C19 Eviction
Two hours later, Su Lianyi was still waiting at the entrance of the Qingyuan Group building. She never left her post.
Su Xiaoyu jogged over to her and said, “Sister, there’s no need for you to hang around anymore. President Zhao has told me everything.”
Su Lianyi grabbed her sister’s arm, her tone urgent. “What did he say?”
“According to President Zhao, the Su family has offended the big boss. Even the president himself would not dare to disobey the boss’ orders.”
Su Lianyi crouched on the ground with a heavy sigh. “Will the Tianzheng Group be ruined, just like that?” she muttered under her breath.
Su Xiaoyu was just about to comfort her when her phone rang.
Their mother’s anxious voice came through the line. “Are you with your sister right now? Hurry and come home! Su Zheng is here with his men. They’re trying to throw us out!”
Sure enough, Su Zheng was in the family courtyard, commanding the guards to haul the various fixtures out into the streets.
Su Yecheng stood his ground at the door of the house, doing his best to fend off a couple of security guards who were trying to get inside.
“What do you think you’re doing?” Suen Xiulian screeched from inside the house.
Su Zheng turned to her and sneered.
“Grandpa said that if Su Lianyi fails to secure the contract with the Qingyuan Group within three days, all of you will be disowned by the Su family. And guess what? The time limit has just passed. Su Lianyi has no contract to show. We are to chase you out of the Su family’s property.”
“This is my home!” Suen Xiulian screamed. “I will not allow you to run wild and do whatever you want!”
“I’m afraid it’s not up to you.” Su Zheng waved his hand, and all the guards rushed forward and apprehended Su Yecheng.
Meanwhile, upon hearing the news, the sisters jumped into the car and sped back home.
Soon enough, Su Xiaoyu and Su Lianyi were striding into the courtyard.
Even as they got out of the car, Su Lianyi could see that a mob had surrounded their house, and their furniture and other belongings were scattered all over the backyard.
The two women squeezed through the ground until they reached the front, where they found their parents surrounded by eight, burly guards.
“Did I commit any crimes, huh?” Suen Xiulian wailed, beating the ground with her fist. “Why am I being punished like this?”
“Are you still human?” Su Lianyi demanded, so outraged by the treatment of her parents that she was shaking.
Su Zheng had actually noticed them as soon as they arrived, but he had to take a moment to figure out why they had come in a brand-new Maserati.
Now that Su Lianyi was addressing him, he turned to her and scoffed. “You kept claiming that you wanted nothing to do with Zhao Chen, but here you are, driving down in a Maserati. I always knew your innocent facade was just an act. Behind the scenes, you’re just another opportunistic whore.”
“Stop spouting nonsense!” Su Xiaoyu interjected. “The car was given to me by the Chu family as part of a dowry. It has nothing to do with my sister.”
Su Zheng paused when he heard mention of the Chu family.
She wasn’t wrong. In the entire Yun State, the only person who could afford a Maserati was Chu Tianxiong. Who would have thought that Su Xiaoyu was actually acquainted with the wealthy Chu family?
But since things had come to this point, Su Zheng couldn’t possibly back out now.
“Why would the Chu family even spare your trash family a glance? Not that it matters. Su Lianyi! Don’t tell me you’ve forgotten what Grandpa said three days ago. You failed to acquire the contract, which means that you are no longer a member of the Su family. Naturally, I would have to confiscate this house. It belongs to the Su family, after all.”
“That’s right! As an outsider, you don’t have the right to stay here anymore! Or are you planning to live like a parasite?”
“If you know what’s best for you, you’d better pack your things and get lost! There is no place in the Su family for scum like you.”
This, of course, came from Su Zheng’s entourage, distant relatives in the Su family who held no sympathy for Su Lianyi. If anything, they seemed to rejoice in her misfortune.
Blood relations meant very little within the Su family, especially when there were absolute benefits at stake.
Su Lianyi’s heart ached as her fingers dug into her palms.
“How can you be so ruthless, Su Zheng? Even if I am to be disowned, you still have to wait for Grandpa to enact the Family Order. Why are you so impatient to chase us out?”
“To gloat, what else? I want to make you see that I am now the master of the Su family, while you’re nothing more than a bug that I can toy with or throw away.”
“You bastard!” Su Xiaoyu cried out. “I’ll kill you!”
She couldn’t bear to hear her sister being maligned like this. Her emotions took over, and she lunged at Su Zheng.
Before she could reach him, however, two of the security guards caught her by the arms and carried her away.
“I swear, every member of this pathetic family is worthless,” Su Zheng mocked. “Did you really think you could take me on?”
Seeing her sister detained, Su Lianyi tried to rush forward as well.
But much like Su Xiaoyu, she was caught without difficulty.
“You should just give up, Su Lianyi. I know that you’ve worked hard these last five years to get the Tianzheng Group back. Sadly, your efforts turned out to be pointless. I still got the company in the end.”
Su Zheng approached her and leaned close to her ear.
“There’s something I forgot to tell you. That night that you ‘accidentally’ spent with your piece of trash husband five years ago? I planned it all. Because I wanted to take your company. I’ve wanted it from the start.”
Su Lianyi was overcome with dread. She never imagined that the so-called scandal she was ostracized for had been orchestrated by her own relative.
Su Zheng took delight in the lifeless look in her eye. He laughed at her face.
“Are you shocked? Well, after all you’ve been through, that husband of yours is nowhere to be seen, is he?
It looks like we were right about him all along. He couldn’t even protect his wife. I honestly don’t understand why you refuse to divorce him. If you had married into the Wang family, I might be treating you with respect right now.”
Without warning, Su Lianyi broke free from the guards and threw herself onto Su Zheng. She grabbed his arm and sank her teeth into his flesh.
The smug grin on Su Zheng’s face disappeared as he screamed in pain.
“Let go!” He waved his arm from side to side, hoping that the momentum would cause Su Lianyi to release him.
But she only doubled down.
Her eyes were filled with tears of rage, and she only wanted to hurt him.
“You crazy bitch, let go!” Realizing that it would take more force for Su Lianyi to let go, Su Zheng pulled back his fist and swung at her head.
“Sister!” Su Xiaoyu cried out, still trying to break free from her captors to go and help her sister. But the men held fast.
Just as Su Zheng’s fist was about to land, there was a blur of movement from the side.
In the next second, someone grabbed Su Zheng’s wrist.
When the crowd looked up at the person who had stopped him, they let out a collective gasp of shock.
