" Zhao Yuqin greeted Ling Yifei warmly. "Thank you, Mrs. Zhao," he replied courteously. Zhang Zhicheng watched with a cheerful grin. "By the way, Little Shuo, didn't Xueer return with you?" It was clear that Zhao Yuqin was quite concerned about Jiaang Xueer.
"Auntie, there's no need for concern. Xueer went out with a friend, and since I didn't know anyone else, I decided to come back early," Ling Yifei explained with a hint of resignation. "This kid, getting so caught up in the fun that she even forgets her own brother. I've definitely spoiled her too much!"
Meanwhile, Ling Yifei couldn't help but smirk, thinking that Jiaang Xueer and Situ Yun would probably be waking up any minute now. The thought of Situ Yun's disheveled state brought a sly, cold smile to Ling Yifei's lips.
