C6 Attack of the Demonic Wolves
"Quickly! Light up the firewood!"
From afar, the village chief's urgent shouts could be heard as he led a dozen or so young men and hurried over from the rear.
As they lit up two piles of firewood that stood more than a meter tall, the entire area radiated with a reddish tint.
Though the few wild wolves retreated hesitantly in fear, the ominous glints in their eyes did not diminish at all as they let out a deep howl from their mouths.
"Why are there so many wolves?"
The village chief muttered to himself in a strange manner.
Normally, only one or two lone wolves would occasionally infiltrate the village and steal a chicken or duck at best, which was still acceptable.
However, this was the first time a whole pack of five or six wolves had entered the village. Could some sort of problem have occurred within the depths of the forest?
In his moment of confusion, one of the wolves standing on the other end of the fire suddenly howled.
Hearing those howls, the villagers' expressions changed drastically.
Oh no!
That wolf was calling for the rest of its companions!
Sure enough, in less than minuate, multiple pairs of emerald green glows emerged from the surroundings of the village.
Upon seeing the eyes of the wolves in the darkness of the forest, the villagers fell into a state of panic.
Why were there so many wolves? There were at the very least forty to fifty of them!
How did things turn out this way? No matter how much the villagers thought about the situation, they could not figure anything out. Even then, they certainly did not have much time for thinking either.
The wolves stared at the villagers with fearsome glares, some of them even drooling from the corners of their mouths. At this moment, the wolves seemed to be ready to pounce on their prey at any time.
Suddenly, a wolf the size of a bull slowly approached from the rear of the wolf pack.
Upon seeing that unusually huge wolf, the villagers could not help but suck in a breath of cold air. Their hearts were instantly shaken as cold chills shivered down their spines.
Dear god!
That was a Demonic Beast!
In that instant, the villagers fell into a moment of despair!
One of the timid villagers fell into a daze. With his hands turning numb, the hoe that he was holding fell onto the ground unbeknownst to him.
At the same time, more and more of the villagers began to tremble uncontrollably.
As ordinary people, even hunting lone wolves would already require a lot of effort from them. However, when facing a Demonic Beast, they simply stood no chance whatsoever as they lacked the strength to retaliate.
The Demonic Wolf that was clearly the alpha wolf of the pack sauntered slowly towards the fire.
Facing this group of weak humans, this Demonic Wolf did not seem fazed at all. Rather, he seemed like the leader of gang who was taking his group of lackeys out for a feast.
Letting out a long howl, the Demonic Wolf signaled the rest of the pack to launch their attacks.
Greed and cruelty appeared in the eyes of the wolves as they pounced towards the villagers to savor their meal.
"Everyone, stick together! We shall fight to the death with these beasts! Kill as many of the wolves as you can! We can't let these beasts devour us so easily!"
Hearing the village chief's solemn and desperate voice, everyone tightened their grip on the farming tools in their hands with a boost in their morale.
The gluttonous wolves jumped through the fire and stood in a fan-shaped formation. In the blink of an eye, they all stood a bit more than four meters away from the villagers.
In that next instant, the pack of wolves leaped into the air and lunged towards the villagers as their beast-like figures gradually enlarged in the eyes of all the villagers.
At this very critical moment, a clear and decisive but somewhat childish voice jolted through the air.
"You beasts! How dare you!"
In the blink of an eye, everyone's vision blurred as they witnessed a shocking scene.
A particular gray wolf that was in the middle of pouncing towards the villagers let out an agonizing shriek before crashing back to the other side of the fire at an even faster speed than its initial lunge.
Rolling on the ground a dozen times, more than half of its fire had been scraped off, revealing its bloody flesh and crimson blood. It then collapsed weakly on the ground, unmoving.
The same thing happened to the second... third... fourth... and eventually the rest of the wolf pack as they screeched in pain, which naturally caused the villagers to burst in excitement.
