C4 Chapter 4

Christopher Briggs didn't rush to collect the zombie corpses as soon as he entered the room. Instead, he cautiously searched every corner of the room to make sure there were no other zombies lurking around. Once he confirmed the area was safe, he proceeded to collect the corpses of the two zombies. The system notification alerted him of his successful collection, and he stored the obtained items - a zombie corpse, Energy Crystal, clean cloth, and mutated fertilizer - in his storage space.

Moving on to his search for supplies, Briggs entered the kitchen, aware that food and water were his top priority. The house was a three-room model with one living room, one bathroom, and one kitchen, plus two bedrooms and a study room.

Briggs searched every inch of the kitchen, opening all the cabinet doors to find only a few unopened bottles of seasonings.

All other food reserves, including rice, flour, and other perishables, had already expired and turned moldy.

Briggs stumbled upon mushrooms with strange red spots growing on them, and the system warned him not to consume them.

He then checked the fridge and found that everything in the freezer was broken except for two cans of beer with an expiration date of 20 years from the manufacturing - October 15, 2012. Briggs was surprised at the long shelf life of the beer compared to the ones on Earth, which usually lasted only about two years or less.

Seeing the fixed date of the calendar on the wall, he deduced that the virus broke out in December 2012 in this world, and the dust on the dining table indicated that not more than a year had passed since the civilization of Blue Planet was destroyed by the virus.

Christopher reminded himself of the system notification at the beginning of the game that the current strength of the zombies he encountered were only a result of the system's suppression, and the suppression effect would gradually weaken every 30 days until the zombies returned to their originally terrifying appearance.

With that in mind, he opened the freezer in the lower part of the refrigerator and found a large piece of frozen meat weighing at least five or six kilograms.

With that, he had found enough food and drink to sustain him for the next three or four days. Time was of the essence, and Briggs knew he had to survive and become stronger quickly.

Christopher Briggs rifled through the items in the room until he stumbled upon a large box of ice cream containing 20 tubs. While it was not substantial enough to serve as a meal, the high sugar content made it a valuable source of energy in dire circumstances, so he stored it in his storage space.

He also collected various kitchen knives, fruit knives, and other blades, as well as 120 pieces of clean cloth from the closet in the bedroom.

Before leaving the room, Christopher left the door open and ascended the stairs to the fifth floor. Along the way, he encountered a few zombies, but they posed no threat to him.

He collected [Canned meat], [Pure Water] * 2, [Canned Beer] * 2, [Mutated fertilizer] * 50, [Clean Cloth] * 125, [Explosion Shield], [Steel Helmet], [Fire Axe], [Kitchen Knife] * 2, [Fruit Knife] * 1.

Christopher cautiously entered the room, carefully searching every nook and cranny for any signs of danger. After confirming that the room was secure, he took a brief rest to recover from the mental exhaustion caused by his recent battles.

Once he had regained his strength, Christopher examined the room more closely, taking note of the family photos and the empty crib.

The entire room was meticulously cleaned, and even had a faint fragrance in the air.

Deciding to use the room as shelter for the time being, Christopher stored an unopened bottle of soy sauce in the kitchen.

Christopher Briggs placed the frozen ice cream and food in the freezer of the refrigerator to save space in his storage. The items in his storage space included canned meat, pure water, canned beer, mutated fertilizer, clean cloth, explosion shield, steel helmet, fire ax, kitchen knife, and fruit knife. These items already took up ten spaces, and adding the frozen meat and ice cream would fill up his storage space.

Christopher realized that he needed more space in his storage to collect the vital items in the apocalypse.

He opened the chat channel only to see a message from a girl asking if anyone was near the Sea Hospital while others shared their recent findings and experiences.

There was a formal request from a group of survivors, calling out to other survivors to join them.

However, Christopher was skeptical about joining a survival group, as he believed that those without the ability to survive would weigh him down and leech off him.

Moreover, the idea of exposing one's position to strangers was risky, as it could attract hostile survivors or people with ulterior motives.
