C1 Su Xue's Greatest Humiliation!

"Director Su has it all: beauty, brains, and business acumen. What on earth possessed her to marry that useless security guard?"

"Who knows? But seeing Director Su with that loser is like watching a beautiful flower stuck in cow dung!"

"Hey, do you think it's possible that Director Su is a lesbian? Maybe she's using that no-good security guard as a beard to avoid gossip about her sexual orientation."

"That actually sounds plausible. I heard Director Su has been married to that loser for three years, and they're even sleeping in separate beds now..."

Su Xue sat in her secretary's private car, her face turning a steely shade of grey as she overheard the company employees' gossip through the window.

At 28, Su Xue had always lived with pride. Her pride stemmed not only from her striking looks and figure but also from her scholarly past and her present status as a formidable businesswoman. However, there was one aspect of her life that she could never take pride in, something that could be considered the greatest humiliation of her life—

That was the marriage arranged by her grandmother before her passing, binding her to a man who was utterly worthless beyond his appearance!

Three years had passed, and she had hoped time would diminish everyone's curiosity about this embarrassing union. But now she realized that was not the case. Instead of diminishing, the curiosity had intensified, and rumors were even circulating that she was a lesbian!

Fuming with anger, Su Xue knew that as the company director, she couldn't stoop to confront her employees—it would be beneath her. So, she had no choice but to confront that waste of space.

Inside the security room, Chen Qingchuan was sprawled in a recliner, his feet propped up on the table, his worn-out slippers dangling carelessly—emblematic of his lackadaisical attitude.

This sight only fueled Su Xue's rage, prompting her to hurl her handbag at Chen Qingchuan.

"Chen Qingchuan, are you even a man? Can't you just agree to a divorce already?"

Unfazed by the handbag assault, Chen Qingchuan looked up at Su Xue with a grin. "Wow, what's got you so fired up?"

"You've become the biggest disgrace of my life, and you still have the audacity to ask what's wrong?"

Su Xue couldn't contain her fury when she saw Chen Qingchuan's smirking demeanor.

"Do you have any idea of the immense pressure I've been under since marrying you? How many people have been gossiping about me behind my back? I, Su Xue, have always been someone others admire, but you've turned me into a laughingstock!"

"And you? You just lounge around in the security room all day, as if you're waiting to die. I'm starting to think that when Nuwa was creating humans, she must have forgotten to give you a sense of shame, making you a natural-born scoundrel!"

Chen Qingchuan didn't retaliate; he just listened silently as Su Xue continued her tirade.

"A beauty of twenty-eight, so stunning she could shatter souls. Yet she's bound in marriage to a man as worthless as cow dung—Chen by name!"

"Hear that? Listen to yourself. That's the kind of gossip people spread about you. Doesn't it make you blush? Don't you feel any shame?"

"So please, do me a favor and sign your esteemed name on the divorce papers. Consider it a charitable act, a way to accumulate virtue. Give me a chance to live and stop dragging my life down into your fetid, stagnant waters, will you?"

After releasing her anger, Su Xue was met with Chen Qingchuan's gaze, which was a mix of annoyance and pleading.

"This poem is quite good, actually. It's rhythmic and evocative. Who's the talented poet? I'd like to exchange a few verses with them..."

"Chen Qingchuan!!!"

Su Xue exploded. She couldn't help but explode. There she was, discussing divorce, and all Chen Qingchuan could think about was poetry and making new friends. His shamelessness was unparalleled, leaving her feeling as frustrated as a dog trying to bite a porcupine—utterly helpless.

In the end, Su Xue stormed off. Watching her indignant figure recede into the distance, Chen Qingchuan shed his flippant, rogue-like facade.

Su Xue wanted a divorce, but wasn't he also keen on the idea? As the heir to the Daming Group, why should he settle for a loveless match?

Unfortunately, there was no way around it. Three years ago, the patriarch had exploited his influence to abruptly sever Chen Qingchuan's ties with the Chen family, coercing him into marriage with Su Xue. The underlying reason was a past romance between the patriarch and Su Xue's grandmother that had never come to fruition. Thus, the two seniors decided to use Chen Qingchuan and Su Xue to fulfill their own lost opportunity, forcibly uniting them.

Over the years, Chen Qingchuan had repeatedly challenged the patriarch's decision. Eventually, the patriarch relented somewhat, setting a three-year deadline. If, after three years, the two were still incompatible, they would be free to go their separate ways, and Chen Qingchuan's frozen assets and resources would be released.

Thankfully, after a grueling two-plus years, the end was finally in sight: it was just past midnight, marking the full three-year term!

Reflecting on how he had significantly upset Su Xue earlier, Chen Qingchuan thought it best to sign the divorce papers first and deal with the formalities tomorrow. After three years together, they hadn't become a true married couple, but there was no need to part as enemies. He decided to grant her the freedom of divorce a bit early.

Resolved, Chen Qingchuan slipped on his sandals and rode the elevator to Director Su's office.

To avoid the possibility of being turned away at the door, Chen Qingchuan pushed it open and entered without knocking.

Inside the office, he discovered that Director Su was absent. Instead, a neatly dressed young man stood at the desk, holding a packet of pink powder. He was pouring it into Director Su's water glass and stirring it in. The powder dissolved upon contact with the water, leaving no trace of discoloration.

Chen Qingchuan recognized the young man as Liu Zhen, the son of the chairman of the Shengliu Group, a wealthy heir who had long harbored feelings for Su Xue.

"What's the matter? After all your efforts to undermine me failed, you've resorted to drugging my wife?" Chen Qingchuan's abrupt confrontation startled Liu Zhen, who clenched the packet in his palm and defensively retorted, "That's nonsense!"

"You'll know whether it's nonsense once you drink this water."

Chen Qingchuan approached Liu Zhen with a cold smirk, seizing the cup and attempting to force the water down Liu Zhen's throat.

Liu Zhen naturally refused to drink, but he was no match for Chen Qingchuan, who was pinching his neck. Gasping for air, he involuntarily opened his mouth, and Chen Qingchuan took the chance to press the cup to his lips, the water laced with powder nearly pouring in.

Just then, Su Xue arrived.

Upon seeing Chen Qingchuan trying to force Liu Zhen to drink, she dashed forward and knocked the cup from his grasp, exclaiming, "Chen Qingchuan, what are you doing?"

With the cup gone, there was no longer a need for Chen Qingchuan to keep his grip on Liu Zhen's neck.

He let go and turned to Su Xue, "You've seen what I'm doing, so perhaps you should be asking him what his intentions are."

Su Xue's gaze shifted to Liu Zhen, who, while massaging his sore neck, furiously accused Chen Qingchuan.

"Xiaoxue only married you because of her grandmother's insistence, but she's never truly cared for you. You lust after her beauty, so you resorted to drugging her water, hoping to bewitch her to satisfy your vile desires. Thankfully, I discovered it just in time..."

Liu Zhen reversed the blame, pinning the drug incident on Chen Qingchuan and even producing a packet of medicine as evidence, claiming he had snatched it from Chen Qingchuan's possession. In his narrative, he painted himself as a valiant hero, willing to face persecution to protect Su Xue's honor!

Chen Qingchuan, however, dismissed these claims with contempt, not even bothering to counter them.

After all, he and Su Xue were husband and wife in name, sharing a home if not a bed. If he had wanted to drug Su Xue, would he have needed to do it in the office? He was confident that Su Xue's intelligence would allow her to see through the lies!

Sure enough, Su Xue erupted in indignant fury, "You're despicable!!!"

A sharp slap resounded as it struck Chen Qingchuan's cheek.

Chen Qingchuan was left dazed by the slap.
