C1 Rebirth Doomsday Plan
A dark haze of smoke enveloped the earth, shrouding it like a thick fog.
Across H Country, black smoke dominated the skies.
Bullets and artillery had ravaged J City, already teetering on the brink of despair, leaving it in ruins.
"Alert, Abnormal Spot No. 1 has been breached. A massive swarm of Zerg is advancing."
"Alert! The sea is churning, it's the S-class mutated beast! It's made landfall!"
"Why haven't the reinforcements arrived? What on earth are they doing?"
In the shadowy abyss, innumerable menacing mutated beasts surged forth from the earth.
Tumultuous waves beneath the sea's surface devoured figure after figure in their wake.
The year 2033 marked the tenth year of the apocalypse.
This was the downfall of J City.
"Everyone, retreat now! I'll cover you!"
Inside the rocking train carriage, Qin Feng came to with a raspy cry.
His colleague, Wang Gang, replied with concern, "Qin Feng, what's the matter?"
Qin Feng's eyes snapped open as he sprang to his feet, his post-apocalyptic instincts instantly kicking him into combat readiness.
Then his head collided with the carriage ceiling.
Clutching his throbbing head, Qin Feng scanned the environment.
The dimly lit carriage was crammed with rows of cargo, and Wang Gang's bewildered face stared back at him.
"Where am I?"
Confusion washed over Qin Feng. Instinctively, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a weathered old cell phone.
The date on the screen read September 15th, 2023.
"I've been reborn, two months before the apocalypse began!"
The phone slipped from his grasp, clattering onto the carriage floor.
Qin Feng stood, lost in thought, his mind racing.
On October 17th, 2023, a disaster of unprecedented scale had engulfed the globe.
It precipitated the great collapse of human civilization.
The once pristine home of humanity had become an arena of death and slaughter.
The gruesome tableau of carnage was set to engulf every corner of Blue Star.
Qin Feng, a Level Four superpowered individual, had fought through the apocalypse.
To safeguard his nation, he had enlisted with the Dragon Shield Bureau, leading Team A in a relentless defense of the country's southern coastline.
They had slain a multitude of monsters! Yet, when faced with the Black Tortoise, a creature of S-class battle strength, they were utterly defeated and annihilated.
"Ow, that hurts!" Qin Feng winced as a sharp pain throbbed in his head, snapping him back to reality. He clutched his forehead, feeling helpless.
"Are you okay?" Wang Gang, seated in the driver's seat, was taken aback by Qin Feng's pained expression.
Qin Feng had merely dozed off while on a delivery run. How had he woken up to such distress?
"I'm fine," Qin Feng reassured, his voice steadying. He lowered his hands and gazed at the plump face before him, feeling both a sense of fondness and strangeness.
If his memory served him right, Wang Gang was supposed to have perished in the eighth year of the apocalypse, at the hands of a two-horned Snakeman.
Reuniting with an old friend should have been a moment of elation, but excitement was notably absent from Qin Feng's gaunt face. A decade of relentless killing had taught him to master his emotions.
"I'm relieved to hear that," Wang Gang replied, not dwelling on it. He assumed Qin Feng had suffered through a bad dream. With that, he turned the ignition key and the van rumbled to life.
Qin Feng rested his head against the window, his gaze lost in the streetscape. The pristine streets, the bustling crowds—it was a scene of beauty he hadn't witnessed in ten years.
Yet, Qin Feng couldn't muster a smile. He knew all too well the trials that lay ahead for this city.
In the quiet, Qin Feng's eyes fell to his hands. They were pale, unscarred by battle—clumsy and vulnerable. He flexed his limbs but couldn't sense the slightest trace of power coursing through his veins.
"It looks like my rebirth has reset everything to square one," he mused with a wry smile, though his eyes blazed with a mix of sorrow and rage.
In the power-driven wasteland of the apocalypse, Qin Feng had been a formidable Level Four superpowered individual, a force to be reckoned with even within the ranks of the Dragon Shield Bureau.
But now, he was nothing more than an ordinary man, reborn with a heart full of vengeance.
"In my past life, I gave my all for this world, only to be repaid with despicable schemes and betrayal."
Qin Feng would never forget how he was deceived by those schemers while leading Team A in a fierce, blood-soaked battle—a deception that ultimately contributed to the city's downfall.
"This time, I refuse to make the same mistakes. I'm going to live life on my own terms, for myself!" he whispered, his gaze growing colder and more resolute. "And I'll ensure that those who betrayed me will pay dearly."
Of course, achieving all this was far from simple.
Qin Feng's mind raced, rapidly piecing together the beginnings of a plan. "First, I need supplies and a safe haven. It would be best to find a high-altitude location to escape the sudden floods that mark the early stages of the apocalypse."
"Next, I must reach out to him—the only one capable of assembling an elite force within two months, one strong enough to withstand the apocalyptic calamities."
His train of thought was abruptly derailed by a sharp brake.
Wang Gang pulled the vehicle to the roadside and turned to him, "Snap out of it. We've arrived. Let's get out and start unloading."
Qin Feng blinked in surprise, then remembered his past life's identity. He was a delivery man for Longhua Food Company.
Looking through the window, Qin Feng spotted a prominent billboard: Loving Heart Supermarket. To the uninformed, the supermarket's owner might seem benevolent. But those in the know would never make that mistake.
The supermarket's owner, known as Boss Loong, always made them anxious during deliveries.
Before they could exit the vehicle, a voice bellowed, "You two slackers! Weren't you supposed to be here by five? It's already half-past. How do you plan to compensate for my losses?"
Wang Gang paused, then looked up to see a man adorned with a gold chain striding toward them, fury etched on his face.
Quick to react, Wang Gang approached with a grin and offered a pack of cigarettes. "Boss Loong, have a smoke first. We hit a traffic jam—please, let it slide."
"Where's my merchandise? If you've messed with my business, I'll have one of your arms!" Boss Loong sneered at the cigarette brand with contempt.
"Sorry, we need to get these goods moving right away." Despite having been reprimanded, Wang Gang maintained a respectful demeanor towards Boss Loong, persistently nudging Qin Feng to pick up the pace.
Qin Feng, however, neither made a move to handle the merchandise nor offered Boss Loong any semblance of respect. His mind was preoccupied with the Apocalypse Survival Plan.
Time was of the essence. The apocalypse's first critical juncture was a mere two months away, and the list of preparations was overwhelming.
Boss Loong caught this exchange and, visibly irritated, strode over to Qin Feng and shoved him on the shoulder. "Are you deaf? If you don't start unloading now, I'll refuse the whole shipment."
"I'm not deaf; there's no need to yell," Qin Feng retorted, irked at being snapped out of his thoughts. He shot Boss Loong a frosty look.
That look seemed to challenge Boss Loong, who, taking offense, rolled up his sleeves and confronted him. "You're giving me that look? You're just a delivery guy, yet you've got quite the nerve."
Wang Gang tried to signal Qin Feng with his eyes to back down, but Qin Feng ignored him.
Facing Boss Loong, Qin Feng retorted, "I might not be powerful, but you're not as impressive as you think. If you don't want the goods, that's fine by me. I'm in the market for supplies myself."
"You dare repeat that?" Boss Loong was taken aback.
He had bullied Qin Feng before, and each time Qin Feng had meekly submitted. But today was different; Qin Feng was standing up to him.
"I could say it several times over. The truth is, your comfortable life is all thanks to cozying up to that high-ranking female official," Qin Feng stated flatly.
Wang Gang's face blanched at the remark, and he quickly interjected, "Boss Loong, please, let's not get heated."
"Shut up, you damn fatty, and get out of my way!" Boss Loong shoved Wang Gang aside, his face turning a deep shade of red. Clenching his teeth, he demanded, "What did you just say?"
Qin Feng replied with composure, "Was I mistaken?"
He wasn't wrong, of course. The so-called secret was common knowledge to everyone on the street.
Naturally, Boss Loong wouldn't see it that way.
Fuming, he swung a punch at Qin Feng's temple.
Boss Loong, a street thug, excelled in brawling.
His punch could knock out a cow.
"No, don't!" Wang Gang, terrified, clutched his eyes shut, unable to watch.
He was convinced Qin Feng would sustain serious injuries and even began to ponder which nearby clinic was closest.
But what happened next caught everyone off guard.
Mid-swing, Boss Loong doubled over in agony, clutching his groin. He dropped to his knees, howling in pain.
Qin Feng, maintaining his kicking stance, sneered, "Never thought to protect your groin in a fight? Better watch it next time. How will you charm those high-ranking ladies without your manhood?"
"Get in the truck. He's done with the stuff inside, so it's all mine now!"
Without delay, Qin Feng shifted his attention to the shivering Wang Gang, shoving him into the truck's cabin and driving off.
Gripping the steering wheel, Qin Feng was inexplicably thrilled.
In under two hours since his rebirth, he had already secured his first haul of supplies.
But of course, it was hardly sufficient.
So Qin Feng headed straight for the company's storage room. That was his real target.
