C22 Genius Superpowered Person

After finishing his statement, Qin Feng departed with Wang Gang without a backward glance.

Given Qin Feng's abilities at the time, he was not yet capable of taking on the entire Devil Eye Ratmen Tribe alone. Moreover, the recent skirmish and the ensuing shouts were certain to draw the Ratmen's attention. Thus, he needed to find a new hiding spot. His plan was to leave the dying Lu Shaojie behind, hoping the scent of blood from his wounds would distract the Ratmen.

This tactic, preoccupying the Devil Eye Ratmen with their meal, would leave them no time to hunt other prey. It was a clever strategy that also highlighted Qin Feng's ruthlessness and detachment.

Wang Gang had evidently figured out Qin Feng's plan. Following him, he spoke with a shaky voice, "Qin Feng, we can't do this. It's too cruel. While Lu Shaojie's life may not be worth mourning, leaving Manager Zhong behind isn't right."

Qin Feng responded without emotion, "Gang, enough! I've said before that I'd only help you if you avoided foolish actions. She's been pushing my limits! It's not that I want to be cruel; she's practically courting death."

Shortly thereafter, Qin Feng led Wang Gang to another suitable hiding place. Wang Gang kept glancing back at the mist-shrouded area, his heart torn with conflict.

Meanwhile, Zhong Yanan remained in the room, struggling to remove the steel pipe impaled in Lu Shaojie's abdomen.

Qin Feng's strength was immense; the pipe had not only pierced through Lu Shaojie's lower belly but had also pinned him against the door.

Zhong Yanan managed to extract the pipe after much effort, then looked down at Lu Shaojie's profusely bleeding wound, her tears falling silently.

Qin Feng had intentionally spared Lu Shaojie's vital spots, causing him to bleed uncontrollably. Though Lu Shaojie was incapacitated, he wasn't going to die immediately.

At that moment, Lu Shaojie's consciousness was fading. Immobilized, he could only beg in a heart-wrenchingly pitiful voice, "Nan, you have to save me. I don't want to die."

"Don't worry. I'll give it my all," Zhong Yanan assured, wiping away her tears as she hoisted Lu Shaojie onto her back.

Despite her longstanding aversion to Lu Shaojie and her reluctance to marry him, they had known each other for years. They might not end up as husband and wife, but they remained friends. She couldn't bear the thought of him dying here. Aware that their chances of survival were slim, she still shouldered his weight. With her voice breaking, she urged, "We need to get out of here now. Qin Feng was right; monsters will be swarming this place any minute."

Struggling, she yanked open the equipment room door, ready to flee with Lu Shaojie in tow.

But as the door swung open, her heart sank at the sight before her.

A hulking Devil Eye Ratman, about one and a half meters in length, stood snarling at the threshold. It brandished its claws, glaring menacingly at both Lu Shaojie and Zhong Yanan.

Drawn by the scent of blood, its crimson eyes fixated on the pool of blood on the floor, it let out continuous, savage roars.

Zhong Yanan froze, panic seizing her. The monster had arrived far sooner than she anticipated. Her first instinct was to retreat back into the equipment room.

But the dying Lu Shaojie, summoning his last reserves of strength, cried out, "We can't go back! More monsters will come! You must kill this one before it calls for others."

"Alright!" With no other options left, Zhong Yanan summoned her deepest reserves of bravery and charged at the Devil Eye Ratman.

The petite Zhong Yanan tapped into her exceptional agility once more. Carrying Lu Shaojie, who weighed over a hundred and thirty kilograms, she moved with surprising speed. She hurled the axe at the obstructing Devil Eye Ratman.

The Ratman let out a roar and swiped its claws toward her pale neck.

Its movements were swift, yet Zhong Yanan, burdened with Lu Shaojie's weight, was just as quick. She swung her axe from the side before the Ratman's claws could reach her, shattering its bones.

The Devil Eye Ratmen hit the ground with a wail, its bloodshot eyes wide with shock. Before it could scramble to its feet, Zhong Yanan struck again!

With a swing of her axe, the creature's rigid head shattered. Blood and foul-smelling brain matter splattered across Zhong Yanan's pale face, somehow enhancing her beauty.

Undoubtedly, Zhong Yanan's aptitude for absorbing energy was exceptional. She far surpassed Lu Shaojie in strength.

Once her fear was vanquished, the raw power she wielded was incomparable to that of an average person.

Yet, the peril persisted. The dying shriek of the first beast had summoned its kin.

A dozen or more of the creatures began to advance as one.

With no other option, Zhong Yanan hoisted her axe and charged at the monsters amidst a cacophony of battle cries and frenzied shrieks.

The fight escalated to a fever pitch.

Bearing an injured comrade on her back, she was limited to using just one hand. But the hand that wielded her axe was anything but hindered. Her movements, which should have been sluggish, were anything but.

She surged forward with remarkable speed. Each swing of her axe found its mark with deadly precision.

Initially, the fray had sent her into a panic. But as the conflict raged on, she grew accustomed to the tang of blood in the air, even to the act of killing. Her once-shaking fingers now held the axe steady, her strikes growing more accurate and lethal. Each chop targeted the monsters' vital points with devastating impact.

In a mere matter of seconds, she had slain a succession of Devil Eye Ratmen.

Such prowess was unthinkable before nightfall. Yet, in just a few short hours, her innate talent had been fully realized, bestowing upon her a combat strength that was nothing short of astonishing.

From his vantage point atop a nearby tower, Qin Feng, squinting as he watched the battle unfold, couldn't help but admire her. "She truly is a prodigious superpowered individual!"

In his past life, his interactions with Zhong Yanan had been minimal. Though both served in the Dragon Shield Bureau, their roles seldom overlapped, leaving them with little knowledge of each other.

Nevertheless, they had both earned the recognition of the Bureau's upper echelons during the apocalypse, a testament to their formidable potential.

Zhong Yanan's display in the heat of battle was a perfect confirmation of that fact.

Facing a multitude of enemies, Zhong Yanan astonishingly took the offensive. With each swing of her axe, she delivered lethal blows to the monsters, targeting their vulnerabilities to inflict maximum damage.

Although she couldn't always fell a monster with a single strike, those she hit found it nearly impossible to rise and counterattack.

Her performance in the fray was nothing short of remarkable; she truly earned the title of a genius.

Regrettably, Zhong Yanan's stamina was not infinite.

As the battle raged on, her Source Qi dwindled, leaving her limbs heavy and her axe swings increasingly sluggish.

In contrast, the monsters seemed indefatigable.

The fight wore on, and Zhong Yanan's steps grew shakier. After a grueling two minutes, she could no longer defend herself.
