C12 What Are You Doing?

Lei Ming seized the blood-streaked face of Xiao Long, his warning laced with contempt, "You lack even a shred of common sense, daring to cross me, Tang Ye?"

"I was wrong, Tang Ye! I was wrong, Tang Ye!"

After his head thudded against the ground a few times, a fresh gash marred Xiao Long's forehead. Tang Ye remained silent, merely observing the scene as Lei Ming towered over him.

"This is your car, isn't it?" Lei Ming approached the blue Lamborghini, baseball bat in hand.

With a pained expression, Xiao Long nodded, "Yes, it's my car. If Tang likes it, he can have it."

With a resounding "Bang!" Lei Ming slammed the bat down on the hood, muttering curses, "Tang Ye driving your car is an honor for you. You have the nerve to offer him this piece of junk you've been driving?"

"No..."

"What was that?" Lei Ming yanked Xiao Long to the side of the car and delivered another heavy blow to the roof. The once sleek Lamborghini now sported two gaping dents, its luster fading as it whined under Lei Ming's relentless assault.

"I'm talking to you!" Lei Ming barked, gripping Xiao Long's head, "Does it sicken you to offer such a wreck to Tang Ye?"

"Yes! Yes!" Blood and spit flew from Xiao Long's mouth, one eye swollen shut as he pleaded through the other, "Mr. Lei, I was wrong. Please accept my apologies."

"Hey, cut it out. You've already bowed to Tang Ye. Bowing to me again, where does that leave him?" Lei Ming chided.

In desperation, Xiao Long turned to Tang Ye, pleading, "I truly realize my mistake, Tang Ye. I beg for your forgiveness."

"That's enough. Just watch how you speak to people from now on," Tang Ye dismissed him nonchalantly. "There's no need to be so hostile. Can't we talk things out nicely?"

After a few more swings, Lei Ming reduced the Lamborghini to rubble, then casually tossed the bat aside and addressed Xiao Long, "Did you catch that? Make sure you remember what Tang Ye said. Now scram."

Xiao Long's lackeys hurriedly propped up his hefty frame, eager to leave without a moment's delay.

Lei Ming wiped the blood from his hands and approached Tang Ye with a smile, saying, "Tang Ye, I've made arrangements for the elder to be transferred to a top-tier hospital. The current medical facilities just won't do; he deserves the best care possible."

Tang Ye nodded in acknowledgment and replied, "I appreciate that."

Lei Ming's face lit up with happiness. "What are you saying, Tang Ye? Your elder is my elder too. I only wish we had met sooner; had I known you earlier, we could have avoided today's troubles."

"Take me to him," Tang Ye requested calmly.

Lei Ming gestured towards the Bentley parked nearby and asked cautiously, "What about this car, Tang Ye?"

"It's a nice car. I think I'll drive it for a few days to see how it feels."

"Right away, I'll have my guys take care of all the paperwork." With a grand gesture, Lei Ming directed the convoy to leave the old district with a show of force, heading towards the city center.

"Manyun Hospital is the finest private hospital in Zluftin, boasting world-class medical equipment," Lei Ming explained with care. "I've secured the hospital's leading expert in neurology to oversee the elder's treatment. I'm confident he'll make a swift recovery."

The former hospital director was lying in bed, closely monitored by two attentive nurses, while the doctor briefed Lei Ming on the patient's condition.

"After a thorough examination, it's clear that the patient's condition has worsened over the past few years due to inadequate treatment," the elderly doctor explained with a measured tone.

Lei Ming, anxious for answers, preempted Tang Ye's inquiries, "And now? Is the condition under control? Is there a cure?"

The doctor responded, "We've managed to stabilize his condition, but considering his advanced age and the prolonged neglect, an urgent surgery is advisable."

"Then let's not waste any time. Arrange the surgery immediately. I don't care what it takes; if you can heal my grandfather, I'll donate an additional ten million to your hospital."

The doctor expressed his gratitude solemnly, "We are deeply thankful for your ongoing support, Mr. Lei. The surgery is scheduled soon, and we've located a suitable liver. However, given the patient's age and the severity of his condition, the risk of complications remains significant."

Lei Ming spoke with urgency, "Give it everything you've got. I'm aware that the surgery can be successful, but I need you to bring in the most dependable person. We have to minimize any potential complications."

The doctor let out a sigh and responded, "The issue isn't with our hospital's medical equipment, but with the elderly patient himself."

"Are you concerned that he might not withstand the surgery?" Tang Ye inquired.

The doctor nodded gravely, "The patient's current condition is quite serious. Even if everything goes according to plan, there's still a significant risk that he may not make it through the entire procedure."

Lei Ming glanced at Tang Ye cautiously, while Tang Ye met the doctor's gaze with composure and said, "Do your utmost. We'll be grateful for your efforts, no matter the outcome."

Relieved by Tang Ye's response, the doctor's voice grew louder, "The surgery is scheduled for two days from now. In the meantime, we'll administer some intensive treatments to strengthen the patient. Rest assured, we'll employ the best possible approach, but I urge you to prepare yourselves emotionally."

Once Tang Ye gave his nod of approval, the doctor hurried off, leaving Tang Ye and Lei Ming in the hallway, peering through the glass at the old director resting inside.

"Don't worry, Tang," Lei Ming reassured him. "The doctor is a leading authority in this field. The old man is sure to recover."

Lei Ming chatted with the old director inside the ward while keeping watch at the entrance. By the time Lei Ming awoke, the hospital lights were already ablaze.

"I need to step out for a moment," Tang Ye told Lei Ming.

Lei Ming, still groggy, mumbled, "Let me walk you out, Tang."

"No need, I can manage on my own. You take care of your things," Tang Ye insisted.

"Here, take the car keys," Lei Ming offered, then asked, "Tang, what are your plans for dealing with Wang Hao?"

"Wang Hao," Tang Ye echoed thoughtfully. "For now, just find a place to detain him."

"Got it."

The events from three years earlier had landed Tang Ye behind bars and plunged Tutu and her brother into the depths of despair.

Watching a lively and adorable girl on the street corner, Tang Ye was reminded of Tutu in happier times, always brimming with joy.

Outside the Nightclub, a Bentley came to a smooth halt. A dashing man, standing six feet tall and clad in a tailored suit, stepped out of the vehicle.

He made his way into the bar and from a distance, he could see a group of sleazy middle-aged men, each one coaxing a young woman to drink more than she wanted.

In a corner, a visibly young and innocent girl was being badgered by a portly man.

"What are you doing?"

"Come on, have another drink, little sister."
