C17 The Divine Spear

"With the channels open and the body strong, the next step is to nourish the bones for complete enhancement."

Luo Tongtian had avenged his enemies, and his body felt stronger than ever, filling him with joy. But suddenly, a sharp white line appeared silently behind him. Even though he sensed the danger at the last moment and instinctively dodged, the line still pierced his left shoulder effortlessly.

The searing pain made Luo Tongtian shudder, and he couldn't help but let out an angry roar. He grabbed the white line, intending to absorb the attacker's power. To his surprise, the line was razor-sharp and impossibly thin, making it impossible to draw any energy from it. Instead, it left deep cuts on his palm.

"Hmph, I didn't expect a young guy like you to have mastered the dark art of absorbing others' power. No wonder you're so arrogant. But now that you've been hit by my Celestial Silk, you're as good as dead."

A cold voice echoed as a man dressed in black emerged from the shadows. His face was pale and smooth, his eyes cold and calculating, exuding an unsettling chill. The Celestial Silk embedded in Luo Tongtian's body was crystal clear and deadly, with the other end firmly held in the man's hand.

The Level Five Warrior was not only skillful with his threads but also moved with incredible agility. No matter what Luo Tongtian tried, he couldn't get close. Meanwhile, the enemy's silk threads twisted and turned, gradually forming a white web that began to enclose him.

"Haha, kid, you're finished! My silk threads are one of the nine great treasures of the South. They're as sharp as any weapon. No matter how tough you are, in a moment, you'll be nothing but minced meat."

The warrior looked at Luo Tongtian, a sinister grin flashing across his face.

In the next moment, his fingers began to move rhythmically, channeling waves of force into the threads, turning them into dancing spirits. These spirits, however, were filled with a deadly aura. As they embedded into Luo Tongtian's body, they cut through his skin and flesh like the sharpest blades, carving bloody grids across him.

"Damn it, die!"

Luo Tongtian gathered all his strength, channeling it through the Vein Seal into his right arm's meridian. He unleashed a thunderous bolt the size of a fist, roaring as it shot toward the warrior who had just landed. This was the Thunder Fist at its peak, and its power was immense.

"Hexagonal Shield!"

The Level Five Warrior barely had time to dodge, not that he cared to. His eyes narrowed slightly as a faint glow appeared on his chest, eventually forming a small hexagonal shield. The shield was a pale blue, with lively runes flickering across its surface, hinting at a sacred aura within.

When the thunderous blast struck the blue shield, it unleashed a violent gust, tearing through the air. The terrifying impact caused the shield to tremble violently, leaving a deep dent where it was hit. The recoil slammed into the warrior's chest, forcing him to stagger back, blood spurting from his mouth.

Luo Tongtian's powerful strike had managed to injure the Level Five Warrior from a distance, a feat that should have filled him with pride. Yet, instead of joy, his eyes reflected disappointment and sorrow. His mighty blow had failed to free him from the silken threads binding him.

The threads controlling his life remained firmly in the warrior's grasp, and despite his severe injury, he showed no sign of letting up.

"You little brat, die!"

Enraged by Luo Tongtian's fierce attack, the Level Five Warrior manipulated the silken threads into a deadly formation, producing a chilling creak as they moved to slice toward Luo Tongtian's heart.

At this critical moment, a sharp flash of purple light flickered and vanished. The man in black froze instantly, a bloody hole appearing in the center of his forehead.

After Luo Tongtian was rescued, he naturally couldn't escape a scolding from Luo Youyou. With the enemy advancing in force, a mere third-level warrior like him going off to kill alone was incredibly risky. If his actions had provoked widespread anger, he could have easily met his end there. Fortunately, Luo Youyou intervened just in time, using the chaos to hide once more.

Although their actions caused some local disruption for the enemy, it didn't truly affect their attack plan. The shadowy figures surged forward like an unstoppable tide, swarming toward the entrance of the military base.

As they approached within about 300 yards of the base, they were halted by a suddenly illuminated white line. Any enemy that touched this line was torn apart, blood spraying everywhere, creating a gruesome scene.

"Blade Whirlwind, break the white death line!" A commanding voice rang out. Many enemies spun their curved blades, forming terrifying pale blue whirlwinds that crashed against the white line. The light on the line flickered and quickly dimmed under the concentrated assault of the blue whirlwinds, eventually shattering and disappearing from view.

This sharp white line of death, though it appeared for less than a few seconds, managed to take down over a hundred enemies. More importantly, it significantly slowed their advance and dampened their fighting spirit.

Once past the white line, the shadows' momentum noticeably decreased. They began sending out advance units to probe ahead, hoping to reduce their casualties. Unfortunately, against a well-prepared military base, these tactics couldn't shield them from the base's defensive strikes.

The scouts cautiously assessed the safety of the road ahead, while the main force followed closely behind. An area previously deemed safe suddenly erupted with lethal intent. Rows of dark spears shot skyward, piercing the dense enemy ranks. As a fierce wind swept through, massive gray hammers appeared in the sky, relentlessly smashing the foes to pieces.

"Sky-Shaking Spear, destroy all in its path!"

After suffering repeated heavy blows, the bandits finally sent out their true powerhouse. A figure clad in black, radiating lethal intent, soared into the air. With hands glowing a fierce purple, he unleashed a spear nine feet long, driving it into the open ground before the military base with a thunderous crash.

A continuous series of thunderous booms echoed, sending waves of circular shockwaves rippling outward. Wherever they reached, the ground's surface was upheaved, and the chaotic air was torn apart. The earth spikes shattered, the wind hammers dissipated, and the many defenses in front of the military base were triggered one by one by this force.

This strike from the formidable warrior was unprecedented in its power, clearing a path to the base for the bandits below. He landed on the ground, drew his massive spear, and led the charge.

Whoosh!

A giant arrow, over six feet long and as thick as a child's arm, whistled through the air and slammed into the warrior's chest, obliterating his upper body. Immediately, more giant arrows followed, bursting through the air with tremendous force, erupting into clouds of blood among the enemies.

Both sides fiercely contested the open ground in front of the military base. Just as the General's forces regained the upper hand, a strange, cold wind stirred in the sky. A ghastly green cloud, hidden by the night, drifted toward the military base.

Inside the base, a sharp-eyed crossbowman swiveled his weapon and launched a massive bolt toward the ominous cloud.

Under the forceful gusts, the dark clouds dispersed, revealing a fist-sized, glowing green orb within, brimming with immense destructive power.

As a massive arrow struck the orb, a howling gale erupted, spreading a destructive light sphere with a diameter of over 300 feet. Within it, terrifying forces like explosive lightning and fiery winds surged, accompanied by radiant dragons and serpentine water forms.

The fierce winds roared, and shockwaves rolled, turning all trees and rocks touched by the destructive light into ash. The open ground in front of the military base was blasted into a bottomless pit, with thick black smoke rising from within.

A massive gap, several dozen feet wide, was blown open at the entrance of the military base, from which came piercing screams. Seizing the opportunity, the bandits surged into the base like a tidal wave.

"These enemies are truly despicable, using something as ruthless as a Thunder Orb," Luo Youyou remarked, a flash of anger crossing her face.

"Daring to openly use a Thunder Orb to attack a military base—it's unlikely a mere band of outlaws would have such audacity. It's almost certain that the city governor's office is behind this," Luo Tongtian said, raising his Photoelectric Axe, ready for battle.

"Don't rush. Since the enemy dares to barge in so openly, I suspect they have more tricks up their sleeve. We'd better wait and see how things unfold," said Luo Youyou, stopping him in his tracks.
