C25 The First Mission.

After being briefed, Mo Fann finally got the hang of the training ground.

Loong Cangyun and Xuanyuan Changhai, seeing that he had acclimated, took their leave, promising to return after work for dinner together.

With their departure, Mo Fann commenced his training, while Wind, propped against the equipment, listlessly scrolled through his phone. Suddenly, his eyes sparkled with excitement.

"Check this out, everyone! A new mission has popped up! This is big news!"

At his call, the trainees buzzed with excitement, crowding around Wind, leaving only Mo Fann and Bingling behind.

Wind's excitement grew as he swiped through his phone.

"Don't miss this, folks! The official site just posted a Peak of Profound Level demon, and it's not an exclusive lead—other clubs could be in the running too! We're in for some real action!"

The hunters' anticipation was palpable. A demon of that caliber could fetch two to three million, not to mention the bonus from selling its parts.

They saw dollar signs in their future.

Yet, some faces were etched with concern. After a moment's hesitation, they voiced their doubts.

"But with information like this, can we really outcompete the hunters from other clubs? We've always come back empty-handed, wasting our efforts."

Hearing this, Wind's eyes gleamed mischievously as he glanced at Mo Fann, still training.

"Brother, you've got it all wrong. That was then, this is now! We've got a powerhouse in our club. With him, redemption is within reach!"

He cupped his hands around his mouth and bellowed.

"Elephant God, brother, lead the charge!"

Mo Fann shuddered at the shout.

He wasn't indifferent to the situation; he simply preferred not to jostle with the crowd. His keen senses hadn't missed a word.

He shook his head silently.

If other clubs got involved, things could get tricky, especially if the Lee family caught on...

Seeing Mo Fann's reaction, Wind refused to take no for an answer, weaving through the crowd to appeal to him directly.

"Come on, lead us! The club's senior members haven't had a good haul in ages. With the scarcity of demons around Sea Blue City and the constant competition from the Demon Slayer Division and other clubs, opportunities are few and far between! We've been tracking that demon tiger for ages, and just when it's finally within reach, we can't let it slip away!"

At the mention of the demon tiger, Mo Fann coughed awkwardly.

He quirked an eyebrow and inquired.

"Wasn't that demon tiger the Lee family's? You guys had the guts to target it?"

Wind smirked and retorted.

"If it's done stealthily, and we switch up the names when selling parts, stash the Demonic Pill for a few years—who's to say it was their tiger? The Lee family? Since when has Galaxy Club ever backed down from them?"

Despite Wind's bravado, Mo Fann saw right through him.

He chuckled.

"If you're not scared, then why bother changing names and hiding the Demonic Pill?"

Wind gave an awkward chuckle but didn't abandon his mission to convince Mo Fann to join the hunt for the demon beast.

In the club, it's an all-hands-on-deck affair when it comes to hunting; everyone gets a piece of the action. If we manage to take down that Demonic Beast, I'm looking at a cool few hundred thousand yuan at least. I'd be a fool to pass up that kind of money.

Wind said with a sycophantic smile.

"Big brother, come on, you should go! With you and Sister Bingling teaming up, that demon beast doesn't stand a chance, right?! You two feast on the main course, and we brothers will happily sip the broth. It's good for the club's camaraderie, after all!"

Bingling, tucked away in the corner, overheard the conversation.

But she simply shot a cold glance and remained silent.

Mo Fann, however, wasn't the type to put in the effort just to line someone else's pockets.

He shrugged nonchalantly.

"Why should I go with a group? I can handle it solo. Why split the money with you when I'm the one in need of cash?"

Wind's mouth hung open in disbelief.

"What... You can handle it alone?"

Bingling, who had been quietly tending to her ice blade, finally spoke up with a frosty edge to her voice.

"Didn't you pay attention to Elder Yun's introduction? Full orange glow on the Crystal Test, Peak of Earth Level—why would he stoop to join forces with you lot for a Peak of Profound Level beast?"

Wind was flustered.

"I... I must have missed that part..."

Once he recovered from the initial shock, he regained his composure.

"Well then... You could go solo, and it would be a real feather in our club's cap. Those clubs backed by the Lee and Wang families strut around like they own the place. It'd be so satisfying to beat them to the punch!"

Mo Fann considered this, his interest piqued.

With his mask, unless the Lee family deployed their top guns, they'd be none the wiser to any slip-ups.

He joined the club for one reason: to make money. If he backed down now, he'd be letting a fortune slip through his fingers.

With that in mind, he pulled out his phone and pointed at the screen.

"I haven't accepted any jobs yet. Do I just press here?"

Wind's face lit up with a cheer.

"Yes! That's the spot! Just there!"

Wind's enthusiasm wasn't born out of loyalty to the Galaxy Club; he just loved stirring the pot. Causing a little chaos for others was more thrilling to him than making money himself.

So, he was particularly thrilled with Mo Fann's decision.

"Just so you know, the job won't just vanish because you've taken it. Others can still sign up, or even form a team. Whoever lands the killing blow gets paid—and our boss is quick with the cash!"

Mo Fann nodded, took a careful look at the location details, and pocketed his phone.

"So, I can head out now?"

Wind glanced at the clock.

"Uh... the competition rules say eight hours of training per person per day... But you can make up the time after your mission... How long will you be gone?"

Mo Fann checked the time as well.

"Round trip, about half an hour? So, half an hour it is."

Wind swallowed hard.

"Man... You're the real deal... Go for it, then. We'll be here waiting to celebrate over lunch."

As he finished speaking, he remembered something and pulled out a large hemp sack.

"Swing by Elder Yun's place for your City and Hunter IDs. He's stingy, so don't expect a body bag from him. But take mine, and when you return, just cut me a slice of the hide. I could use the extra cash."
