After Rasul entered the Level-9 beasts' territory, he turned around and saw Hubery and the others chasing after Curtis Three. Knowing he was safe, he released a sigh of relief.
In fact, this was a huge gamble on Rasul's part. He betted that not only would the arrogant Hubery look down on him, but also that he wouldn't encounter any Level-9 beast on the way.
As far as the first part was concerned, he won the bet.
Hubery and the others indeed did not chase after Rasul. For the second part, it all depended on Rasul's luck.
Maybe it was heavens taking pity, or perhaps he did indeed have killer luck, but he didn't encounter any life-threatening situation. As for not encountering any beast... He actually did encounter a Sky Stepping Elephant.
Fortunately, this beast had a mild temperament, so it didn't attack its opponent easily. Considering that Rasul was as weak as they come, the elephant felt no threat from him. Therefore, the Stepping Sky Elephant turned around and left after giving him a glance.
However, just that single glance from the Stepping Sky Elephant left Rasul heaving for breath, feeling as if he was just pardoned by the death god.
Just the elephant's very exitance before his eyes scared the wits out of him.
Then, the elephant's aura left him praying to the gods for another living day.
With Malen and Curtis Three leading the way, Rasul didn't realize just how massive a journey it was. Now that he was walking on his own two feet, he understood that the Endless Forest was indeed very much endless.
It took Rasul almost half the night to arrive at the Mr. Levineg Tree cave.
The second Curtis Three suggested running away, Rasul formed his escape plan—run to the cave.
Why did he choose the cave? For starters, it was a well-hidden retreat. Without knowing the exact route, finding this place was near impossible.
Secondly, the wolf's and the Gibson family experts' corpse was still within the cave. The aura of the dead Level-9 beast and mighty Body Refiners could protect him from other strange beasts for the time being.
The cave entrance wasn't big, so Rasul decided to disguise it with weeds, leaves, and shoots.
It had been half a day since the Knowles family group left the cave, but there was no change in it. Had another beast entered the cave, the stench of blood would've been much stronger.
Not too strong, but there was still quite the bloody stench inside. However, Rasul didn't care about it—the smell of his rented house was even worse than this. If Rasul could bear it, blood was nothing.
Then, Rasul found a relatively clean place in the cave, a spot that had not been destroyed by the battle.
There, he sat cross-legged and placed his harvest in front of him.
500 gold coins, 17 high-quality inferior stones, a Level-10 lo spirit stone that was nearly two-thirds of its original value, 12 Mr. Levineg Fruit leaves, dozens of fragrant fruits, and a few herbs he harvested before entering the cave.
'Killing and robbing is indeed the shortcut to getting rich.' Just that used up Level-10 stone was enough to duplicate enough Meridian Herbs to heal his meridians completely.
However, Rasul did not use the Level-10 stone or the 17 inferior stones. Instead, he stood up and walked to the Red-eyed Blood Wolf's corpse.
The Knowles family members didn't take away the Red-eyed Blood Wolf's corpse.
It wasn't because they didn't want the corpse, thinking it was of no use to them. After all, everything on and from a Level-9 beast's body was a treasure. Even their fur could be used to make sturdy leather armor.
However, the group's objective this time wasn't to hunt strange beasts. So, none of them had brought any equipment or storage to take the beast away.
Because of this, Rasul benefited the most. After all, where else could he find a strong beast's carcass just laying around?
Rasul stretched out his left hand and placed it on one of the wolf's wounds. After that, Rasul started the duplication process.
Following the activation of "copy-paste," the once robust wolf could be seen drying up. In front of Rasul, numerous Meridian Herbs appeared like bamboo shoots after rain.
Once Rasul counted 600 of them, he voluntarily stopped the replication process.
According to Rasul's previous calculations, he needed about 500 Meridian Herb to repair his damaged meridians. Before entering the Endless Forest, he had already consumed nearly 180 Meridian Herb. Thanks to that, a part of his entire meridian network was healed. Now, he only needed 400 more Meridian Herbs.
This time, he replicated 200 extra as a sort of "what if" measure. What if the 400 herbs weren't enough to heal his meridians completely?
Secondly, after healing his meridians, he wanted to start cultivating. In that case, the extra Meridina Herbs could strengthen his Meridian and increase his strength.
If these 600 stalks were converted into inferior stones, he would get about 100 inferior stones. Even after replicating 600 herbs, he was still left with 90% of the wolf corpse.
Now that Rasul had duplicated enough Meridian Herb, he decided it was time to repair his meridians. He had to become a Daniel Refiner as soon as possible.
But when he looked at the still 90% filled money pot, the wolf corpses, he felt reluctance: he didn't want to just leave it here. If he wasted something like this, he would feel bitter for the rest of his life.
Rasul thought of the Mr. Levineg Fruit's leaf and immediately picked a leaf from his pile. He held the leaf in one hand and placed the other hand on the carcass.
Initially, Rasul thought that since the leaf only contained a trace of Mr. Levineg Fruit's energy, he could replicate thousands of leaves with the remaining carcass. However, when Rasul started duplicating it, he realized things weren't as simple as he thought.
After duplicating a mere 300 leaves, the entire corpse just vanished. This was wholly out of Rasul's expectations.
Rasul looked at the leaf in his hand, and he felt a pang of pain in his heart. Why wouldn't he? His precious treasure trove had just vanished. 'These leaves consume too much Daniel!!!'
Thankfully, he still had the Gibson family experts' corpses. Their corpses were bound to content heaping piles of Daniel.
Sadly, Rasul was a modern man. He couldn't just desecrate a fellow human's corpse... so soon. He decided to ignore them... for the time being.
Rasul returned to his clean spot and ate a few fruits to sate his hunger. After his stomach calmed down, he immersed himself in healing his meridians.
