C5 Attack.!
A sharp sound suddenly roused everyone in the living room, and it was only then that they realized the object was merely a flower vase.
Of course, a flower vase wasn't ordinarily cause for alarm, but this one had struck Third Master Luo!
The sight of Third Master Luo on the floor, his head bleeding, sent a wave of shock through the room. Instinctively, all eyes turned toward the second floor from whence the vase had come.
Amid the collective stare, a man with a ghostly pale complexion, bare-chested and clad only in shorts, descended the stairs barefoot.
"Who are you?"
The Luo family's bodyguards tensed, ready for confrontation.
The Wang family members, however, recognized the man immediately. It was Pei Junlin, Wang Ziqiong's good-for-nothing husband.
Aside from his handsome appearance, he was lacking in every other respect. Moreover, he was notoriously arrogant. Within the Wang family, it was likely that no one held him in high regard, with the possible exception of Wang Ziqiong.
Why had he chosen this moment to make an appearance?
Wang Ziqiong, eyeing Pei Junlin's disheveled appearance and pallid face, couldn't contain her disdain. "Why aren't you upstairs where you belong? What are you doing down here? Get back up there, now!"
Pei Junlin continued his descent, seemingly oblivious to her commands. His firm footsteps echoed in the quiet of the living room.
At last, Pei Junlin came to stand beside Wang Ziqiong. His head had been bowed the entire time, concealing from view his pitch-black eyes that now swirled with a devilish red—a maelstrom of madness and curse.
Pei Junlin's mood was foul, for his cultivation had been disrupted by these fools!
He had finally found a Pure Yin Body to assist in his practice, and his strength was returning swiftly. He had already perfectly broken through the first level of the Nine-cycle Nether Arts. He would not tolerate any disturbances, nor did he wish to engage with anyone.
Yet, with his powerful Divine Sense, he was acutely aware of every move within the villa. He had intended to stay out of it, but when he saw that Wang Ziqiong was in danger of being taken away, he could no longer stand idly by.
Since Wang Ziqiong had surrendered her first night and her unique Pure Yin Body to him the previous evening, Pei Junlin had come to regard her unequivocally as his woman. As an Asura General, Pei Junlin would not stand for any affront to his lady.
"Son of a bitch, you're dead meat!" A roar, laced with venom and murderous intent, erupted suddenly. Third Master Luo, previously sprawled on the ground, had risen with a burst of speed that defied belief, launching a vicious punch at Pei Junlin's face.
The ferocity of his attack made it clear he was a seasoned fighter, his cultivation level having reached the formidable stage of Clear Force.
"Watch out!" Wang Ziqiong's voice, tinged with concern, cut through the air. The onlookers mostly wore smirks of malicious glee.
Pei Junlin was playing with fire. How could he provoke Third Master Luo with such impunity?
But in an instant, the smug expressions around them froze, eyes bulging in disbelief. Third Master Luo, who had been barreling towards Pei Junlin, was now retreating, crashing into a wall meters away. He collapsed amidst a heap of shattered furniture, coughing up blood and slipping into unconsciousness.
The sight of his crimson blood left everyone in shock, with some of the more faint-hearted Wang family members screaming in terror.
"Third Master Luo!"
"Damn you, you're asking for it!"
The Luo family's bodyguards snapped to attention. The two closest to Pei Junlin were towering, muscular men, each standing at 1.8 meters. Overcome with rage, they lunged at Pei Junlin.
Their fists were powerhouses in their own right.
These men were Third Master Luo's personal guards, former champions of the underground boxing world, veterans of countless deadly missions. Each had taken at least ten lives.
In Qingzhou City's underworld, they were feared even more than Third Master Luo—they were the true enforcers.
As their fists, brimming with brute force and malice, neared Pei Junlin, their faces twisted into savage grins.
They were confident that just one punch would take him down.
Pei Junlin, who had been keeping his gaze lowered, finally lifted his head with a smirk. His once scarlet, crazed eyes had reverted to black. To the astonishment of the two bodyguards, Pei Junlin effortlessly caught their fists in his grasp.
"You call that strength? Save yourselves the embarrassment next time," Pei Junlin said with a grin. Before his words even faded, the bodyguards screamed in agony. Their arms were shredded, bones splintering inch by inch as if struck by an immense force.
The spectacle left everyone in the living room petrified, their eyes wide with disbelief. They had never imagined the Pei Junlin they once scorned could wield such fearsome power.
Pei Junlin paid no mind to their thoughts. Having snapped the arms of the two bodyguards, he lunged at the Luo family's other protectors like a wolf among sheep.
Screams echoed nonstop. Where Pei Junlin passed, the Luo family's bodyguards all collapsed, limbs broken and twisted.
Within a mere minute, not one person remained standing. The living room was a cacophony of agony.
Turning to face the Wang family, who were paralyzed with fear, the relatives of the Wangs collapsed to the ground, faces ashen.
Off to the side, Wang Haishan and Qin Yan, who had always looked down on him with cold disdain and mockery, shook uncontrollably, unable to meet his gaze.
In the vast living room, only two women seemed to hold their composure—Wang Ziqiong and Wang Ziyu. Despite their pallor, they were far from the disarray of the others, particularly Wang Ziqiong, whose expression was a tangle of emotions.
She was struck by the realization that she might never have truly known her husband. Was his previous demeanor just a facade? Was this ruthless, unfeeling man his true self?
Wang Ziqiong was at a loss.
In that moment, Pei Junlin approached Third Master Luo, sprawled in a corner.
Hearts raced, everyone bracing themselves, uncertain of Pei Junlin's next move.
But in the blink of an eye, everyone's eyes popped wide open again.
