C2 Extraction System

“Should I just give up?” Su Yi muttered under his breath.

His heart was in turmoil.

If he did choose to give up, then he would automatically be expelled from the academy. He might as well kiss his chances of becoming a martial arts warrior goodbye.

But then again, given the pathetic state of his body and his painful lack of cultivation, he likely wouldn’t even survive a minute inside the Demon Suppressing Tower.

As he was pondering this, a mosquito flew toward him and kept buzzing near his ear. The annoying sound grated on his already fraying nerves.

Without thinking, he reached over and slapped his hands together in one swift motion, smashing the mosquito to death.

The next thing he knew, he heard an automated voice speaking inside his head.

“Extraction system is successfully installed. Host has touched an ordinary mosquito and extracted 100 units of vitality value. Host has successfully broken through Vitality Stage Level 1.”

A faint subtext then appeared in his vision, reading, “Note: Host can only extract vitality value for a specific species once.”

Extraction system?

Su Yi immediately grew excited.

After being stuck for half a year, he finally got access to the system!

The next thing he knew, he could feel a burning sensation coursing through his body, as if his very blood was boiling in his veins.

It was the Vitality waking up inside him. He wasn’t imagining it, he had truly broken through to the first Vitality Stage!

As the boiling feeling settled down, Su Yi looked at his hands and clenched them into tight fists. He could already feel the power flowing to the tips of his fingers.

He was a martial artist at last!

He couldn’t help but smile in triumph.

The Vitality Stages consisted of ten levels, and each addition of 100 units to the vitality value would elevate the warrior to the next level.

In that sense, a martial artist with Vitality Stage Level 1 would have 100 kg of Power Value, while one who was on Vitality Stage Level 2 would have 200 kg, and so on.

Talent stars, on the other hand, indicated the speed with which a warrior cultivated his power. More stars meant greater speed.

The highest possible talent attainment in Blue Star was 10 stars, but the highest ever recorded in Origin City was only 8 stars.

Su Yi only had 1 star himself.

But he had the system now.

As long as he came into contact with animals, he would be able to extract their abilities and increase his cultivation level.

With proper diligence, he might even cultivate faster than the so-called prodigies in the academy.

“What the heck is wrong with Su Yi?” Cao Qinglang muttered under his friend as he peered at the other boy.

The other students took that as their cue and proceeded to jeer at Su Yi again.

“You shouldn’t push him, Mr. Lin. Su Yi is not a martial artist. He wouldn’t dare to enter the Demon Suppressing Tower!”

The class monitor, Chen Hao, chose that moment to speak up.

"Everyone, pipe down! Su Yi may be ordinary, but I’m sure he can take a good beating, at the very least. He just needs to endure it for half an hour, and he can stay in the academy."

It was followed by a brief and confused pause, then everyone burst out laughing.

The students took a moment to process Chen Hao’s words, but they ultimately recognized that he was also mocking Su Yi.

The Demon Suppressing Tower was no place for people without cultivation. Only pain and torture awaited them there.

How could the weak and useless Su Yi possibly last thirty minutes with Ferocious Beasts roaming around, looking for prey to attack?

He was no longer the piece of trash these bullies used to know.

Su Yi raised his head, his eyes darkening with determination as he opened his mouth and said:

“Mr. Lin, I will enter the Demon Suppressing Tower!”

The tests had come and gone. Although he had finally broken through Vitality Stage Level 1, it was too late to be officially acknowledged.

If he didn’t accept the challenge that was the Demon Suppressing Tower, he would definitely be expelled from the academy.

The spatial plane had three floors in total, and the Ferocious Beasts that lingered on each floor were ranked accordingly.

The first floor was mostly filled with beasts with Vitality Stage Level 1, while the strongest, of Vitality Stage Level 5, waited on the third floor.

Su Yi just needed to stay on the first floor and hold his ground for thirty minutes.
