C2 How Could There be Such an Idiotic Thief?

At two in the afternoon, the warehouse office of Longhua Food Company was a picture of tranquility. A balding middle-aged man lounged on a recliner, legs crossed, savoring the calm. He was Guan Wei, the director in charge of logistics.

As Guan Wei pondered which nightclub to unwind at after clocking out, the office door suddenly flew open with a kick. A lean figure swiftly materialized before him.

"Who's there?" Guan Wei startled, initially mistaking the intrusion for a surprise inspection by his superiors. It wasn't until he leapt to his feet that he recognized the intruder as Qin Feng, the logistics department's most unremarkable employee.

"Why didn't you knock before entering? Haven't you learned any manners?" Guan Wei's relief was overshadowed by his darkening scowl as he berated Qin Feng. "You nearly gave me a heart attack, you know?"

"I need to discuss something with you," Qin Feng stated, his usual deference absent.

Without further ado, he seized paper and pen from the desk and began listing supplies.

"What on earth are you doing?" Guan Wei's bewilderment deepened, his expression souring. "You have no right to handle my office supplies! Ever heard of respecting your superiors?"

Qin Feng remained silent, focused on his list. Only when he finished did he present it to Guan Wei. "Here are the items I need. You have two hours to get the workers to load them up."

Guan Wei, momentarily dumbfounded, glanced at the list. It was an assortment of essentials: chocolate, compressed biscuits, canned beef, scissors, bandages, toilet paper, even a generator.

The absurdity of the request set Guan Wei off. He slammed his hand on the desk, his voice dripping with contempt. "Who do you think you are to give me orders? How am I supposed to justify these supplies to management?"

Qin Feng met Guan Wei's fury with a cool gaze. Once the tirade subsided, he asked evenly, "Did you report to the higher-ups when you were pilfering company assets?"

"What did you say?" Guan Wei's voice shot up in disbelief.

Staring at Qin Feng's impassive face, Guan Wei was a mix of shock and rage.

How could Qin Feng dare to address him with such insolence?

And how on earth did Qin Feng find out about his covert siphoning of company assets?

Unfazed, Qin Feng pressed on, "What I'm asking for pales in comparison to the assets you've pilfered from the company over the years."

"Watch your tone, Qin Feng. Are you threatening me?"

Overwhelmed with shock, Guan Wei's roar was a thin veil over his panic. "You got any proof? You think I won't fire you on the spot?"

"You're welcome to fire me, just like you did with the pregnant worker last month."

Qin Feng remained composed as he stepped closer and revealed, "That child she's carrying? It's yours. I've heard her family is scouring the globe for the father."

"Where did you get such information?" Guan Wei's voice trembled, and he slumped into his chair, sweating.

He was at a loss as to how Qin Feng had come to know these secrets.

But Qin Feng, as if peering into Guan Wei's soul, stated icily, "I also know that once your wife gets wind of your infidelity, a divorce will be inevitable. You'll be left without your house, your car, and all the savings you've amassed over the years!"

As a man reborn, Qin Feng was privy to Guan Wei's impending disgrace.

In a week's time, the pregnant worker would arrive with her family to raise hell.

Guan Wei's wife would be there, ready to expose his years of deceit before the entire staff.

The harsh logistics manager would not only lose his job but also face a substantial claim for damages.

That, however, was a scene set for a week hence.

For now, Guan Wei still had the clout to assist Qin Feng with moving the supplies.

After absorbing Qin Feng's words, Guan Wei's face turned ashen.

Following a prolonged silence, he forced a hollow laugh, "I'll comply with your request. In two hours, the supplies will be loaded up. But you must assure me, these revelations go no further."

"Better get moving—you've got an hour and fifty minutes left," Qin Feng said, glancing down at his watch with a detached urgency as he nudged the director to act.

Two hours later, Qin Feng's wish was fulfilled; he drove off in an oversized supply truck brimming with goods, enough to meet an adult's needs for two decades.

Wang Gang, sitting in the passenger seat, was utterly bewildered. He had no clue about the specifics of Qin Feng's strong-arming of the director. All he knew was that in under ten minutes of Qin Feng stepping into the office, the logistics director, notorious for treating his subordinates like dirt, had inexplicably transformed.

Still, Wang Gang was deeply concerned. Qin Feng had made off with a massive haul. If the theft was discovered, prison was a certainty for Qin Feng.

"What's the plan with all this stuff?" Wang Gang finally ventured to ask.

Qin Feng remained silent, then said, "Gang, come with me to a place."

"Where to?" Wang Gang inquired, his confusion mounting.

"Clouds Peak, Villa 301."

Wang Gang's confusion deepened. He stroked his plump chin, "Why there? That's a swanky neighborhood for the wealthy."

"Stop asking questions. You've always dreamed of living in a mansion, right? Consider your wish granted," Qin Feng replied, without offering any further explanation. Not that Wang Gang would have believed him anyway.

Half an hour later, they arrived at a grand mansion at Clouds Peak. Qin Feng stepped out of the truck and prodded the still-dazed Wang Gang, "Come on, get out and help me. We need to move all these goods into the villa's basement."

"How can I possibly move all this by myself? And we don't even have the keys to the place," Wang Gang protested, his eyes wide as he gazed at the mansion's imposing gates. He was still mumbling when he saw Qin Feng stride confidently towards the villa's entrance. Qin Feng bent down, reached under a doormat, and retrieved a set of keys.

The mansion's doors swung open with ease, revealing a hall so opulent it could have been a palace. Wang Gang was left speechless.

Qin Feng moved through the space as if he were in his own home, casually gesturing toward the left side of the living room. "Over there is the basement entrance. Take your time moving the goods. I'll give you a week—is that sufficient?"

Wang Gang remained silent, stepping out of the car as if in a trance. He shuffled into the villa's living room, shaking, and asked, "How did you know where the homeowner keeps the key? Are you acquainted with the villa's owner?"

"Of course!" Qin Feng confidently operated the water dispenser, filling two cups with hot water for himself and Wang Gang. He took his time settling into the leather sofa, legs crossed, and began, "Actually, the villa's owner is someone you're familiar with. Her name is Zhong Yanan; she's the Vice President of Longhua Food Company."

Qin Feng's words were cut short as Wang Gang, overcome with fear, dropped his cup, his chubby cheeks quivering. "Have you lost your mind? Sneaking off with the company's goods and hauling them to the President's private villa—what kind of foolhardy thief are you?"
