C70 Yu Kun and the Dog Were Not Allowed to Enter!

Yu Kun couldn't help but acknowledge that despite Elder Hee's advanced age, he remained quite the character. When it came to getting under someone's skin, Yu Kun was convinced that Elder Hee could hold his own against anyone.

"Hee must have been quite the prankster in his youth! He's actually got me taking things seriously. Well, I refuse to play along. Once I've condensed my Martial Soul, he's bound to teach me!"

Yu Kun quickly organized the items in his hands and placed them in his room before leaving the small courtyard.

Having received his sect's reward, Yu Kun was eager to head to the Cultivation Room to condense his Martial Soul without delay.

After waiting for so long, Yu Kun was anxious to turn his fortunes around. Even though a few Inner Sect disciples had skimmed off his sect reward, Yu Kun had managed to gain even more from those two disciples. All in all, he came out ahead.

This wasn't Yu Kun's first trip to the Cultivation Room; he knew the way well. Upon arriving, he recognized several Elite Disciples he had met before. But unlike before, these disciples didn't fawn over him; they seemed to want nothing to do with him. Unbothered, Yu Kun entered the Cultivation Room on his own.

"The Cultivation Room spans four levels: Grade A, Grade B, Grade C, and Grade D. The ground floor is the lowest level and is reserved for Elite Disciples. As an Inner Sect disciple, I'm entitled to the subterranean level—the Grade C Cultivation Room."

With that in mind, Yu Kun located the staircase to the lower level. However, he was puzzled to see the staircase to the Cultivation Room blocked by several Inner Sect disciples.

Yu Kun's brow creased slightly, but he didn't dwell on it and made his way toward them.

As he neared the stairs, one of the Inner Sect disciples abruptly halted him.

"Halt!" the disciple said icily. "The level below is the Grade C Cultivation Room, accessible only to Inner Sect disciples."

Yu Kun's frown deepened as he produced his token and replied, "I am an Inner Sect disciple as well."

"Let me clarify one thing. Only Inner Sect disciples are permitted entry, but Yu Kun is expressly forbidden."

The Inner Sect disciple couldn't help but laugh smugly at his own remark.

Another chimed in, "He's the man who aims to outdo us Inner Sect disciples, so naturally, he can't be treated the same! You're relegated to the Grade D Cultivation Room for your training!"

Yu Kun's fists tightened, a flicker of anger crossing his face.

Yet, Yu Kun was well aware that despite his ability to take on Inner Sect disciples one-on-one, he was no match for a group of them.

Reflecting on previous battles, Yu Kun realized he could only best a single Inner Sect disciple. Against more than one, he'd have to consume a Spirit Stone or face certain defeat.

As Yu Kun debated whether to engage, a Mutated Beast Hound scampered in, also headed for the underground level.

One Inner Sect disciple rose to shoo away the stray, but then, with a change of heart, allowed the creature entry.

He then pointed at Yu Kun, laughing heartily, "We'd let a dog in before we ever let you through!"

Yu Kun's eyes bulged, his face reddening with indignation, but he soon regained his composure.

"Damn, I won't forget this insult. I'm not strong enough to defeat so many Inner Sect disciples now, but once I reach the Martial Soul realm, the average Inner Sect disciple will pose no threat to me! I'll have my revenge then!"

With that thought, Yu Kun turned to leave.

But as he did, he caught sight of the Little Prince.

The Little Prince looked at Yu Kun with surprise before beckoning, "Liang Qi, come here quickly!"

The Inner Sect disciple who had been harassing Yu Kun hurried over and inquired, "Little Prince, do you need something?"

"I wasn't calling you," the Little Prince said with a dismissive wave. "I was calling my dog."

Liang Qi's face turned beet red, but he restrained himself from lashing out at the Little Prince.

After a tense pause, Liang Qi spoke up quietly, "Little Prince, Liang Qi is my name."

Realization dawned on the Little Prince. "Oh, you share a name with my dog. That's unfortunate."

Liang Qi offered a sycophantic smile and said, "Indeed, it's not good at all."

"It's unacceptable. Which means you need a new name," the Little Prince declared with a straight face. "My dog's name is Liang Qi, so you can't share that name. From now on, you'll be Liang Ba."

Feeling even more humiliated, Liang Qi protested, "Does this mean I'm ranked lower than a dog?"

The Little Prince doubled down, "Precisely, you're not on par with my dog."

Liang Qi balled his fists, yet he ultimately held back any retort.

Impatiently snapping his fingers, the Little Prince commanded, "Liang Ba, step aside. I need to go down for my cultivation practice."

Without hesitation, Liang Qi cleared the path, allowing the Little Prince to descend.

But after only a few steps, the Little Prince paused and pivoted to gaze at Yu Kun. "Yu Kun, join me below," he invited.

Liang Qi quickly interjected, "Little Prince—"

The Little Prince snapped back, "Liang Ba, watch your tongue! My dog hasn't spoken yet; what makes you think you can?"

Liang Qi's face flushed with further embarrassment.

Yet, it seemed that no one within the Inner Sect had the standing to ridicule him, except for the Little Prince.

After all, he was the legitimate eldest son of the Pingjiang County King.

And the Flying Cloud Sect was merely one of the many sects under Pingjiang County's governance.

So, Liang Qi had no choice but to silently lead several Inner Sect disciples aside, clearing the way for Yu Kun and the Little Prince to proceed to the underground Cultivation Room.

Upon reaching the Grade C Cultivation Room, Yu Kun halted, his face etched with complexity as he regarded the Little Prince.

After a moment, Yu Kun ventured to ask, "Little Prince, with everyone in the Inner Sect eager to see me dead, why don't you share their desire?"

The Little Prince casually gestured and explained, "I have a flaw: I'm arrogant. I'm convinced that anyone I choose to believe in is exceptional. Even if their abilities are lacking, I'll support them with all my heart. I see greatness in you, so naturally, you are great. Regardless of what the folks at Flying Cloud Tower might say about your abilities, in my eyes, you're outstanding."

He paused briefly before continuing, "You're facing difficulties within the Inner Sect. Should there come a day when you find it impossible to stay in the Flying Cloud Sect, remember you always have a place at the Pingjiang County King's Mansion. I'll be waiting for you."

With those words, the Little Prince, followed by his Mutated Beast Hound, made his way to the next level.

The Grade B Cultivation Room on that floor was reserved for Direct Disciples. Yet, as an elite Inner Sect disciple, the Little Prince was certainly entitled to enter.

Watching the Little Prince depart, Yu Kun couldn't suppress a deep sigh.

"The Little Prince truly stands out. He may not recognize my unique abilities, but he refuses to oppress the weak. It's clear he's destined to leave the Flying Cloud Sect eventually. A shallow river can't contain a dragon!"

With his extensive experience from two lifetimes, Yu Kun could easily discern such truths.

The Flying Cloud Sect was but a shallow river, and the Little Prince, a mighty dragon within it.

Shaking off further musings, Yu Kun entered an unoccupied Cultivation Room, ready to focus on his practice.
