C4 Selecting Martial Arts
Chen Rui had never faced such a threat before.
Yu Kun was merely a common disciple, while Chen Rui hailed from an affluent family.
Now, under Yu Kun's menacing threat, Chen Rui was petrified. He hastily acquiesced to Yu Kun's demands.
However, Chen Rui soon found himself in a bind, admitting, "I truly don't have thousands of Spirit Stones."
Yu Kun's eyebrows arched as he declared, "If you can't produce that many Spirit Stones, I'll have no choice but to cripple you."
Chen Rui, in a panic, blurted out, "Wait! I can give you twenty Spirit Stones to start."
Yu Kun mused, "An Elite Disciple only earns five Spirit Stones a month, so him offering twenty is quite substantial. Despite being a wealthy scion, Chen Rui couldn't possibly hand over thousands of Spirit Stones on the spot. I'll accept the twenty for now."
With a measured tone, Yu Kun stated, "Alright, hand over twenty Spirit Stones, and I'll spare you."
Chen Rui nodded frantically and retrieved a pouch containing the Spirit Stones from his Space Ring.
Yu Kun took the Spirit Stones, then eyed Chen Rui's ring curiously.
"What's this?"
Chen Rui explained hastily, "It's a Space Ring. It can store many items, though not living beings. Simply channel Innate Astral Qi to open it."
Realization dawned on Yu Kun, who promptly removed the Space Ring from Chen Rui's finger.
"Nice Space Ring, but it belongs to me now!" Yu Kun remarked. "Thanks for the tutorial. I'll let you off this time."
Yu Kun clenched his fist and warned icily, "If I catch you pulling something like this again, I won't be so lenient."
With those words, Yu Kun stashed the Spirit Stones into the Space Ring and strode off toward the library.
He had not only given Chen Rui a thrashing but also acquired a wealth of Spirit Stones and a valuable Space Ring.
Yu Kun felt quite satisfied with his haul.
Yet, while Yu Kun reveled in his triumph, Chen Rui was on the verge of tears.
Chen Rui had been humiliated and beaten publicly, and now, all his possessions had been taken by Yu Kun. In that moment, Chen Rui was utterly disheartened.
As his followers approached, he bellowed, "Come with me!"
They responded, "We'll get revenge for you and take down Yu Kun."
Before the man could finish, Chen Rui slapped him across the face.
"We're no match for him at the moment. We need reinforcements. Come with me to the Inner Sect. I refuse to believe he can outfight the Elite Disciples there."
Yu Kun was on his way to the library when he realized the Space Ring had vanished.
He had just learned from the System that the Space Ring was imbued with Spiritual Energy and could be consumed and absorbed.
So, Yu Kun swallowed the Space Ring without hesitation.
"You've devoured a Space Ring, gaining 500 points of progress. The Leviathan-roc Space is now accessible, allowing you to store and retrieve items at will."
"It will take three days to digest it."
Yu Kun was somewhat perplexed.
By activating the Leviathan-roc Space, he had harnessed the Space Ring to unlock a new dimension, preserving its item storage function. Yet, to Yu Kun's dismay, it would take three full days to digest.
And he hadn't even leveled up.
To clear up Yu Kun's confusion, the System clarified, "The less Spiritual Energy an item contains, the quicker the digestion. Conversely, the more Spiritual Energy present, the longer it takes. The Growth Value you gain from defeating enemies can increase the Leviathan-roc's level, expediting the digestion process."
Yu Kun grasped the concept at once.
With a touch of frustration, Yu Kun remarked, "Even after swallowing something, I still have to digest it. Without fully digesting, there's no benefit. And to think it takes this long to digest a single Space Ring."
But upon further reflection, Yu Kun appreciated the system's design.
Given that he couldn't cultivate through traditional means, his only option was to absorb items laden with Spiritual Energy.
If he could bolster his power without the need to digest his consumption, his leveling pace would be excessively swift.
"I'm currently at 150,500 points. Just another 500 points and I'll level up. It's incredible that in just three days, I've progressed from the Low Rank Qi Refining Stage to the Intermediate Rank."
With this thought, Yu Kun's spirits lifted.
He arrived at the library, and this time, he entered without any hindrance.
The library was under the watchful eye of an elderly man. Upon inspecting Yu Kun's token, he granted him access to the library.
"As an Elite Disciple, you're entitled to select a Martial Arts technique from the library. However, your status only permits you to explore the first floor," the old man informed Yu Kun. "Elite Disciples may opt to undertake certain missions for the sect. Should your contributions be significant, you'll earn the privilege of accessing the upper levels of the library."
Yu Kun nodded in understanding and expressed his gratitude to the old man before proceeding into the library.
Inside, the library was a labyrinth of bookshelves, each brimming with an array of books that left Yu Kun in awe.
Several Flying Cloud Sect disciples were engrossed in studying Martial Arts. They barely glanced up as Yu Kun entered.
Approaching a bookshelf, Yu Kun was taken aback to find it exclusively stocked with Fist Technique manuals.
"With so many books on Fist Technique, how will I ever get through them all?" he wondered, feeling overwhelmed. The first floor was a treasure trove of Martial Arts knowledge, with ten rows dedicated just to Fist Technique. It was impossible for Yu Kun to digest such a vast collection.
He knew he couldn't just pick any Martial Arts book to study; he had to be selective and take his time.
Then, Yu Kun's attention was captured by two disciples at another bookshelf, fervently debating over an ancient tome.
"You shouldn't study that Palm Technique. Don't be swayed just because it's a Grade Two Martial Arts," one advised.
"But if all the books here are Grade One, and there's only this one Grade Two, why shouldn't I study it?" the other contested.
Their conversation piqued Yu Kun's curiosity.
