C11 Close the Door

Qin Feng's heart raced wildly. Despite his mental preparation, the emergence of so many monsters from the shadows took him by surprise.

"They must be beastmen, and they move in packs," he thought to himself.

As Qin Feng's gaze darted around, contemplating his next move, another startled cry rang out.

It came from the man at the door.

While the monsters' eyes had yet to materialize from the darkness, the man managed to keep his composure and pushed the door with all his might.

But as the night unveiled a sea of blood-red eyes, his mind went blank. His thoughts froze, and even the act of closing the door halted for a crucial second.

That single second of hesitation gave the monsters a perfect chance to strike.

Before the onlookers' eyes, a creature with a humanoid shape but disproportionate limbs sprang forth like lightning. In just a moment, it had leaped through the door gap.

Illuminated by the banquet hall's light, the creature's features became clear.

It was a Ratman.

With flat, round ears and a furry head, its blood-red eyes glinted with a ferocity and madness surpassing any species from Blue Star.

The Ratman's nose was long and prominent, with two white tusks jutting out beneath it. Its wide mouth stretched near its ears, displaying an array of sharp teeth, and a crimson tongue licked at the remnants of flesh at its mouth's corner.

Standing about as tall as a 12 or 13-year-old child, it was cloaked in yellowing fur that made it appear somewhat bloated. Its limbs were short but incredibly muscular, and eerily, it stood upright on two legs, surveying the banquet hall crowd with an unnerving level gaze.

The man by the door, now face to face with the creature, was paralyzed with fear, his hands and feet trembling uncontrollably.

His response was met with the Ratman's swift lunge of its front claw.

Short yet robust, the creature's claw struck with lightning speed, instantly reaching for the man's chest.

"Move!" The terrified crowd could only scream, but Qin Feng was quick to shout a warning.

Tragically, they were too far apart, and the man, paralyzed by fear from the scene outside, was rooted to the spot.

In that split second of hesitation, the monster's dark, hardened claws closed in on the man's chest.

Claw marks emerged, revealing a gash deep enough to expose bone.

His suit was in tatters, and his muscles, though they appeared robust, were no match for the vicious swipe, his skin tearing open.

The Ratman, invigorated by the scent of human blood, swung its stubby claws with glee, hopping and skipping in delight. It even stuck its bloodied claws into its mouth, its crimson tongue greedily lapping up the blood.

The bloodlust in its eyes deepened.

The wounded man's screams of agony triggered a fresh wave of terror. Everyone had seen the Ratman's ghastly form and were petrified.

The Ratman leapt onto the man, effortlessly biting through his neck in one go!

The blood spray sent shivers down everyone's spine.

The man's neck was gushing blood, his body slammed to the floor. The Ratman bore down on his abdomen, its filthy mouth revealing razor-sharp teeth that repeatedly sank into his neck. Flesh scattered, blood splattered, staining the floor crimson!

Whether it was Young Master Lu, the haughty Aunt Wang, or Zhong Yanan cowering among the crowd, the horrific sight struck terror into their hearts, eliciting the most fearful cries of their lives.

The banquet hall descended into pandemonium. People were desperately backing away, their screams echoing with dread.

Qin Feng, however, roared without a trace of fear.

He shoved through the crowd, sprinting like a leopard. The unsightly stick in his hand transformed into a blade, an arc of death aimed at the monster's chest.

The Dragon Bone, a mere stick in its dormant state, became lethal once it absorbed the Source Qi from the air, radiating a sinister glow pulsating with power.

The Dragon Bone's tip was razor-sharp, slicing effortlessly through the Ratman's chest.

A second gush of blood erupted, splattering against the door like a cascade, emitting a putrid odor.

To their astonishment, the creature's blood was a deep, dark red, thick and vile, reeking enough to turn stomachs. Within it, a barely perceptible streak of green lurked.

After impaling the Ratman with the Dragon Bone, Qin Feng withdrew his weapon and channeled all his energy into his legs, booting the Ratman deep into the fog.

Retreating, Qin Feng's voice rasped out a low growl, "Gang, shut the door!"

"I'm on it!" Wang Gang responded, his voice quivering.

Despite his reply, Wang Gang hesitated, not immediately dashing to close the door—fear had him in its grip.

The first beast lay lifeless, yet swiftly, a second emerged.

Without a moment's pause, Qin Feng lifted the Dragon Bone and took precise aim, striking the Ratman squarely in its grotesque forehead. The force sent the creature hurtling away.

With a steely gaze and decisive movements, Qin Feng wielded the unassuming staff with lethal efficiency, dispatching two Ratmen into the fog's embrace since the onset of the attack.

"Watch out!" Wang Gang shouted.

His warning came just as another Ratman sprang from the side, aiming for Qin Feng's neck.

The beast's approach was perfectly angled in Qin Feng's blind spot.

Though unseen, the stench betrayed the monster's position, allowing Qin Feng to pinpoint it in a flash.

The Dragon Bone, like a dagger, found its mark in the monster's chest at an astonishing angle.

The third Ratman's ribs were no match for the piercing Dragon Bone.

Qin Feng's forehead veins throbbed as the third Ratman quickly succumbed to his weapon. In the heat of battle, he bellowed again, "Don't just stand there, come help!"
