C24 Spiritual Sense Warning!

Qi Xiao slammed the divorce papers down on the table and swiftly turned to leave, ignoring the Lin family members who stood there, stunned like statues.

Xue Rensheng, witnessing Qi Xiao's departure, scurried after him with his assistant in tow, eager to keep up.

"Mr. Qi, in all my life, I've never held anyone in such high regard. You're the first," he exclaimed.

After the banquet, Xue Rensheng shamelessly began to heap praise upon Qi Xiao. He hadn't fully grasped Qi Xiao's abilities before, but after witnessing Qi Xiao leave seasoned internal martial arts masters, capable of breaking a table with a single palm strike, severely injured, he was genuinely awestruck.

Impatiently waving his hand, Qi Xiao said, "Enough with the flattery."

Unfazed and without a hint of embarrassment, Xue Rensheng offered a sheepish grin, "Of course, of course. Mr. Qi, whatever you command, the Xue family will not hesitate to brave any danger!"

Qi Xiao cast a disdainful glance at Xue Rensheng, realizing for the first time that the man had the makings of a sycophant.

He was about to inquire why Xue Rensheng had been at the Lin family's banquet when a sudden, inexplicable irritation welled up inside him. As a cultivator, he couldn't dismiss such feelings; his spiritual sense was too sharp to ignore without cause.

Though not a master of divination, Qi Xiao could perform some basic calculations. He quickly began to count on his fingers, but within seconds, his expression grew grave.

The divination revealed a family member in imminent danger, as his spiritual sense had warned him. And in this world, his only family was Qi Yun.

Without hesitation, Qi Xiao pulled out his phone and dialed Qi Yun's number. They had both purchased new phones during a recent shopping trip, a fortunate decision that now made communication much easier.

"Beep... Beep... Beep..."

"Hello? Brother, what's up?"

Relief washed over Qi Xiao as he heard Qi Yun's voice, "Nothing's wrong. I just left the Lin family's place and wanted to let you know I'm safe."

"Ah? You... the Lin family didn't give you a hard time, did they?"

"No, the engagement's been called off. The Lins were actually..." Qi Xiao glanced back at the Lin family's banquet hall, now in disarray, and chuckled, "Surprisingly cordial."

"Hmm? And the engagement?" Qi Yun sounded dubious, clearly questioning Qi Xiao's description of the Lins as "cordial."

"It's over. The Lins won't bother us anymore. Where are you?"

"That's a relief. I'm at school. Why do you ask?"

"I thought you didn't have classes today. Why are you at school?"

"Oh, a classmate invited me to their birthday party."

Qi Xiao detected the discomfort in Qi Yun's voice. She usually didn't have many friends at school, right?

"Luo Xiaoman?"

"No... It's Tang Yue!"

Qi Xiao's brow furrowed instantly. This was like a weasel greeting a chicken—a bad omen.

"Where are you? I'll come get you."

"There's no need, brother. Tang Yue admitted she was wrong and wants to apologize. I'll be fine."

While Qi Yun was speaking, it seemed a classmate overheard her and called out loudly:

"Qi Yun, your brother? Just have him come! One more won't make a difference!"

"Yeah, yeah, invite him!"

Feeling the pressure from her classmates' teasing, Qi Yun, who was not one to handle such situations well, reluctantly agreed:

"Okay, brother, come on over. We're at the school gate and will be leaving shortly."

"Okay."

Qi Xiao ended the call, turned to Xue Rensheng, and said:

"I need to borrow your car."

Xue Rensheng was momentarily taken aback but quickly nodded and passed the car keys to Qi Xiao.

"Hey, no need to talk about borrowing. I can't thank Mr. Qi enough for all he's done for the Xue family. This car is yours to..."

But before Xue Rensheng could finish, Qi Xiao was already driving off, leaving Xue Rensheng and his flustered assistant in his wake.

"Director Xue, how... how are we going to get back?"

Xue Rensheng was a bit bewildered. "Aren't you going to give me a lift when you borrow a car?"

"Uh, never mind, I'll just hail a cab!"

"Right!"

West River University, where Qi Yun was studying, was expansive, with numerous gates. Qi Xiao, unfamiliar with the campus, inadvertently made a blunder.

He ended up at the university's back entrance, which was too narrow to admit his car, with no other vehicles in sight—only bicycles.

Qi Xiao haphazardly parked near the back gate, got out, and strode into West River University.

The campus was bustling with students hurrying to and from classes, most dressed casually. So when Qi Xiao, clad in a sharp suit and leather shoes, made his entrance, he drew many curious glances.

"Hey, check out that guy. He's really good-looking!"

"Tsk, wearing a suit to class? What's he trying to prove?"

Qi Xiao paid no mind to the murmurs, his spiritual sense alarm urging him on. He quickly made his way through the campus and reached the main gate in just a few minutes.

As expected, a crowd of students was gathered there, including a girl in a sky-blue dress who was scanning the area—it was Qi Yun!

Qi Yun, not anticipating Qi Xiao's arrival by car, kept her gaze fixed on the sidewalk and bus stop. Her companions appeared restless, seemingly prodding her, while Qi Yun seemed to be continuously apologizing.

Seeing Qi Yun safe, Qi Xiao's anxiety eased. He approached at a leisurely pace.

Qi Yun spotted him too, her face breaking into a smile as she waved enthusiastically.

Her classmates noticed the dapper man approaching, and the girls' eyes gleamed with admiration.

"Qi Yun, is that your brother?"

"Yeah."

"Wow, he's so handsome! How come you've never mentioned him to us?"

The boys, meanwhile, couldn't hide their envy or scorn.

Closing the distance, Qi Xiao asked, "Where are you all headed?"

With a sweet smile, Qi Yun replied, "It's Tang Yue's birthday today. She's invited me to her party, and we're heading to her family's Tang Dynasty KTV first."

Tang Yue stood nearby, her eyes flickering with resentment as she watched Qi Xiao, but the look vanished as quickly as it had appeared.

"Big brother Qi, we were in the wrong that day. We'd like to take this opportunity to offer our apologies to you and Yun," they said earnestly.

Qi Xiao nodded, his expression unreadable. The spiritual sense within him had been fading ever since he arrived at Qi Yun's side, but he was determined to accompany her today. The thought of anything untoward happening to Qi Yun was unacceptable.

"Alright, everyone's here. Let's head out!"

Tang Yue greeted Qi Xiao with feigned enthusiasm before signaling the group to get moving. The crowd consisted of over a dozen students, many of whom were wealthy heirs like Tang Yue, each with their own car.

The vehicles were parked just a short distance from the entrance, and Tang Yue swiftly directed everyone to their rides.

"Yun, if you don't mind, join me in my car," offered a tall and strikingly handsome boy as he approached Qi Yun, who glanced back at Qi Xiao.

The boy, as if just noticing Qi Xiao, offered an awkward smile and introduced himself, "You must be Qi Yun's brother. Hello, I'm Shi Yuchen, her classmate."

Qi Xiao acknowledged him with a nod.

Unfazed, the boy continued, "There aren't many cars left, and the seats are almost gone. Qi Yun, come on, let's get going."

At those words, Qi Yun felt a pang of concern. All these people had their own cars; how could there be no seats left?

She saw that the cars were indeed nearly full, with only one seat available in Shi Yuchen's car. But what about her brother?

Qi Xiao had also picked up on the situation, realizing that Tang Yue's intentions extended beyond a mere apology.

It was then that Tang Yue approached with a contrived look of regret, "Oh dear, I'm so sorry. We're short on seats. I hadn't anticipated your brother joining us. Perhaps he could take the bus? It's quite convenient from here!"

Qi Yun, sensing Tang Yue's continued exclusion, responded with a hint of displeasure, "If that's the case, I'd rather not go. We'll head home. You all enjoy yourselves."

Yet, to her surprise, Qi Xiao interjected, "Let's not be hasty. It's not every day that Tang Yue invites you to an event. It wouldn't be polite to turn down a classmate's invitation."

Qi Yun was momentarily taken aback. It was unexpected for her brother to come to Tang Yue's defense.

"But..."

"No worries. Just wait here a bit; I'll come get you in the car."

Tang Yue had been struggling to suppress her laughter. She couldn't believe Qi Yun's brother was naive enough to count the cash for his own sale!

But then she couldn't contain her laughter any longer. Drive? Did he even own a car?

"Um, Qi, we're at the main entrance parking lot. Where's your car parked?"

"At the back door."

Laughter erupted from the classmates upon hearing this.

"Hahaha, park at the back door? Isn't that just for bicycles? Is Qi Yun's brother planning to give her a lift on a bike?"

"Stop making things up. Didn't you hear him say he's going to drive? A tricycle's still a vehicle, right? Hahahahaha!"

Qi Yun's face soured as the mockery continued. She couldn't fathom what her brother was thinking; they didn't have a car at home.

Qi Xiao, however, was unfazed by the kids' jeers. He simply turned and made his way to the back door.

His spiritual sense alarm was certainly not caused by these students. If Qi Yun was in danger, there had to be another player involved. Qi Xiao was determined to uncover whoever was plotting against his sister.

"Hahaha, he's actually going to fetch the car!"

"Well, let's hang around and see what kind of 'car' he comes back with!"
