C20 What Do You Want?

Upon hearing Wang Gang and Zhong Yanan's words, Lu Shaojie, steeped in sorrow, whirled around with a cold fury. "You've been watching us the whole time. If you'd stepped in sooner, my father might still be alive."

"What are you implying?" Wang Gang was taken aback, not expecting to be on the receiving end of Lu Shaojie's reproach. Anger surged within him, but before he could lash out, Zhong Yanan seized his arm. "Enough bickering. This place isn't safe."

Despite the three monsters lying dead in pools of blood, the resort was teeming with more of them. Lingering even a second longer spelled greater peril for them all.

Wang Gang was acutely aware of the danger, so he bit back his anger and addressed Lu Shaojie, "We can't afford to dawdle. You either come with us or find somewhere to hide." With that, he turned on his heel and strode off, pulling Zhong Yanan along.

Lu Shaojie's heart skipped a beat. He glanced down at the lifeless body on the ground, then peered into the dense fog behind him. Overcome with panic, he quickly caught up to Wang Gang and the others.

Entering the equipment room, Lu Shaojie was met with the sight of Qin Feng leaning casually against the window sill.

"Why are you here?" he demanded, his voice rigid with hostility. His anger towards Qin Feng for the disruption at the engagement party hadn't subsided, coloring his tone with animosity.

Zhong Yanan interjected, "Qin Feng discovered this place. He's the one who saved me just now."

Despite her dissatisfaction with Qin Feng's aloofness, Zhong Yanan couldn't deny that without his intervention, she wouldn't be alive. She owed him her thanks.

"Oh, how impressive," Lu Shaojie sneered upon hearing this, his expression growing stormier. He shot Qin Feng a brief, icy look.

Qin Feng had anticipated as much; not everyone was gracious in the aftermath of rescue. For Lu Shaojie, it was Zhong Yanan who was his savior, not Qin Feng.

Tonight was supposed to be a joyous occasion for Lu Shaojie, the night he would get engaged to Zhong Yanan. Instead, it was a disaster. Seething with rage and unable to find an outlet, he directed all his fury at Qin Feng.

Qin Feng paid no mind to Lu Shaojie's anger. He simply reminded Wang Gang to secure the door before retreating to a corner to gather his strength.

But before he could settle in, Lu Shaojie's icy voice cut through the air. "Hold on. I need to ask you something."

"What's on your mind?" Qin Feng responded, his tone detached.

"Why didn't you warn us or call the police if you knew what was going to happen here?" Lu Shaojie demanded, his fists balled in anger.

Qin Feng explained, "There are two reasons. First, no one would have believed me. Second, if the military got wind of the Abnormal Spot too soon, they would have taken over, and I would've lost my chance to get in."

"What are you saying?" Lu Shaojie's eyes bulged with fury. "Are these your excuses for keeping silent? Do you realize how many people your secrecy has killed?"

"The people were not killed by me. You saw the monster responsible," Qin Feng said, leaning casually against the wall, his eyes half-closed. "Moreover, I'm not obligated to warn you. If you're so keen on revenge, go ahead and charge outside. I won't hold you back."

"You're a dead man," Lu Shaojie spat.

But he wasn't foolish enough to make a break for it. His unexpressed anger only fueled his rage further.

Lu Shaojie held Qin Feng responsible for everything: the deaths of his loved ones and the engagement ceremony that never happened.

So, he was truly intent on confronting Qin Feng.

"Are you certain you want to take me on?" Qin Feng asked coolly.

Just two hours earlier, Qin Feng had single-handedly slain numerous Devil Eye Ratmen. Everyone had seen his prowess.

If Qin Feng could dispatch monsters without a second thought, he could just as easily deal with Lu Shaojie.

Despite Lu Shaojie's burning desire to kill Qin Feng, when he heard Qin Feng's words, he was left frozen in place, as if doused with a bucket of ice water.

Lu Shaojie lacked the courage to follow through. Anger was all he could muster.

With a mocking smile, Qin Feng offered some advice, "Here's a tip for you. From this moment on, don't worry about anything. Just stay put. Once the sun comes up, the fog will clear, and you'll be free to go."

That was the extent of Qin Feng's willingness to assist a stranger. He wasn't one to harm others, nor did he go out of his way to help. It was a mark of his generosity that he even bothered to speak to Lu Shaojie.

Qin Feng then closed his eyes, settling into stillness.

Capturing Source Qi was an opportunity not to be missed. Rather than squander his energy on petty disputes, Qin Feng focused on refining the Source Qi.

With the break of dawn, the Source Qi would scatter in the sunlight, retreating back into the earth, not to surface again for some time.

Silence enveloped the equipment room once more.

Qin Feng relished the peace, immersing himself in the process of capturing and refining the Source Qi. Time slipped by, and with each passing moment, he felt the Source Qi accumulating within him.

Though the quantity of Source Qi wasn't sufficient to transform him into a true superpowered individual, his body had significantly improved from just a few hours earlier.

Meanwhile, Wang Gang and Zhong Yanan each found solace against the wall, eyes closed, conserving their strength.

Lu Shaojie, now quieter, kept a watchful eye on Qin Feng.

To him, Qin Feng was nothing short of a scoundrel.

Qin Feng's concealment of the Abnormal Spot had led to many deaths. He had even burst into the banquet hall, disrupting Lu Shaojie and Zhong Yanan's engagement ceremony.

Yet, Lu Shaojie couldn't fathom the source of Qin Feng's formidable power. His gaze shifted to the stick by Qin Feng's side. Ever since Qin Feng had arrived, he had never parted with that unsightly stick. Could it be the key to his power?

A whirlwind of thoughts raced through Lu Shaojie's mind, culminating in a daring scheme.

Amidst the oppressive silence, Lu Shaojie inched forward, stealthily extending his hand toward the Dragon Bone.

Lu Shaojie observed Qin Feng, who had his eyes shut and was leaning motionless against the wall. He naturally assumed Qin Feng was asleep.

Lu Shaojie believed that with swift action, he could surely grab the unsightly stick before Qin Feng became aware.

His gut feeling was that Qin Feng's formidable power was likely linked to that stick.

"Once I have your stick, your arrogance is finished," Lu Shaojie whispered to himself. His eyes turned savage as he reached decisively for the Dragon Bone.

He swiftly seized one end of the Dragon Bone and yanked with all his might.

But the unexpected occurred.

The Dragon Bone seemed glued to Qin Feng's hand. Despite Lu Shaojie's efforts, it wouldn't budge.

"What's happening?" A wave of panic washed over Lu Shaojie as he hastily looked up.

And there he was, locked in the icy stare of Qin Feng.

"What do you think you're doing?" Qin Feng's voice was cold, his eyes glinting with an icy gleam.
