C17 Selling the Mutated Beast's Corpse

Yu Kun had slain numerous mutated beasts in the Cloud Connecting Mountain Range, consuming them to boost his cultivation. Yet, leveling up remained a challenge.

Nonetheless, Yu Kun was content. For most, advancing from Intermediate to High Rank in Qi Refining could take upwards of seven or eight months, but he had managed it in just a week.

Still, Yu Kun didn't take time to rest.

He had a sizable collection of mutated beast carcasses to deal with!

While not every carcass was worth a fortune, a good number certainly were.

His plan was to trade these carcasses for treasures, then focus on his Martial Arts training.

Yu Kun slipped on a ring, feigning possession of a Space Ring, before heading to a trading post outside the Flying Cloud Sect.

Warriors would often sell unneeded treasures, which is why a Chamber of Commerce thrived near the Sect. Here, warriors could sell their surplus items, with the Sect ensuring the merchants' safety. In turn, these merchants provided income opportunities for the Sect's disciples.

Upon entering the Chamber of Commerce, Yu Kun was promptly approached by a servant inquiring about his business.

"I've come to sell," Yu Kun stated succinctly. "I've slain some mutated beasts and thought their carcasses might be of value to someone here."

"Please wait here. An appraiser will evaluate the quality and potential uses of the carcasses and then we'll offer you a reference price," the servant replied.

Yu Kun nodded and settled into a quiet corner to wait.

Observing his surroundings, he noted many martial cultivators engaged in transactions, with appraisers busy assessing their wares.

"This Chamber of Commerce is quite modest, lacking even an appraisal room. But it seems most of these disciples are Elite. Perhaps those from the Inner Sect are accorded greater privileges," Yu Kun mused, coming to terms with the situation.

Before long, an appraiser from the Chamber arrived at his side.

"Show me the mutated beast carcasses you've hunted. You're not carrying a bag—do you have a Space Ring or some similar treasure?" the appraiser asked bluntly.

Yu Kun gave a nod. He casually stroked his Space Ring, as if by accident, and proceeded to withdraw all the corpses of the mutated beasts from the Leviathan-roc Space.

The appraiser methodically examined each of the beast corpses, nodding thoughtfully.

"You've hunted quite a collection of mutated beasts," he observed.

After calculating their worth, he informed Yu Kun, "The total comes to 17.5 Spirit Stones. Since the Chamber of Commerce doesn't deal in half stones, you might consider purchasing some items with the balance."

Yu Kun acknowledged with another nod, "There's more. I have one more corpse. How many Spirit Stones might it fetch?"

With that, he presented the python's corpse.

The appraiser's expression turned peculiar at the sight of the python, and he was visibly taken aback.

He ran his fingers along the python's bones, his eyes gleaming with excitement. "Such formidable bones! This is no ordinary mutated beast; it's on the verge of becoming a demonic beast! You've managed to hunt a creature of this caliber—you're quite skilled!"

Yu Kun chuckled sheepishly, "It was mostly luck. So, what's the value?"

"A typical Azure Anaconda would be worth three Spirit Stones, but this one, nearing demonic status, is worth at least twenty! I can't pin down the exact value without further consultation," the appraiser explained, then added, "Would you mind waiting here for a short while?"

"Sure, I'll wait," Yu Kun replied with a smile, watching the appraiser depart with a surge of anticipation.

It dawned on him how effortlessly warriors could amass wealth, earning substantial sums by slaying just a handful of mutated beasts.

"I'm at the Intermediate Rank of Qi Refining, and thanks to my training in the Great Vajra Palm and the unique Leviathan-roc Astral Energy, I can take down mutated beasts with ease. Others at my level wouldn't find it nearly as simple," he mused, his excitement giving way to a sense of calm.

By then, Yu Kun had received his payment for the other beast corpses. The addition of more than ten Spirit Stones to his possession brought him immense joy.

"Now, let's see what this Movement Technique is all about."

He took out the tome Zhou Xingtian had given him and began to study it, gaining a solid grasp of the technique.

"Grade Two Movement Technique, the Shocking Wind Steps. It may not be intricate, but it's sure to significantly boost my speed."

Yu Kun inquired, "How many Spirit Stones are required to master the Shocking Wind Steps?"

The system paused briefly before responding, "Five."

Yu Kun was taken aback, "It took so many Spirit Stones to learn the Great Vajra Palm, and now only five for the Shocking Wind Steps?"

"The Great Vajra Palm is a Grade Two Martial Art. You upgraded it to a Grade Four Martial Art, which cost you fifteen Spirit Stones. The Shocking Wind Steps, being a Grade Two Martial Art, doesn't need upgrading. You only need to consume five Spirit Stones to learn it."

Yu Kun felt a sense of relief. It made sense that the Great Vajra Palm, as a Grade Four Martial Art, was more costly to learn.

With the Shocking Wind Steps requiring merely five Spirit Stones, Yu Kun was more than willing to proceed. After consuming the five Spirit Stones, he instantly mastered the technique.

He took a couple of steps, nodding in approval.

"I haven't even started to utilize the Shocking Wind Steps, but my speed has already improved. Had I known this technique on the day I faced that python, it wouldn't have stood a chance! With the Vajra Worshipping Moon, I could have attacked from a distance and easily slain it!"

Reflecting on this, Yu Kun grew increasingly appreciative of Zhou Xingtian's magnanimity.

"I traded a Shadow Soul Grass for his Grade Two Movement Technique. It was a fair exchange. Besides, that Shadow Soul Grass was actually composed of the baby Leviathan's excretions."

While Yu Kun was mulling over this, he was abruptly interrupted by a voice, "An Azure Anaconda? I'll buy it from you."

Yu Kun was momentarily taken aback, then his brow furrowed, betraying a trace of annoyance.

He didn't recognize the speaker, but the condescending tone was irksome, reminiscent of Inner Sect disciples like Yan Changge and Chen Feng.
