C13 First encounter
Wu You was lying on a tree, eating the fruits he picked on the way down the mountain, while waiting for his third martial uncle and fifth martial uncle. Just as he was about to explain why these two people were so slow, he heard someone speak.
He immediately changed his posture and threw away the half-eaten fruit in his hand. Then, he saw Third Senior Martial Uncle leading a few disciples down the mountain.
They were talking about something, and Wuyou was listening quietly from a tree. He planned to follow them to Yang City, and not let Third Martial Aunt and Fifth Martial Aunt find out.
Moreover, this time he quietly went down the mountain. Without the permission of his master, he didn't know how his master would punish him when he came back, but it didn't matter. As long as he could find the real culprit and avenge his fellow brothers and sisters, it was worth it.
Thus, Wuyou followed Third and Fifth Senior Masters from far away, so they were not discovered. After they descended the mountain, they arrived at the small town at the foot of the mountain and rented a few horses.
It would take a day or two for them to go completely on foot. Thus, Xiao Wen Chang and Wen Qing decided to go on horseback.
This would save them a lot of time, but up until now, they still didn't know that Worryfree had been following them. When Wuyou saw that the three martial uncles actually planned to ride their horses, he immediately felt that something was amiss.
When he went down the mountain, he didn't even think about getting his hands on his plate, so it could be said that he was penniless. If Martial Uncle and the others were to ride a horse, he definitely wouldn't be able to catch them.
As he thought of this, Wuyou did not know what to do. He watched as the martial uncles rode their horses away, leaving behind only a trail of dust. He looked around anxiously because he did not know the way to Yang City, and if he did not follow them, he would not be able to find it.
Just as he was walking in circles, he saw a mule. He didn't know whose house it belonged to, but when it was tied to a tree by the side of the road, he immediately thought of it.
He looked around to make sure no one had spotted him, then untied the rope the mule was tied to the tree. Worryfree knew it was wrong, but he had no choice.
He could only do so. Although a mule was far inferior to a horse, having one was still better than not having one. At least, it was faster than him walking. Wu You rode on a mule, looking at the backs of his martial uncles who had already run far away.
They started to head towards the direction of the Mizar City. Thankfully, the road they were on was covered with dirt, and the horses' hooves were left behind. Without any oil, they were able to follow the trail of the horses' hooves.
But what drove Wuyou mad was that he didn't expect a mule to be so hard to ride. He had learned to ride a horse, and the horse was very obedient and easy to ride, but now he really couldn't handle the mule under his butt at all.
Worryfree told it to go ahead, so it went to the side to graze. Thinking that it was hungry, it patiently waited for it to finish eating. However, the mule seemed to be intentionally avoiding it, so it didn't hurry up.
There was nothing he could do about it. He stole a carrot from the vegetable patch on the side of the road and hung it on a stick and string. He rode on the mule and lured it forward with the carrot.
The mule could only keep running forward if he wanted to eat the carrot. Seeing that the mule was obedient, the mule was overjoyed.
While Wuyou was racking his brains to let the mule pass, Wen Qing and Xiao Wen Chang, who were riding on their horses, arrived at Xunyang City.
They had already made contact with Lu Changting, so they knew which inn they were in. As soon as they entered the city, they went to meet them at that small inn.
Of course, Heaven's Inquisition knew of their arrival, but they had gone to their room to discuss matters as soon as they arrived, so Heaven's Inquisition had no idea what they were talking about.
In the afternoon, when it was almost nighttime, Wu You finally saw the city walls of Xunyang City in the distance. Half of the carrots on the ropes had already been eaten by the mules.
Arriving at the city gates, Wuyou raised his head to look at the three words written on the gates: "Xunyang City". After a day of hard work, he and his mule had finally arrived at Xunyang City.
However, he still had one more problem. Even though he had arrived at Xunyang City, he had already lost track of his Third and Fifth Martial Uncles.
He didn't know where to look for them. Although Xunyang City wasn't a big city, it was still quite difficult to find a few people in it.
But Worryfree would not give up on such a small problem. He tied the mule to the grass by the side of the road and went into the city.
It was almost night time, so Wuyou also felt hungry, because he only ate breakfast today and spent the rest of his time on the journey, but he didn't have any money on him, so he couldn't go to the tavern to eat.
Right now, the person he wanted to meet the most was Third Senior Uncle and the others. Normally, they were very strict with Worryfree, and he was a little afraid of them. However, between his uncles and his hungry stomach, he would rather choose his Senior Uncle and the others.
Wuyou was walking along the street while rubbing his belly. What he didn't know was that not far from the same street, the handsome young master sitting in the main hall of the inn was his own younger brother.
Worryfree had been hurrying on his journey for an entire day, and didn't even have the time to drink a mouthful of saliva. Thus, his clothes and face were filthy, like a beggar's.
He came to the inn where Heaven's Inquisition was located. Unfortunately, Lu Changding and the others were not at the inn, so he did not know what they were investigating.
Worryfree was really hungry. He smelled the fragrance of the food drifting out of the inn and couldn't help but swallow his saliva. He couldn't help but get closer, but this action of his caused the waiter to be dissatisfied.
He thought that Wuyou was just a beggar, so he wanted to kick him out with a look of disdain. However, Wuyou said that he wanted to eat. The waiter asked him if he had money.
Wuyou hesitated for a while and shook his head. The waiter felt that this person was a fool, so he coaxed him out while saying, "He's crazy if he comes to eat without money."
Ling'er and Tian Wen sat in the corner of the inn, watching the entire scene. Tian Wen looked at the beggar that the waiter had spoken of, and felt a strange feeling in his heart, unable to say anything.
Thus, he told Ling'er to call Wu You in. Ling'er thought it was strange, young master was usually very cold, even if he saw something like this, he wouldn't interfere, so the young master said not to meddle in other people's business.
What was going on today? She actually offered to help that beggar. Although she didn't know what her master wanted, she still went over. He told the waiter that his young master wanted to see him.
The waiter saw that the young master was well-dressed and did not want to offend him, so he hurriedly let Wuyou in. Ling`er said that someone wanted to see him. He thought that there might be something to eat, so he followed Ling'er inside.
Wuyou looked at Heaven's Inquisition sitting across the table, and Heaven's Inquisition also looked at him. An indescribable feeling suddenly arose in Wuyou's heart, and he felt as if he had seen this person somewhere before.
So he asked, "Have we met before?" Heaven's Inquisition wanted to ask, but he knew they had never seen one, so he shook his head.
Wuyou nodded, then thought about how he had always been raised on Mount Wudang and how Grand Master forbade him to go down the mountain, so it was impossible for him to see this person.
Just as the two of them were at a loss for words, a loud sound came from Wuyou's stomach, so loud that even Ling'er, who was standing beside Tianwen, heard it.
Ling'er couldn't help but laugh out loud. Wuyou rubbed his stomach, smiling in embarrassment. Heaven's Inquisition told Ling'er to prepare some food for Wuyou to eat.
When Wuyou heard that there was food to eat, he immediately laughed. Seeing that Heaven's Inquisition sitting opposite him was not some bad guy, he started the conversation. He asked Heaven's Inquisition what it was called and why it was here.
Tian Wen did not answer, but the same question returned Wu Dang's question. Wu You, on the other hand, did not hesitate and told him his name, saying that he had come to Xunyang City to look for someone. However, he did not say that he was Wu Dang's man, nor did he say who he was looking for.
Not long after, the waiter began serving the dishes. After a day of hunger, Wuyou saw the dishes on the table and drool started dripping down his face. Without waiting for the dishes to arrive, he began to wolf down his food.
After eating a few bites and remembering that there were still two more people, he raised his head and looked at Heaven's Inquisition and Ling'er. Seeing them, Ling'er couldn't help but laugh. She hurriedly shook her head and said, "They've already eaten."
Hearing the words of Heaven's Inquisition, Wuyou ignored them and continued eating. Heaven's Inquisition sat across from him, waiting for him to finish eating.
Just as Wuyou finished eating and burped, a surprised voice suddenly called out, "Wuyou?"
Upon hearing the familiar voice, Wu You hurriedly turned around. Upon seeing that it was the third senior uncle and the others, Wu You hurriedly stood up and walked to the door.
Wuyou's three martial uncles saw Wuyou here and felt that it was unbelievable, because Wuyou should be at Mount Wudang right now, so they asked why he was here.
Wuyou scratched his head, saying, "I eavesdropped on your conversation with the Grand Master, so I secretly followed." Lu Changding was going to scold Wu You for saying so.
Seeing that his Senior Master was about to lose his temper, Wuyou quickly said, since he had already come, even if his Senior Master and the rest chased him away, he would not leave.
Hearing him say this, Lu Changding could not shake him off no matter how hard he tried. Thus, he tried to scare him, "If your master finds out, I'll see how you'll be punished when you go back!"
When Wuyou heard this, he smiled. He knew that his uncles would not chase him away, so he thought of Heaven's Inquisition. Thus, he led his master and the others over.
Heaven's Inquisition did not expect this person to not only not be a beggar, but also have a deep relationship with Wu Dang Mountain. When he saw Wuyou bringing a few of Wu Dang's seniors over, he hurriedly stood up. Towards these seniors of the Wudang Sect, he was still quite respectful.
Wuyou then introduced them to Heaven's Inquisition, saying that these were his martial uncles, and when he introduced Heaven's Inquisition to them, he was stuck. Because Heaven's Inquisition had yet to tell Wuyou his name.
Seeing that, Tian Wen cupped his hands and said: "Junior, Tian Wen Sect's senior Wu Dang has arrived!" As soon as Lu Changding heard this, he realized that this was the Heaven's question about the Sect Leader of the Heaven Gate, he never expected him to be so young.
Judging from his age, he seemed to be around the same age as Wuyou. Unexpectedly, he was already a Sect Leader at such a young age. This Heaven Gate was a small sect that had been slowly rising up in the martial arts world in the recent years.
They were mainly collecting information about the martial arts world. Although there weren't many people here, the efficiency was very high. According to the legends in the martial arts world, the Sky Gate was full of experts.
Their Sect Leader, Heaven's Inquisition, was an extremely mysterious person and almost no one in the martial arts world had ever seen him before. They never thought that they would be able to meet and recognize him in this small city.
In truth, Heaven's Inquisition wasn't lying. The Heaven Gate also existed, and he was indeed the leader of the Heaven Gate. However, Heaven's Inquisition was not the one who founded the Heaven's Gate. It was his grandfather, Nangong Jue.
The Devil Sect was the only sect in the martial arts world that could openly contend with the other great sects. Without a backer, it was impossible for them to not have one. Thus, Nangong Jue created the Heaven's Gate and gave it to Tian Wen to manage.
Under the management of Heaven's Inquisition, the Heaven Gate sect quickly gained a great reputation in the martial arts world. To outsiders, the sect was an intelligence gathering organization.
But at the same time, it was also a source of information for the Devil Sect. Under the management of Heaven's Inquisition, the Heaven's Inquisition had made great progress every day.
