C98 Naming Leviathan-roc Hut

Yu Kun had a mutual arrangement with Peng Li, each willing to purchase items for the other. Yet, to the members of the Chamber of Commerce, their exchange held a different significance.

As Peng Li personally escorted Yu Kun from the premises, a buzz of speculation rose among the attendants.

"Peng Li is notoriously difficult; he barely acknowledges anyone. A single word out of place, and he's quick to chastise us. So why is he treating that young man with such kindness today?"

"Could the young man be family? But I've never heard of Peng Li having such a young relative."

"Whatever the case, Peng Li clearly holds that young man in high regard."

"We'd better roll out the red carpet for him when he returns. A commendation from him could earn us favor in Peng Li's eyes."

Unbeknownst to the other attendants, Yu Kun's identity and the reason for Peng Li's respect remained a mystery.

The young attendant who had introduced Yu Kun to Peng Li, however, understood the situation. Witnessing Peng Li's deference towards Yu Kun, she was taken aback but also filled with joy.

"I was the one who presented that warrior to Lord Peng Li. This achievement is mine," she thought with pride.

Lost in her thoughts, she was startled to see Peng Li approaching her.

Her heart raced with anticipation.

From his Space Ring, Peng Li produced an item, addressing the young attendant, "You were the one who brought that warrior to me. He possessed something I needed, and I am well pleased. As a token of my appreciation, I present you with these Medicine Pills."

With that, he handed her several Medicine Pills.

Overjoyed and with a grateful nod, she accepted the gift. The envious glances from her peers only heightened her sense of gratitude. Yet, her thanks were not for Peng Li, but for Yu Kun, who had already departed—though he would remain unaware of her sentiments.

Back at the Flying Cloud Sect's Inner Sect, Yu Kun was content. Selling the mutated beast to the Chamber of Commerce would have netted him a mere handful of Spirit Stones, but Peng Li had agreed to two hundred.

"Alchemists are rumored to be flush with wealth, and now I see it's true. From now on, I'll consider dealing directly with Alchemists for my sales."

Yu Kun mulled over a nagging question in his mind.

"Peng Li mentioned that each Inner Sect disciple's dwelling has a name. So why doesn't mine? Could Hee have forgotten? I should ask him about it."

Upon Yu Kun's return to Hee Dongqing's residence, he noticed plaques adorning the doors of the other Inner Sect disciples' homes, each inscribed with their names. The plaques were crafted with exquisite detail, fitting for the Inner Sect disciples' abodes.

Yet, at some residences, the plaques bore names of people other than the occupants. Yu Kun found it puzzling and decided it was best not to dwell on it.

Back at Hee Dongqing's place, the absence of a plaque was stark. Furthermore, Hee's dwelling stood in stark contrast to the opulent quarters of the other Inner Sect disciples—it was nothing more than a dilapidated thatch hut.

Yu Kun called out, "Hee, what are you up to? I've arrived!"

Hee Dongqing emerged, his brow furrowed. He gave Yu Kun a quick look and asked, "Why have you returned so quickly? Weren't you at the Law Enforcement Hall?"

"Yes, I was. I even exchanged for a Grade Four Movement Technique and some Spirit Stones. But let's set that aside for now and focus on the matter at hand," Yu Kun said. "I noticed that all the other Inner Sect disciples' homes have named plaques. Why don't we have one?"

Hee Dongqing paused, a wry smile forming on his face.

"Of course, our place doesn't have a named plaque. Let me explain. Because of her, I indirectly caused the death of many Direct Disciples, earning me the label of a traitor. Had it not been for my significant past contributions, I would have been executed long ago. In my current state, without even a single disciple, how could I possibly have a plaque?"

He paused, then continued, "When I first arrived here, I did try to make a few plaques, but they were always destroyed by nightfall. I kept watch several times, but those Inner Sect disciples have too much time on their hands. The moment I stopped guarding the plaques, they'd have someone come over and smash them."

Yu Kun nodded thoughtfully.

Hee Dongqing gestured dismissively and said, "Stop overthinking it. Our dwelling doesn't need a name. Better you go back to your training."

Yu Kun pondered for a moment, "No name? Why not? A name is more than just a label; a resonant one can bring many benefits, right? Hee, isn't there a name you'd like?"

Hee Dongqing paused, catching on to Yu Kun's intent.

He quickly shook his head, "No. But if you've got something in mind, let's hear it."

Yu Kun smiled.

Resting his chin in his hand, he mused, "This place may be modest, but its inhabitants are anything but ordinary. It deserves a name! And since Hee is reluctant to choose, I'll take the liberty!"

With that, Yu Kun declared, "This humble abode is hardly a pavilion or a palace. So, it shall be a hut. My name is Yu Kun, henceforth, this place shall be known as Leviathan-roc Hut!"

Hee Dongqing blinked in surprise, then nodded in agreement.

"Leviathan-roc Hut! Excellent, what a fitting name! But even more significant than the name is the sentiment behind your earlier words."

Hee Dongqing, with fervor in his voice, echoed, "Simple though it may be, the people within are far from ordinary!"

"Your statement was succinct, yet it carries profound implications!"

Hee Dongqing sighed, "If Deputy Minister Qu Mang of Chuhan Country heard you, he'd surely commend you! Alas, such a busy man has little time for trifles."

After a moment of reflection, Hee Dongqing's demeanor turned serious, "To name the Inner Sect's residence is not just about affixing a plaque. That plaque represents our face, the reputation of an Inner Sect disciple, their very soul! I'm old, my reputation is no longer my concern. But you, you're young! If you hang the name 'Leviathan-roc Hut' here, you must uphold the weight of those words! Fail, and you'll be just another nameless soul."

Yu Kun clenched his fists, a confident smile spreading across his face. "I can hold my ground! Back then, without even a Martial Soul to my name, I boldly claimed I'd surpass all the Inner Sect disciples within a year. Now, it's merely a matter of hanging a plaque—I won't shrink away! From this moment forward, this place shall be known as Leviathan-roc Hut! Should anyone dare to challenge me, they'll be in for a lesson they won't forget!"
