"Boss Chu, Boss Chu, what brings you here? How could you two buffoons not let me know? I would have welcomed Boss Chu personally. Don't you realize that Boss Chu is my ultimate idol?"

"I'm not interested in your body! Just answer my questions," Chu Yue said, casting a glance at Ho Lan, who looked fearful of being assaulted, his voice cold as ice.

"Excuse me! What do you mean you're not interested in my body?" Ho Lan shot back at Chu Yue, visibly annoyed. Despite feeling insulted by his dismissive attitude toward her figure, which she took great pride in, she conceded that avoiding violation was, of course, a positive outcome.

Since he was eager to inquire, she decided to let him. It wasn't as if she had anything to lose.

"Alright, what do you want to know? If I have the answer, I'll tell you," she offered.

"You and Chu Yao are classmates, right? And you share the same dormitory?" Chu Yue's interest piqued, sensing he was on the verge of receiving news about his sister, which excited him.

"Yes," Ho Lan confirmed with a nod, offering no denial.

Chu Yue inhaled deeply, his gaze on Ho Lan heavy with emotion. "Tell me, on the day the apocalypse struck, were you with Chu Yao? Is she still alive?"

"Are you one of Yao's admirers?" Ho Lan sized up Chu Yue with a hint of gossip in her smile. "Yao has always been by my side, and we've both been fortunate enough to survive!" Chu Yao was among the most admired beauties at Yanjing Normal University, and Chu Yue's concern seemed to indicate he was either an admirer or someone with a special interest in her.

"Where is she?" Chu Yue pressed, his voice tinged with excitement.

Yao was still alive! She had survived!

Overwhelmed with emotion, Chu Yue quickly approached the bed and grasped Ho Lan's arm, his urgency making him lose control.

"Ouch, you're hurting me!" Ho Lan exclaimed, wincing from the pain in her arm caused by Chu Yue's tight grip.

In that moment, Chu Yue had no room for tenderness; his sole focus was to learn the whereabouts of his sister, Chu Yao.

Chu Yue spoke with a chill in his voice, "Tell me, where is Chu Yao?"

"She's at Yanjing Normal University!" Ho Lan's arms were red from being grabbed, and she was on the verge of tears as she spoke.

Chu Yue's grip remained firm as he asked again, "When did you last see her?"

"Three days ago. My boyfriend and I were out scavenging for food when we got surrounded by zombies. My boyfriend got infected and turned into a zombie, and I was rescued from them!"

Ho Lan replied promptly, not daring to hesitate.

"Three days ago?" Chu Yue's grip on Ho Lan's arm tightened upon hearing this, and he seemed momentarily lost in thought.

Three days ago!

It had been so long; could his sister still be okay?

With that concern in mind, Chu Yue turned and headed for the door.

"Hey, where are you going?" Ho Lan exclaimed, taken aback by Chu Yue's abrupt departure. She quickly asked.

Without looking back or breaking stride, Chu Yue replied, "To Yanjing Normal University!"

"That place is completely overrun by a zombie horde; it's extremely dangerous!" Ho Lan didn't know the nature of Chu Yue's relationship with Chu Yao, but she was curious about the cause of his emotional upheaval.

Chu Yue glanced back at Ho Lan with resolute eyes and declared, "No matter the danger, I must go."

"I'll come with you. I can't stand being here another moment! Besides, you'll need someone to show you the way to Yanjing Normal University—it's a huge place!" Ho Lan bit her lip, her expression somber for a moment before she spoke.

"Just don't slow me down!"
