In the dilapidated courtyard, Yu Kun encountered Hee Dongqing once again. Dongqing had clearly bounced back from the slump he was in a few days prior, looking much more spirited. Upon Yu Kun's return, Dongqing didn't bother to look up, instead asking offhandedly, "You haven't been back to the Flying Cloud Sect recently. Were you out on a Sect Mission?"

"No, I went to find something worthwhile."

With a smile, Yu Kun produced a scale and presented it, "Old Hee, take a gander at this, will you?"

Dongqing gave an exasperated eye roll, "Old Hee?"

"Master, what do you make of this? I came across it after slaying some mutated beasts in the Cloud Connecting Mountain Range."

Taking the scale from Yu Kun, Dongqing examined it closely, his face suddenly turning grave.

"Where exactly did you find this?"

Yu Kun sighed, feeling the weight of repetition, "In the Cloud Connecting Mountains, after defeating a few mutated beasts."

Dongqing inhaled sharply, concern etching his features, "Were these beasts well-organized? Some dull and sluggish, others surprisingly sentient?"

Yu Kun confirmed with a nod.

"This confirms it," Dongqing murmured, his brow furrowing. "This is a command among demonic beasts. This scale is from a squad tasked with scouring the Cold Moon Mountain Range for treasures imbued with Spiritual Energy, all to heal a Demonic King!"

Yu Kun's eyes widened, "A Demonic King? I'm lucky it didn't come after me."

Shaking his head, Dongqing clarified, "Yes, there is a Demonic King, but not in the Cloud Connecting Mountains. He's hidden in the Cold Moon Mountain Range. In terms of our Human Clan, he'd be on par with a Martial Master! Even wounded, he's out of your league."

Dongqing's frown deepened, "This information is crucial. If you report this to the Flying Cloud Sect, you could be in for a reward. By the way, did you find anything else on those beasts?"

Yu Kun shrugged, "Just a damaged ring. I thought it might be a Space Ring, but since I couldn't open it, I tossed it aside."

In truth, Yu Kun was spinning a tale, unable to explain the system's existence, so he resorted to this fabrication to mislead Hee Dongqing.

Upon hearing this, Hee Dongqing burst out in anger, "That's a space ring belonging to a demonic beast!"

Yu Kun's heart leapt with joy—Hee Dongqing indeed possessed extensive knowledge about demonic beasts. Yet, he kept his composure, quickly inquiring, "If it's a space ring, why can't I open it?"

"You can't open it because it's designed for a demonic beast, not a human martial artist!" Hee Dongqing retorted. "A martial artist's space ring is activated with Astral Energy, but a demonic beast's requires Blood Energy!"

"We cultivators harness Astral and Spiritual Energy, whereas demonic beasts draw upon Blood Energy and their bloodlines. To unlock a demonic beast's space ring, you need their blood—it's no surprise you're unable to open it."

Hee Dongqing sighed deeply before continuing, "I can't believe you just discarded the demonic beast's space ring! If you had brought it to me, I might have been able to unlock it. Within the Divine Rune Art, there's a rune capable of altering its nature, transforming a demonic beast's space ring into one usable by a martial disciple."

Hee Dongqing, noticing Yu Kun's hopeful gaze, cleared his throat and added, "I possess that very Divine Rune. However, it requires the skill of a Stage Four Divine Rune Master to wield, and you, my friend, are only at Stage One."

Yu Kun held back further questions, but soon followed up with, "What about this scale, then? How should I handle it?"

"Given your current power, slaying the Demonic King is out of the question. Even wounded, it would take an elder's might to defeat him. A direct confrontation would be a death sentence for you. Nonetheless, presenting this scale to the Flying Cloud Sect could earn you a reward. I suspect the sect will summon the Inner Sect disciples to hunt down the Demonic King. Succeed, and additional rewards will surely follow."

Hee Dongqing remarked, "While it may not compare to the Demon Hunting Battlefield, the bounty for slaying a Demonic King is certainly lavish!"

Curiosity piqued, Yu Kun inquired, "What exactly is the Demon Hunting Battlefield? You've mentioned it before, and I've overheard others speak of it as well."

"The Demon Hunting Battlefield is a relic site bordering both the Northern Chill Realm and the Demon Clan's Demon Realm. Each year, a select few Direct Disciples venture in to vanquish formidable foes from the Demon Clan. Those who emerge alive gain substantial support and training! But this doesn't concern you for now, as you're merely an Inner Sect disciple. The Battlefield won't open until next year," Dongqing explained.

Yu Kun nodded, choosing not to delve further into the topic of the Demon Hunting Battlefield.

"I had intended to rest a bit, but now I'll take this scale to the sect," he decided.

Having gathered the information he sought, Yu Kun felt no urgency to access his Space Ring. Though he lacked Demonic Beast blood, he possessed a Demonic Beast's carcass. By extracting some blood from it, he could address his current predicament.

Yu Kun made his way along the Inner Sect's pathways until he reached the Law Enforcement Hall. Upon entering, he encountered the Inner Sect's Law Enforcement Disciples.

The Law Enforcement Hall stood in stark contrast to the other chambers within the Flying Cloud Sect, exuding an air of solemnity. Disciples here conversed in hushed tones, respecting the hall's gravitas.

The hall's staff primarily consisted of former Inner Sect disciples and notably skilled Elite Disciples, ensuring fairness and preventing abuse of power.

Upon Yu Kun's arrival, a Law Enforcement Disciple promptly approached to inquire about his visit.

"I was training in the Cloud Connecting Mountain Range when I came across a mutated beast and obtained a crucial command from it. I wish to report this to the Sect Master," Yu Kun stated earnestly.

"A demonic beast's command!" The Law-enforcing Disciple's interest was visibly piqued. "Where in the Cloud Connecting Mountain Range did you find it?"

"It was deep within, close to the Cold Moon Mountain Range," Yu Kun elaborated. "I acquired it from a Human-snake Beast."

"I've heard that the Pingjiang County King wounded a Demonic King, who then vanished into the Cold Moon Mountain Range. If your information is accurate, this decree could very well pinpoint the Demonic King's whereabouts!" The Law-enforcing Disciple gave Yu Kun's shoulder an encouraging pat and continued, "Should that be the case, you'll have played a pivotal role! For now, Junior Brother, come with me to the guest room for a brief respite. I'll discuss the matter with the Elder and determine the appropriate reward for you." Yu Kun nodded in agreement and accompanied the Law-enforcing Disciple to a guest room within the Law Enforcement Hall to await further news.
